Ron DeSantis Spent Presidents’ Day Attacking Joe Biden And Making Excuses For Vladimir Putin

While Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and his supporters love to say that he’s very different from failed former president Donald Trump, it turns out that in some ways, DeSantis is exactly the same as the disgraced ex-president.

Take, for example, comments DeSantis made today, which just so happens to be Presidents’ Day.

Appearing on Fox News, DeSantis attacked President Joe Biden for daring to visit our Ukrainian allies and reassert our support for them as they continue to battle against an illegal and immoral invasion by Russia and its terrorist leader, Vladimir Putin, remarking:

“So I think while he’s over there, I and many Americans are thinking to ourselves, Okay, he’s very concerned about those borders halfway around the world. He’s not done anything to secure our own borders here at home.”

Ah yes, the old apples and oranges debate tactic, which only serves to prove what a completely unoriginal hack the Florida governor is.

DeSantis also mentioned fentanyl and Chinese balloons, adding this bit of red meat for the Fox viewers:

 “We have a lot of problems accumulating here in our own country that he is neglecting.”

So Russia isn’t a problem? Putin isn’t a threat? Not to hear Ron tell it:

“I think it’s important to point out, I mean, you know, the fear of Russia going into NATO countries and all that, and steamrolling, that has not even come close to happening.”

It’s not happening because President Biden has strengthened ties to our NATO allies and made it clear that if Russia even thinks of stepping one toe into a NATO country, he will bring hell down on himself and his country.

Ron DeSantis is the same as Trump in one important way that disqualifies him from ever being president: He’s a puppet for Putin. The entire GOP is in the Kremlin’s back pocket.

Don Jr. Gets Slammed For Calling Ukrainian President Zelensky A ‘Welfare Queen’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, telling U.S. lawmakers that “Your money is not charity. It is an investment in the global security and democracy that we handle in the most responsible way.”

But despite the fact that Russia continues to attack Ukraine and kill innocent civilians, some Republicans have been critical of the U.S. commitment to our Ukrainian allies.

One of those is none other than the son of failed, one-term, twice-impeached loser ex-president Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., who called Zelensky a “welfare queen” for daring to seek more military aid from the U.S.

On Twitter, Don Jr. posted this hateful missive:

“Zelensky is basically an ungrateful international welfare queen.”

The “welfare queen” slur was coined by Ronald Reagan during his first run for the White House in the 1970s. It was a direct attack on antipoverty programs that began during the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson to help rectify the injustices that led to the civil rights movement.

While Don Jr. is certainly entitled to his opinion, no matter how ignorant his take on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, he’s not exactly the one to be throwing stones at others, as Twitter users quickly reminded him.

Trump Could Have Gotten Paul Whelan Released From Russia In 2018 But Refused: Report

Disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump is absolutely furious that President Joe Biden was able to obtain the release of WNBA star Brittney Griner (in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout), and for the past two days has whined that the Biden administration should have prioritized former Marine Paul Whelan (who is also being held in Russia) over Griner.

Of course, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Trump would think Whelan is more valuable than Griner. After all, Whelan is a white man and Griner is a black woman.

According to Trump, he was able to get 58 hostages released while he was president, posting an angry message on his failing Truth Social site in which he wrote:

What Trump conveniently forgot to mention is that he had a chance to get the Whelan released back in 2018 but refused, according to his former national security adviser, John Bolton.

The Independent reports:

Mr Bolton, who was the national security adviser under Mr Trump for 17 months from 2018 to 2019, told CBS that the Trump administration had the opportunity to trade Mr Whelan for convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout in 2018.

“The possibility of a Bout-for-Whelan trade existed back then and it wasn’t made, for very good reasons having to deal with Viktor Bout,” he said.

It should also be noted that Whelan’s family is disgusted by Trump’s churlish posting, with his brother, David, posting on Twitter:

Former President Trump appears to have mentioned my brother #PaulWhelan’s wrongful detention more in the last 24 hours than he did in the 2 years of his presidency in which Paul was held hostage by #Russia (zero). I don’t suggest he cares now any more than he did then (zero)

Trump doesn’t give a diddly damn about Paul Whelan. If he did, he would have made a deal four years ago and gotten him home. Instead, he’d rather try and make political hay now and pretend it’s not his fault that Whelan is still in a Russian prison.

Donald Trump is a coward, a liar, and the worst president in U.S. history. His attempts to refurbish his self-sullied reputation are little more than the rantings of a man who is losing what’s left of his demented and diseased mind.

Trump Wanted To Trade Mar-a-Lago Files For ‘Sensitive Documents’ About His Ties To Russia: Report

Disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump told aides that he wanted to make a deal with the National Archives to return classified and top secret documents he stole from the White House and spirited away to his Mar-a-Lago resort in exchange for “sensitive” documents that he was convinced would prove his 2016 campaign did not conspire with Russia to guarantee he was elected.

According to Maggie Haberman and Michael Schmidt of The New York Times:

Mr. Trump, still determined to show he had been wronged by the F.B.I. investigation into his 2016 campaign’s ties to Russia, was angry with the National Archives and Records Administration for its unwillingness to hand over a batch of sensitive documents that he thought proved his claims,” before adding, “In exchange for those documents, Mr. Trump told advisers, he would return to the National Archives the boxes of material he had taken to Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Fla.

Trump’s aides “never pursued” his harebrained plan, but the very mention of such a scheme “…demonstrates how Mr. Trump spent a year and a half deflecting, delaying and sometimes leading aides to dissemble when it came to demands from the National Archives and ultimately the Justice Department to return the material he had taken, interviews and documents show.”

In doing so, Trump may have opened members of his staff and even his attorneys up to charges of obstructing justice, if only because they didn’t immediately report his actions to federal authorities.

The Justice Department believes the failed ex-president still has classified materials in his possession, according to a separate report from The Times.

A top Justice Department official told former President Donald J. Trump’s lawyers in recent weeks that the department believed he had not returned all the documents he took when he left the White House, according to two people briefed on the matter.

The outreach from the official, Jay I. Bratt, who leads the department’s counterintelligence operations, is the most concrete indication yet that investigators remain skeptical that Mr. Trump has been fully cooperative in their efforts to recover documents the former president was supposed to have turned over to the National Archives at the end of his term.

Trump Says He’s The Perfect Person To Negotiate A Peace Deal Between Russia And Ukraine

Disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump is now proposing that he head a U.S. delegation to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

A day after reports that explosions had damaged and disabled the Russian Nordstream pipelines in what European leaders are calling sabotage, the failed ex-president went on his failing Truth Social site and posted this message:

U.S. “Leadership” should remain “cool, calm, and dry” on the SABOTAGE of the Nord Stream Pipelines. This is a big event that should not entail a big solution, at least not yet. The Russia/Ukraine catastrophe should NEVER have happened, and would definitely not have happened if I were President. Do not make matters worse with the pipeline blowup. Be strategic, be smart (brilliant!), get a negotiated deal done NOW. Both sides need and want it. The entire World is at stake. I will head up group???

Despite suspicions that Russia disabled the Nordstream pipelines, Fox News host Tucker Carlson said Tuesday evening on his show that he believes the Biden administration might be responsible, according to Mediaite:

Recent explosions that reportedly disabled the pipeline did not earn much coverage in the United States until Carlson opened his top-rated show covering it and pointing the finger at the Biden administration for what he suggested was a climate catastrophe.  Given Carlson’s documented proclivity for supporting Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Trump’s doing the same, it might be wise to keep powder dry on laying blame on anyone at this point, but it is definitely a story to continue to track.

By all means, let’s send a man who repeatedly kowtows to Putin on every issue to sell out our Ukrainian allies. What could possibly go wrong, other than Trump helping to craft a “deal” that would result in Ukraine having to give up 90% of its territory to the mass murdering megalomaniac who may have dirt on the former president?
