Russia Caught Red-Handed Trying To Bribe A Member Of Congress

Three Russian citizens have been indicted for “conspiring to use an agent of Russia in the United States without prior notice to the Attorney General, conspiring to violate U.S. sanctions and conspiring to commit visa fraud,” according to the Justice Department.

One member of the U.S. Congress was targeted in the scheme, according to the DOJ, but will not be named at this time.

The charges are against three men: Aleksandr Mikhaylovich Babakov, 59; Aleksandr Nikolayevich Vorobev, 52; and Mikhail Alekseyevich Plisyuk, 58.

A Russian legislator, Aleksandr Babakov, and two of his staffers were also implicated in the indictment.

A press release posted on the DOJ’s web site spells out exactly how the scheme took place:

“The defendants contacted members of the U.S. Congress from 2012 into 2017 to seek meetings and to offer free travel to at least one Congressmember on behalf of Babakov, as well as other foreign officials aligned and associated with Babakov. For example, in 2012, at the direction of the defendants, CC-1 sought to secure a meeting for Babakov with multiple members of Congress, including by offering an ‘all expenses paid’ trip to a particular Congressmember to meet with European politicians and receive ‘an award.’

“Also in March 2017, the defendants contacted at least one member of the U.S. Congress to offer free travel to a Babakov-affiliated conference in Yalta, part of Russia-controlled Crimea, as a service to benefit the purported ‘Prime Minister of Crimea,’ Sergey Aksyonov. Aksyonov was organizing and attending the conference, and had been sanctioned by the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as a Specially Designated National (SDN) since 2014 based on his role in actions and policies threatening the sovereignty of Ukraine.”

Assistant Director Alan E. Kohler Jr. of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, remarked:

“This FBI investigation highlights the lengths the Russian government will go to undermine our rule of law.”

WATCH President Biden Slap Down Peter Doocy For Requesting Details About US Military Policy Toward Russia

During a Q&A session with the White House press corps on Monday, President Joe Biden was asked by Fox reporter Peter Doocy for details about how the United States military would respond to actions such as the use of chemical weapons by Russian forces, and he got resoundingly slapped down by the president.

Doocy asked Biden:

“When you said that a chemical weapon use by Russia would trigger a response in kind…”

The president corrected Doocy:

“It would trigger a significant response.”

The Fox correspondent then followed up:

“What does that mean?”

That’s when the president took Doocy to the woodshed:

“I’m not going to tell you. Why would I tell you? You’ve gotta be silly!”

Doocy:

“The world wants to know.”

But Biden was more than ready for that comeback:

“The world wants to know a lot of things. I’m not telling them what the response would be. Then Russia knows the response.”

Giuliani Claims Trump Told Putin He’d Blow Up Russian Churches If Russia Invaded Ukraine

It’s no wonder that failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump and his former attorney, Rudy Giuliani, became such close friends and confidants over the years. After all, they both lie almost as often as they breathe.

If you doubt that Giuliani can cook up as many bullshit tall tales as his former client, consider that Rudy just told Newsmax the Donald threatened to bomb Russian churches if President Vladimir Putin dared to invade Ukraine a year and a half ago.

According to Giuliani, right before he left office, Trump was speaking with Putin on the phone and made it clear there would be serious consequences if he made a move on Ukraine:

“He authorized me to say this, that’s why I’m saying it, because I’m his lawyer. So, he has a meeting with Putin and he tells him, they’re talking about Ukraine and he says, ‘Vladimir, you shouldn’t, like, attack Ukraine, cause then I’m gonna — well I never liked those — what are those things you’ve got in Moscow? Those big bubbles. Those big gold bubbles. I never liked those things. So, I’m going to have to blow them up.”

The big gold bubbles Trump allegedly threatened to blow up are the spires of the Kremlin, specifically the gold domes that are the tops of the Cathedral of the Annunciation, a Russian Orthodox church that was built in the 15th century.

Giuliani continued:

“So, Putin says, ‘They’re churches.’ And he said, ‘Oh, Vladimir. Don’t tell me that about churches. Oh, come on. Churches?'”

Does anyone other than the most rabid and fanatical MAGA morons believe a word of that? It’s impossible to accept that Trump ever confronted Putin about anything because Vlad allegedly has dirt on Donnie related to the ex-president’s odd sexual fetishes.

And yet now, with Russia killing thousands of Ukrainian civilians as Putin attempts to impose his will and realize his dream of being a modern-day czar, we’re supposed to accept at face value that Donald Trump said he’d bomb the Kremlin.

At times like this, it’s difficult to tell who is most full of shit: Trump, Giuliani, or their Russian master in the Kremlin.

Anonymous Warns Marjorie Taylor Greene: ‘History Will Not Be Kind To You, Nor Will We’

The international hacker group Anonymous has just put Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on notice, and that could prove to be a big problem for the Georgia Republican.

Newsweek reports that Anonymous relayed their message to Greene on Twitter in response to comments she recently made:

The threat comes a day after Greene released a nearly 10-minute video in which she stated that Ukrainians are fighting “a war [against Russia] they cannot win.” Her video—posted on Facebook Live hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke to the U.S. Congress—also criticized President Joe Biden for “saber-rattling” and “dragging America into World War III” by offering financial and military support to Ukraine.

While Greene’s comments echoed those of other conservative pundits, they likely angered the hacker group, since the collective has actively pursued Russian cyber targets since Russia invaded Ukraine.

In her Facebook Live video, Greene also attacked President Joe Biden, who has vowed to help the Ukrainians defeat the Russian military:

Greene also referred to Biden as a “weak dementia-ridden fossil in the White House” and said that Biden’s sanctions wouldn’t work against Russia because they hadn’t worked in the past against Cuba, North Korea or Iran.

“Every move the Biden administration has made has hurt Americans and helped Putin,” she continued. “Hardworking Americans, living paycheck-to-paycheck, don’t care about foreign wars or foreign borders. They care about gas prices back home. They care about runaway inflation,” she continued.

Russia has already felt the wrath of Anonymous, which has been active since Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his troops into Ukraine:

Anonymous has likely hacked 92 Russian databases belonging to retailers, Russian internet providers and intergovernmental websites. Data of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which includes Russia and other former Soviet nations, was also breached, cyber security expert Jeremiah Fowler told CNBC. The databases included hundreds of thousands of names and email addresses, passwords, encrypted data keys and other deleted files.

Now just imagine what a group of dedicated hackers can do to a simpleton like Marjorie Taylor Greene. Her emails and other communications in the days before the January 6 Capitol insurrection might suddenly be posted on the internet. Or she might find herself locked out of her bank accounts and unable to access her cell phone.

Sounds like Marge pissed off the wrong people.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Demands That Ukraine Surrender: ‘They Cannot Possibly Win!’

Just a few hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke to a joint session of Congress, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) went on Facebook Live and demanded that Ukraine surrender to their Russian invaders.

Greene began by claiming that President Joe Biden shouldn’t have sent in military aid to Ukraine that he announced on Wednesday:

“If we truly care about suffering and death on our television screens, we cannot fund more of it by sending money and weaponry to fight a war they cannot possibly win! The only effect of more arms and more money from America will be to prolong the war!”

The Georgia Republican added that the United States was giving the Ukrainian people “false hope about a war they can’t win.”

Greene concluded her remarks by saying that she wants to halt all arms shipments to Ukraine because “as a Christian” she doesn’t want to “produce any more human suffering.”

Greene’s video posting drew a response from fellow Republican Liz Cheney (WY):

It’s hard to tell if Greene is really this stupid or on the Kremlin payroll. Of course, it’s certainly possible that both are true.
