Erin Burnett Says Her Former Colleague Maria Bartiromo Has ‘Lost Her Way’

There was a time several years ago when Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo and CNN host Erin Burnett were working for the same network, CNBC.

Since then, Burnett has gone on to host an evening show on CNN while Bartiromo currently works for Fox News, where she regularly disseminates all sorts of bizarre right-wing conspiracy theories.

Speaking with David Axelrod on The Axe Files, Mediaite reports, Burnett said she truly believes that Bartiromo has “lost her way.”

“I always thought her greatest strength was that she was a hard worker and I feel that she lost her way. Clearly, she’s lost her way. I’m obviously not personally close to her, but I think it’s sad what has happened to be honest because she was a very hard worker.”

Axelrod asked Burnett if she thought the two were in direct competition with each other during their time together at CNBC. She responded:

“We definitely were, and I don’t know, maybe as life goes on I’ll get more perspective on it, I think there is a desire out there for there to be a women versus women thing. I hope that that’s lessened over time, but when I was there that was certainly part of it.”

Recently, Bartiromo had this to say on her show:

“Some people have told me … this administration does not see Putin as the enemy, they see him as a partner on many issues.”

Really? Then why is the Biden administration arming the Ukrainian freedom fighters and the president making it clear he sees Putin as a war criminal? Bartiromo’s comment sounds like something she made up and decided to share with faithful Fox viewers who believe whatever BS the network is selling.

Maria Bartiromo is a hack. And she hasn’t only lost her way. She clearly sold her soul the day she arrived at Fox.

Bartiromo Screamed At Barr When He Refused To Steal The 2020 Election For Trump: Report

Fox News host Maria Bartiromo got into an enraged shouting match with then-Attorney General William Barr because he refused to say there had been widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election, according to a new book from Jonathan Karl that will be released on Tuesday.

CNN reports that Bartiromo was livid that Barr wouldn’t join the attempt by some in the Trump administration to delegitimize the results which clearly showed Joe Biden would be the next president:

“Betrayal,” by ABC’s chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl, highlights Bartiromo’s damaging role as a promoter of reckless lies about the election.

In the book, which comes out on Tuesday, Karl writes that “Bartiromo had once been a widely respected and trailblazing financial journalist. As a correspondent for CNBC, she was the first television reporter to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Now she had her own show on Fox News and she was using it to boost a series of unfounded allegations designed to overturn a presidential election.”

Barr confirmed to Karl that the conversation with Bartiromo did indeed take place and that he refused to budge when she demanded he cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election:

“She called me up and she was screaming,” Barr told Karl on the record. “I yelled back at her. She’s lost it.”

Karl said he reached out to Bartiromo for a response, because, “after all, it’s highly inappropriate for a journalist to call the attorney general and demand he do something related to a criminal investigation.”

“Bartiromo did not respond,” Karl wrote, “but a Fox News spokesperson did get back to me and denied Barr’s account of the conversation on Bartiromo’s behalf.”

As we long suspected, Fox News and other right-wing media outlets such as Newsmax and One America News were all part of the larger conspiracy to stage a coup that would allow Trump to remain in power indefinitely. The riots at the Capitol on Jan. 6 were also part of that plot, and are being investigated by the House Select Committee.

Every single person who played any role in the attempt to destroy this republic and our representative democracy should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That includes Maria Bartiromo, who should also be shown the door by Fox.

Clueless Bartiromo Asks Jim Jordan Why There’s No Money For The Border Wall In Biden’s Infrastructure Bill

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo said Sunday she simply cannot understand why 13 House Republicans voted for President Joe Biden’s $1.2 billion infrastructure bill, which will be signed by the president on Monday at the White House. After all, she noted, it didn’t contain any funding for the border wall that was one of former President Donald Trump’s pet projects.

On “Morning Futures,” Bartiromo told Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH):

“Where is the accountability? What would your colleagues, thirteen Republicans, vote for this bill when there is not a dime in it for the border wall?”

Jordan seemed unsure why Bartiromo was attacking him for what his colleagues did:

“Yeah, I mean, I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I wish they wouldn’t have voted for it. I wish this thing hadn’t have passed, there is simply no accountability for how we spend taxpayer dollars in the Biden administration.”

Those 13 Republicans voted for the infrastructure bill because they know it’s going to be good for their districts and states. Even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) called the package a “godsend” for his state:

“We have a lot of infrastructure needs, both in rural areas and with big bridges. It’s a godsend for Kentucky.”

The wall, on the other hand, was never anything but a political stunt by Trump to appeal to his racist base of supporters who hate the very thought of anyone being allowed to seek a better life in the United States, even though most of us wouldn’t be here now were it not for immigration.

Sorry, Maria, but your question is almost a stupid as your opposition to rebuilding the roads, bridges, and other crumbling infrastructure in this country.

Maria Bartiromo Gets Shredded For Pushing New And ‘Incredibly Sick’ Capitol Riot Conspiracy

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo set off a firestorm of criticism on social media Sunday for a conspiracy theory she pitched during an interview with failed, one-term former President Donald Trump.

Trump began the lying by asserting that the government official who shot Capitol insurrectionist Ashli Babbitt “was the head of security for a certain high official. A Democrat. It’s gonna come out.”

That was all Bartiromo needed to start spewing bullshit, claiming (with zero substantiation) that she had asked Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for “answers,” but had been rebuffed by the senator.

But as many on Twitter pointed out, both Trump and Bartiromo are both clearly trying to incite more violence. One Twitter user noted:

“This is incredibly sick stuff. Maria Bartiromo’s show has become the go-to platform for the most malevolent garbage the MAGA crowd wants to circulate.”

Others also lit up Bartiromo (who pretends to be a journalist) for her irresponsible remarks:

Maria Bartiromo Pitches A Fit As Her Jan. 6 Lies Come Back To Bite Her Squarely On The A*s

One thing you have to give to Fox News: No one hires more delusional crazies than Rupert Murdoch. From Tucker Carlson to Sean Hannity, the Fox hosts and “reporters” are all cut from the same batshit bonkers bolt of cloth.

One of the Fox conspiracy theorists who sometimes gets lost in the hoopla generated by the network’s primetime stars is Maria Bartiromo, who is normally seen on Fox Business but also has a show that runs on the main Fox network two each weekend.

Bartiromo was in rare form recently, inviting Moscow’s favorite senator, Ron Johnson (R-WI) to join her as they both suggested that the January 6 Capitol insurrection was non-violent because the rioters weren’t carrying guns, with the host telling Johnson:

“Armed insurrection is what Nancy Pelosi keeps calling Jan. 6, Senator. How many guns were actually taken up on that day since she says it was armed?”

Johnson was only too happy to extrapolate on what Bartiromo had just said, adding:

“They always talk about thousands of armed insurrectionists. I asked the FBI witness. Not one gun was recovered either in the Capitol or on the Capitol grounds, according to the FBI witness. So that’s just one of the latest big lies.”

Thing is, PolitiFact says Johnson and Bartiromo’s claims that none of the insurrectionists were armed is a blatant lie and earned the site’s “Pants On Fire Rating.” They noted:

“Police stopped only a fraction of the violent protestors Jan. 6, but we still know of guns and explosives seized in and around the Capitol. And we know rioters brought knives, brass knuckles a stun gun, and other weapons. Just as notable, video plainly shows the mob using all manner of makeshift weapons to attack police and force their way in, including hockey sticks, flagpoles, fire extinguishers, and a police shield stolen from an officer.”

All of this led to Bartiromo having an on-air meltdown as she acknowledged that she too has been criticized for things she says about the rioting that led to the deaths of five people, including a police officer. Bartiromo told her viewers:

“I am so incredibly proud of this team on Sunday Morning Futures and of working alongside you. We have been telling every story. We’ve been on the right side of it for seven years going. I’ve been trashed every day along the way.

“Keep trashing me! I’ll keep telling the truth.”

Actually, Maria, no one has to try and trash you. You’re doing a helluva fine job of trashing what’s left of your pathetic career.
