GOP Senator Tells House Colleagues Their Charges Against Biden ‘May Not Be Impeachable’

A Republican senator is warning his colleagues in the House of Representatives who are moving ahead with an impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden that their flimsy charges “may not be impeachable” and wind up accomplishing nothing but embarrassing the party in the midst of the 2024 election.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) said on Newsmax that the House should only pursue impeachment if their case is incredibly strong and based on indisputable evidence.

“Send us a case, make sure it’s convictable,” Mullin advised. “And the bar is real high, there’s no question, it’s got to be a misdemeanor, a high crime, or treason. And the other bar is it has to be committed while [Biden] was in office, the current office he holds. So what he did as a vice president, what he did in between the two, may not be impeachable.”

What exactly are House Republicans basing their impeachment inquiry on? Two items, both of which have been fully explained and debunked.

Republicans allege that when Biden was vice president, he demanded that Ukraine fire a government prosecutor who was suspected by the United States and its allies of dragging his heels on fighting corruption in the country, which is allied with the West.

But Biden was merely following the policy of President Barack Obama and top officials in the Obama administration.

At the time the prosecutor was under suspicion, Biden’s son, Hunter, was serving on the board Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.

The other allegation against Biden is that while he was a private citizen, he accepted repayment of a truck loan from Hunter, though such a move is not and never has been illegal in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Simply put, House Republicans are pursuing their bogus “inquiry” for one reason and one reason only: To provide a smokescreen for their likely 2024 presidential nominee, Donald Trump, who has been indicted on 91 criminal charges and may have shared classified intelligence with our adversaries.

James Comer Facing Questions About His Own Finances As He Pushes To Impeach Biden

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has been saying for months that President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, have been engaged in financial crimes involving shell companies used to allegedly funnel foreign contributions to the Biden family, which means the president is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, and that warrants impeachment and removal from office.

On Wednesday, Comer got what he wanted in the form of a vote from his GOP colleagues to formally open an impeachment inquiry of President Biden.

However, it now appears that Comer has been engaged in the very same behavior he says is proof of illegality by the Bidens, according to an explosive report from The Associated Press.

But as Comer works to “deliver the transparency and accountability that the American people demand” through the GOP’s investigation, his own finances and relationships have begun to draw notice, too, including his ties to prominent local figures who have complicated pasts not all that dissimilar to some of those caught up in his Biden probe.

At issue are six acres of land owned by Comer and his wife which are also co-owned via a shell company by a large contributor to Comer’s campaign, which certainly appears to be a serious conflict of interest.

The AP found that Farm Team Properties functions in a similarly opaque way as the companies used by the Bidens, masking his stake in the land that he co-owns with the donor from being revealed on his financial disclosure forms. Those records describe Farm Team Properties as his wife’s “land management and real estate speculation” company without providing further details.

It’s not clear why Comer decided to put those six acres in a shell company, or what other assets Farm Team Properties may hold. On his most recent financial disclosure forms, Comer lists its value as being as much as $1 million, a substantial sum but a fraction of his overall wealth.

Comer is certainly sensitive about his own shell company and loans he’s made to family members, as was in evidence in November when Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) accused the chairman of potential wrongdoing and also called him out for his hypocrisy.

“I think you owe it to the American people to explain why you’ve gone on Fox News and told people that while the president was out of office, he had a loan with his brother,” Moskowitz said, despite that “it has come out in the public that you also do business with your brother with potential loans.”

An enraged Comer replied that he’d done nothing wrong and also called Moskowitz a “Smurf” simply because the Florida Democrat happened to be wearing a blue suit at the time.

If Comer continues to push for impeaching Biden, he can likely expect that referrals will be made to the House Ethics Committee referencing the shell company he owns with the donor to his campaign. Though the action may not be illegal, it certainly raises questions about what Comer may be hiding and whether or not he’s using the Biden family as a smokescreen for his own shady business deals.

In other words, karma is coming for James Comer, and when it arrives, it’s going to take a giant bite out of him.

Impeachment Hearing Goes Off The Rails As Dem Proves Trump Took Money From 12 Countries As POTUS

During a hearing today at which House Republicans tried to present evidence that suggests an impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden should be initiated, evidence was presented that showed the person who has benefitted most while serving as head of state was none other than failed former president Donald Trump, according to David Badash of The New Civil Rights Movement.

With GOP members of the House Rules Committee suggesting that Biden had money funneled to him from other nations through his son, Hunter, U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM) noted that Trump did the very thing Biden is being accused of. However, there are facts proving Trump’s culpability.

Referring to Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer, who testified in a closed-door session before the House Oversight Committee, Congresswoman Fernandez explained, “if you actually look at that transcript, Mr. Archer was very clear that while the father [Joe Biden] may have talked to his son, they never ever talked about business.”

“They never ever talked about financial matters,” she continued. “And in contrast, when we were looking at issues about family business, I would like to enter into the record. Mr. Chairman, I seek consent to enter into the record, a [unrecognizable] that says Trump taxes show foreign income for more than a dozen countries.”

It appears that Fernandez was referencing a December 2022 article from Politico in which this sentence appears, “Donald Trump’s tax returns show the former president received income from more than a dozen countries during his time in office, highlighting a string of potential conflicts of interest.”

Among the countries listed by Politico are Canada, Panama, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

Those verifiable facts led Fernandez to tell her colleagues on the committee:

“I think this is our objection. I think that it is important you are making a big deal of the fact that Joe, that Joe Biden, as a private citizen, a lot of these things that you’re talking about happened when Joe Biden was a private citizen, but more importantly, that his brother and his son were separate.”

“They did not have, their businesses were not commingled. It’s very clear from the evidence that they were separate. They were not the same. In contrast, we know from this article that says, Trump’s tax show foreign income, ‘Donald Trump’s tax returns show the former president received income from more than a dozen countries during his time in office,'”

Donald Trump never placed his business assets in a blind trust when he became president. All of his predecessors did. And as a result, Trump was free to promote his hotels to foreign dignitaries, who were eager to curry favor with him. And yet, Republicans had no problem with that arrangement.

Now, however, without a shred of proof, those same Republicans want to impeach Joe Biden for the very thing they gave Trump a pass on. That’s not just hypocrisy. It’s the sort of thing that should get every last one of them voted out of office come the 2024 election.

Democrat Torches GOP Colleagues For Trying To Impeach Biden Because Trump ‘Ordered’ Them To

During a hearing of the House Rules Committee this morning to discuss Republican plans to open a formal impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden, one of the Democrats on the committee verbally shredded his GOP colleagues for their continued loyalty to former president Donald Trump.

Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) noted that the discussion of a “sham” impeachment had originated with Trump.

“They’re upset Trump lost,” McGovern said referencing the 2020 election. “He’s upset he lost. Some of them still don’t even believe he lost. Many of them are upset that the insurrection didn’t succeed on January 6th. And today, they want to finish the job.”

“Donald Trump says jump,” McGovern added. “The MAGA extremists say, how high? Donald Trump asked them to impeach Joe Biden, and here we are.”

The move to impeach Biden, McGovern noted, is a “national disgrace.”

“I mean, I could be here all day reading quotes from your colleagues, Republicans, who basically have publicly admitted this is a waste of time after a year, after a year. So let’s be honest. We are here because Donald Trump ordered you to be here. He wants to finish the job.”

“We’re here basically because this is what the former disgraced President wants from you.”

James Comer Pitches A Childish Fit When A Democrat Confronts Him With His Own Shady Business Deals

The karma police paid a visit to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), and he reacted as you’d expect: With anger, petulance, childish insults, and looking guilty as hell.

Referencing reports showing that Comer had engaged in land swaps with his brother, including loans Comer made to his brother, Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) suggested that Comer was guilty of the same thing he has accused President Joe Biden of doing.

“I’m happy to yield you some of my time today, Mr. Chairman, because I think you owe it to the American people to explain why you’ve gone on Fox News and told people, while the president was out of office, he had a loan with his brother, and in a way they were evading taxes. It has come out in the public that you also do business with your brother with potential loans,” Moscowitz noted.

In response, Comer began yelling:

“I would love it! You retweeted that story. Completely false. I’ve never loaned my brother one penny.”

“That story that you tweeted also said that I had a shell company. That is bullshit! I think that the problem is, you know, the White House tried to get CNN to write that story. They went around and investigated all this bullshit…that only dumb financially illiterate people pick up on, and said that it was a shell company because it was an LLC.”

“But you and [Rep. Dan] Goldman, who is ‘Mr. Trust Fund,’ continue to try to discredit — ” Comer boomed.

Moscowitz: “Reclaim my time!”

Comer became more agitated.

“No! I’m not going to give you your time back! We can stop the clock. You all continue to — you look like a Smurf here, just going around and all this stuff, now listen — ”

That’s when Moscowitz hit Comer with a verbal two-by-four:

“Mr. Chairman, this seems to have gotten under your skin! I think the American people have lots of questions, Mr. Chairman. Perhaps you should sit, maybe, for a deposition — ”

Comer:

“I would be happy! I can sit with Hunter Biden and Jim Biden and we can go over our LLCs!”

Sure, Jim. No one believes you’d ever give a deposition under oath. There’s too big a risk you’d commit perjury within the first 10 seconds.
