WATCH Jamie Raskin Shut Down ‘Deranged’ James Comer: ‘You Need Therapy’

A House Oversight Committee hearing erupted into shouting and insults today when two members of the panel, Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and James Comer (R-KY) clashed over the issue of Republican attempts to impeach President Joe Biden despite their complete lack of any evidence proving high crimes and misdemeanors.

Raskin noted that Republicans had accused Biden of taking bribes but have yet to offer any proof to support their specious accusation.

“It has obviously been dropped, and yet this was the genesis of our investigation.”

Comer interrupted, “That is just simply not true, but go ahead and finish your story.”

“Oh, I agree you have been talking about bank statements for more than a year, but they don’t show anything other than there was no crime,” Raskin continued.

“Do you want to move for impeachment today?” Raskin asked. “Because I thought that that was your main agenda item.”

“You all need therapy, Mr. Raskin.”

“No, you need therapy,” Raskin insisted. “You’re the one who’s involved with the deranged politician, not me, okay?”

“I’ve divorced myself from Donald Trump a long time ago,” Raskin added. “You’re the one who needs to disentangle from that situation.”

The purpose of the bogus impeachment inquiry aimed at President Biden was simple: To try and deflect from the laundry list of legal issues confronting disgraced former president Donald Trump, who is facing 91 felony counts on charges ranging from fraud to stealing classified documents and storing them at Mar-a-Lago.

As Congressman Raskin rightly pointed out, the GOP needs to disentangle from its associations with Trump. But they won’t, and that could lead to a landslide loss by Republicans come November.

Comer And Jordan Are In Deep Sh*t – Could Be Facing Criminal Charges

Now that their bogus impeachment inquiry has been exposed as little more than a political stunt, Reps. James Comer (R-KY) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) may soon find themselves under investigation and charged with crimes for using witness testimony from a Russian agent in their zeal to damage President Joe Biden.

Mary Trump, the niece of failed one-term former president Donald Trump, notes on Substack that Comer and Jordan appear to have known from the beginning that their allegations against Biden were nothing but lies.

“It’s becoming increasingly clear that the sham impeachment of President Joe Biden was a sham from beginning to ignominious end, as it appears much of the information upon which it was based originated from the Kremlin,” she writes.

The ex-president’s niece adds that she recently spoke with an attorney friend who told her Comer and Jordan are in “deep shit.”

Additionally, Mary points to comments made by New York State assistant attorney general Tristan Snell, who says Comer and Jordan were “duped by Smirnov and the Kremlin — or they were in on it.”

The final result could be censure or criminal charges, she concludes.

“I would say it’s hard to think of any other Republicans in Congress more deserving, but the truth is it would be extremely easy to come up with dozens of them.”

Why do Comer, Jordan, and others in the GOP seem to always rely on Russia as the foundation for the bullshit they throw at their opponents? Why does Donald Trump constantly praise Russian president/war criminal Vladimir Putin? Is the Republican Party completely compromised by our enemies? And if so, how can this danger be dealt with?

Republicans Furious With James Comer For His Biden Impeachment Inquiry: ‘A Jumbled Mess’

House Republicans thought they had the perfect way to counter the seemingly endless legal problems confronting former president Donald Trump: Open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden and pursue removal from office as the 2024 election draws closer by the day.

Now, however, two months after the inquiry began, many in the GOP are calling the investigation “a jumbled mess” and blaming House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY), who is leading the effort, according to CNN.

“The prospect of their inquiry not culminating in impeachment has prompted some internal frustration among Republicans, with finger-pointing already underway in GOP circles about what went wrong — and who is to blame — even as the Republican-led committees continue to push on with their probe.”

“Some of the ire has been directed at House Oversight Chairman James Comer, who has spearheaded the investigation into Biden family business records.”

The House Republican caucus currently has a narrow margin of two votes, which means they would need unanimity from their members if and when a vote for impeachment goes to the floor.

Some in the GOP, however, are already suggesting they won’t vote to impeach Biden given the scant “evidence” that’s been assembled by Comer and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), a member of the right-wing Freedom Caucus who was also involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election, noted, “I don’t know that the case has been made adequately to the American people” to impeach Biden. And a GOP insider echoed those remarks, commenting, “You’d be hard-pressed to say it’s going well. It’s a jumbled mess.”

The crux of the so-called case against President Biden is that he allegedly accepted bribes from foreign countries that did business with his son, Hunter Biden. But there hasn’t been a shred of credible evidence presented to prove such an allegation.

All of this begs the question as to whether or not the real goal of Republicans is to keep issuing subpoenas in the hope the White House will accidentally fail to release every document requested which would then serve as the pretext for charging the president with obstruction of justice regarding a crimes that have yet to be proven.

In other words, it’s just election-year politics, but the waste of time and taxpayer money could wind up backfiring badly on the GOP and costing them control of both houses of Congress while also reelecting Biden for a second term.

Hunter Biden Just Beat Comer And Jordan At Their Own Game

When Hunter Biden showed up on Wednesday in response to a congressional subpoena, some House Republicans thought they had just won a major victory over the president’s son and now had the upper hand in their impeachment inquiry.

But it now appears that the actual victor was Hunter Biden himself, and it’s likely that the GOP won’t be able to charge him with contempt of Congress.

According to CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen, Reps. James Comer (R-KY) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) walked right into a carefully constructed trap set by Hunter Biden and his attorney, Abbe Lowell.

Eisen explained on Twitter/X.

Contempt? Not so fast, Eisen continues.

In other words, House Republicans can make all the referrals for contempt to the Justice Department they want, but none of them will be pursued by the DOJ because they clearly didn’t conduct their investigation in a legal fashion, meaning their subpoena has no power and cannot be enforced, no matter what “facts” they present.

So for now, it appears to be game, set, and match for Hunter Biden, who just so happens to have a law degree from Yale and one of the best legal teams in Washington.

Meanwhile, on the GOP side you have Jim Jordan, who never took the bar exam and James Comer, who is financially and legally compromised in all sorts of ways.

Well played, Hunter. Well played indeed.

James Comer Facing Questions About His Own Finances As He Pushes To Impeach Biden

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has been saying for months that President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, have been engaged in financial crimes involving shell companies used to allegedly funnel foreign contributions to the Biden family, which means the president is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, and that warrants impeachment and removal from office.

On Wednesday, Comer got what he wanted in the form of a vote from his GOP colleagues to formally open an impeachment inquiry of President Biden.

However, it now appears that Comer has been engaged in the very same behavior he says is proof of illegality by the Bidens, according to an explosive report from The Associated Press.

But as Comer works to “deliver the transparency and accountability that the American people demand” through the GOP’s investigation, his own finances and relationships have begun to draw notice, too, including his ties to prominent local figures who have complicated pasts not all that dissimilar to some of those caught up in his Biden probe.

At issue are six acres of land owned by Comer and his wife which are also co-owned via a shell company by a large contributor to Comer’s campaign, which certainly appears to be a serious conflict of interest.

The AP found that Farm Team Properties functions in a similarly opaque way as the companies used by the Bidens, masking his stake in the land that he co-owns with the donor from being revealed on his financial disclosure forms. Those records describe Farm Team Properties as his wife’s “land management and real estate speculation” company without providing further details.

It’s not clear why Comer decided to put those six acres in a shell company, or what other assets Farm Team Properties may hold. On his most recent financial disclosure forms, Comer lists its value as being as much as $1 million, a substantial sum but a fraction of his overall wealth.

Comer is certainly sensitive about his own shell company and loans he’s made to family members, as was in evidence in November when Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) accused the chairman of potential wrongdoing and also called him out for his hypocrisy.

“I think you owe it to the American people to explain why you’ve gone on Fox News and told people that while the president was out of office, he had a loan with his brother,” Moskowitz said, despite that “it has come out in the public that you also do business with your brother with potential loans.”

An enraged Comer replied that he’d done nothing wrong and also called Moskowitz a “Smurf” simply because the Florida Democrat happened to be wearing a blue suit at the time.

If Comer continues to push for impeaching Biden, he can likely expect that referrals will be made to the House Ethics Committee referencing the shell company he owns with the donor to his campaign. Though the action may not be illegal, it certainly raises questions about what Comer may be hiding and whether or not he’s using the Biden family as a smokescreen for his own shady business deals.

In other words, karma is coming for James Comer, and when it arrives, it’s going to take a giant bite out of him.
