Conservatives Pitch A Hysterical Fit After Karine Jean-Pierre Is Featured In Vogue Magazine

It’s truly incredible to see what angers and vexes conservatives.

For example, almost every conservative gets upset if you make a joke about former president Donald Trump, whom many of them regard as second only to Ronald Reagan when it comes to being a champion for the right wing political movement.

That slavish devotion to Trump extends to members of his family, including his wife, Melania, who is often compared to former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, even though Mrs. Kennedy never worked as a nude model or supported her lavish lifestyle by allegedly serving as an “escort” (i.e. call girl) before she married her husband.

Melania, it should be noted, was never invited to grace the cover of Vogue magazine. Michelle Obama did. So has Dr. Jill Biden. And the so-called “snubbing” of Mrs. Trump absolutely enraged the MAGA faithful.

Having laid down that predicate background, the latest soul-rending anger from conservatives comes after White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was featured in Vogue, with the magazine reporting:

That quality of directness—blunt, with a touch of compassion—is Jean-Pierre’s currency at the briefing podium. She meets the White House press corps almost daily—favoring bright colors and bold eye shadow when she does—and, while she’s more reserved than some of her predecessors and less likely to respond to provocation with a social media–ready retort, she has sharpened her own technique: disarm with a smile, then lay out the facts at hand.

Still, there was no actual interview process in the lead-up to her promotion. News had already leaked that Psaki would leave for an anchor position at MSNBC, prompting speculation about a successor; Jean-Pierre was the obvious front-runner, and after a month, Biden called her into the Oval Office.

“It happened fast,” Jean-Pierre says. “The president and I had 20 seconds together.” 

“I remember she described her feeling as shell-shocked,” Psaki says. “It’s a little bit of an out-of-body experience when the president of the United States asks you to do something.”

“You’re kind of like, ‘Were there supposed to be fireworks happening? Mood music?’ ” Jean-Pierre says now. “There was none of that.” The press release came out a few minutes later.

Jean-Pierre, the daughter of Haitian immigrants who was raised in Paris and New York, is the prototypical American success story. What she’s accomplished should be celebrated as proof that the American dream does indeed still exist.

Unless, of course, your mind and heart are filled with envy, hate, bigotry, and bile. In other words, unless you’re a conservative, in which case you lash out and attack a person for their sexual orientation and the color of their skin, which is exactly what’s taking place on social media.

Right-Wing Group Led By Stephen Miller Files Complaint Against Pop-Tarts For Trying To ‘Sexualize’ Kids

If you thought that you’d heard all of the bizarre and outlandish bullshit that right-wing extremists have to offer when it comes to their efforts on the culture war, consider what a group led by former Trump administration official Stephen Miller is trying to do.

On Thursday, America First Legal filed a federal civil rights complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, urging the EEOC to investigate Kellogg Co.’s (the parent company of such well-known food brands as Pop-Tarts and Cheez-Its) policies and programs that it described as “infused with woke ideology,” according to HuffPost.

Yep, your entire pantry is infested with “woke” products. Or so Miller and his fascist minions would have you believe.

The complaint itself reads like a checklist for conservative talking/whining points.

In a letter to the EEOC on Wednesday, America First Legal senior counselor Reed D. Rubinstein claimed that Kellogg’s “engages in unlawful employment practices by seeking to ‘balance’ its workforce based on race, color, national origin, and sex.”

The letter went on to note a number of diversity initiatives at the company, including one that strives to have 25% of “underrepresented talent” at the management level by the end of 2025.

The letter also stated concerns with a fellowship program for Black chefs at Kellogg’s and what the company has described as an “aspirational [goal] of gender 50/50 parity at the management level” by the end of 2025.

America First Legal also penned a letter to Kellogg’s CEO Steve Cahillane, accusing the company of having “hijacked the brand to advance an extreme political and social agenda.”

Striving for diversity and equality are now extreme? If so, count me as a proud member of the woke extremist contingency. And it’s safe to bet the majority of Americans feel the same way and aren’t about to toss out their breakfast foods just because Miller and his ilk have closed minds and corncobs up their asses.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: It Bothers Me When People Treat Me Like I’m ‘A Crazy Person’

Apparently under the mistaken impression that Festivus comes early this year, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) showed up on Alex Jones’ “InfoWars” show and began airing her grievances in a disgusting display of self-pity.

Among Greene’s complaints was that people treat her like she’s a “crazy person.”

As the old saying goes, If the shoe fits.

Greene told Jones that it “just bothers me so much” that people treat her like she’s crazy, adding it’s almost as if she has “three horns” coming out of her head.”

Jones also asked Greene who she considered to be “more evil,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) or Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). The Georgia Republican didn’t hesitate to choose McConnell:

“Mitch McConnell lies to your face … he’s married to Elaine Chao, and they are bought and paid for by China.”

Granted, the congresswoman is entitled to her opinion on the AOC-McConnell debate, but her suggestion that it hurts her when people treat her like she’s lost her mind is her fault. Consider these past incidents from Greene:

  • She has suggested that the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States were a hoax.
  • Greene said “Jewish space lasers” were responsible for wildfires in California.
  • Just last month the congresswoman was suspended from Twitter for pushing conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and COVID vaccines.

So is Marjorie Taylor Greene crazy? To paraphrase Forrest Gump, Crazy is as crazy does. And there’s few people who act as deranged as Greene.

Former Congressman Mocks Casey DeSantis As ‘America’s Karen’ For Endorsing Right-Wing Culture Wars

Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis made it clear this week that she wholeheartedly supports the right-wing culture wars her husband Ron has made the centerpiece of his campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, despite polls showing that such an approach is not the least bit popular with most voters.

Mrs. DeSantis even went so far as to launch what she calls “Mamas for DeSantis,” MSNBC’s Ja’han Jones reports.

Casey DeSantis, wife of Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, is set to relaunch a group focused on portraying her husband as a friend to “mamas” everywhere, as his presidential campaign struggles with severe image problems.

She first launched “Mamas for DeSantis” — which appears to be a Moms for Liberty knockoff — to aid her husband’s gubernatorial re–election bid in 2022. At the time, Casey DeSantis claimed her goal was to sign up “a million mamas across the state of Florida.” She’s slated to relaunch the group at an Iowa campaign stop on Thursday — her first solo appearance on the campaign trail.

But as former Florida congressman David Jolly noted Saturday during an appearance on MSNBC, all Casey DeSantis is managing to do is reinforce why so many people will never cast a ballot for her husband.

“Casey DeSantis is a fairly compelling political figure in Florida and now nationally. For many, she’s the brighter side to Florida’s angry governor. For others, she’s become America’s Karen. And I think that’s the ultimate disconnect here with a campaign that needs to embrace more constituencies to get to the White House.”

Jolly added:

“Look, she is a more effective messenger than Ron DeSantis, but if all she is doing is amplifying the wrong message, she’s actually clarifying Ron DeSantis’ weaknesses. And so this, this ideology — the DeSantis doctrine, if you will — that our culture wars are the most pressing moments, and we are going to invent these culture wars to terrify voters? That’s simply not a message that resonates. So as I like to say, it doesn’t matter if it’s presented in heels or boots, the DeSantis doctrines are losing one. We’re gonna learn that the more Casey DeSantis gets out there.”

Conservative commentator Tara Setmayer echoed Jolly’s remarks.

 “I called her, I called her this, you know, ‘Serena Waterford wannabe’ needs to cut it out. We see you. So there’s all kinds of names for her. She needs to stop trying to measure the drapes in the White House and think that she’s some kind of Jackie O. reincarnate. I mean, Casey DeSantis. Keep an eye on her though. She’s a wiley figure.”

Casey DeSantis is America’s Karen, and that’s one nickname that’s going to stick.

The Conservative Conspiracy Theories For Why The Titan Sub Failed Are BEYOND Ridiculous

Even though it remains unclear exactly what caused the “catastrophic implosion” of the Titan submersible that led to the deaths of five people, conservatives, right-wingers, and other extremist nutjobs have already come up with a reason: Wokeness.

No, it wasn’t being 13,000 feet under the ocean that caused the Titan to sink and never resurface. It was being “woke.”

HuffPost notes:

But conservatives had another theory. Could the sub have disappeared because OceanGate’s CEO went “woke”?

Wokeness has become a new boogeyman for the right, and no one is safe — even in a case like this, with five people believed to have lost their lives in the deep sea.

Fox host Jesse Watters had this to say about wokeness and the Titan sub and OceanGate Expeditions CEO Stockton Rush, who led the mission:

“There’s been lawsuits, there’s been accusations about slashing regulations. He’s (Rush) quoted as saying he didn’t hire a bunch of 50-year-old white guys with military experience because he didn’t want his vessels to be not inspirational for a younger generation.”

“I don’t care who is in these vessels, I just want them to be experienced and safe. And if you’re gonna be woke, you might have to —”

What Jesse? Go broke? Isn’t that the saying? Or in this case were you suggesting that to go woke is to die?

Right-wing agitator and social media shitposter Charlie Kirk concurred with Watters, “If it is true, this person tragically passes away, the CEO of OceanGate and he says that he was choosing and selecting his personnel based on not wanting to have 50-year-old white guys, then you could make the argument, albeit rather cruel and blunt, he killed himself and his customers with wokeness.” 

As if that’s not bad enough, there’s also the “blame Biden” contingency of the far right that’s suggesting President Joe Biden tried to hide that the Titan sub had failed sooner than announced because he was trying to distract the public from the recently guilty plea entered by his son, Hunter, for failing to pay taxes and illegal possession of a handgun, Newsweek notes.

Wokegate or Bidengate? Does it really matter? The right-wing echo chamber will have a new “theory” pretty soon and it’ll be even more delusional than the ones they’re already pushing.
