Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) felt a need to prove that Republicans lie about everything and also demonstrate her complete ignorance of mathematics with a bizarre tweet she sent out Monday.
According to Lesko, 1 billion migrants have been apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border over the past six months.
The correct number, as the Wall Street Journal article Lesko cited explains, is 1 million, which is a large number, but nowhere near 1 billion.
Newsweek notes that while apprehensions are up at the border, they’re most certainly not at 1 billion:
Under Title 42, border agents can turn away most migrants, including asylum seekers. According to the CBP, out of a total of 221,303 migrants stopped by Border Patrol at the southern border, half were processed for expulsion under Title 42.
Since October, Border Patrol agents have arrested more than one million people. In March alone, the number of people arrested while attempting to illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border was 209,906, while 11,397 migrants were allowed into the country.
Also, if more people are being apprehended by the Border Patrol, doesn’t that suggest the system is working?
It didn’t take long before Lesko was lit up on Twitter for her bogus numbers.

In what may wind up being the ultimate irony of 2022, Fox News host Jeanine Pirro says she’s worried that some of the immigrants coming into the United States may have a drinking problem.
As The Wrap notes, Judge Jeanine made her remarks on the Fox show “The Five.”
“[Biden] is opening up the borders to people we don’t even vet. We don’t know who among them is a criminal, who among them is a pedophile, who’s an alcoholic, who likes children, who is convicted of murder, who’s a Latin King. Don’t we have a right to know that?”

Back in 2017, Pirro was ticketed for driving much faster than the posted speed limit:
The former district attorney, whose show “Justice with Judge Jeanine” is a staple of the Fox News channel, was ticketed by a state trooper Sunday for driving 119 mph in the Southern Tier town of Nichols.
Pirro, 66, was pulled over at 1:15 p.m. on Route 17, said a spokeswoman for the state police. The speed limit there is 65 mph.
Imagine if Pirro had been drunk when she was going that fast!
It didn’t take long before internet karma caught up with Judge Jeanine for her “alcoholic” remark regarding those immigrating to the U.S.

Someone really needs to stage an intervention for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) because he’s starting to sound like some of the deranged primetime hosts on Fox News and is even fabricating facts and figures, much like his good “friend,” the failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president, Donald Trump.
Matter of fact, Graham was appearing in Sean Hannity’s show when he began spinning a bizarre (and mostly fact-free) tale about Brazilian immigrants coming into the United States so they can make their way to Connecticut.
Yes, he really said that.
Specifically, Graham told Hannity:
“Now, what [Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas did today, calling off all the raids of worksite, is going to be another incentive for people to come, because the word is out. You come, you claim asylum, you never leave. The policy choices of Biden are all over the world now.
“We had 40,000 Brazilians come through the Yuma Sector alone headed for Connecticut wearing designer clothes and Gucci bags. This is not economic migration anymore.
“People see an open America. They’re taking advantage of us. And it won’t be long before a terrorist gets in this crowd.”

A terrorist? You mean like the group of Proud Boy domestic terrorists who showed up at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and proceeded to engage in all sorts of illegal behavior, including the beating of numerous law enforcement officers? No need for them to immigrate because they’re already here even though every last one of them needs to be in prison for the next 100 or so years.
The Washington Postwas unable to verify Graham’s massive lie, but a spokesperson for the senator was only too happy to double down on the fabrication:
Kevin Bishop, a spokesman for Graham, defended the senator’s comments, citing what he saw during his recent trip to the border and news reports about Brazilian immigrants. Bishop also provided photographs of luggage and shoes taken at the border.
“They have had thousands of Brazilians coming through there,” Bishop said. “As Senator Graham noted in Yuma, the luggage was nicer than his own.”
None of the luggage in the photos provided to The Washington Post appeared to be Gucci. The most obvious clothing in the photos was a pair of fairly clean Puma tennis shoes without shoelaces.
Quite clearly, Lindsey made up his story just so he could go on Hannity’s show and terrify the gullible lemmings who watch the network and believe the BS they’re fed.
Twitter users, however, were only too happy to provide the mocking the senator so richly deserved:

Once again Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki had to take Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, and when she was finished, Doocy was babbling like a four-year-old.
The confrontation came when Doocy asked about foreign nationals coming into the United States and whether or not they are being asked to provide evidence they don’t have COVID-19 or have been vaccinated:
“Is someone asking the foreign nationals for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test?”
Psaki began to respond:
“Well, first of all, I can walk you through the steps.”
Doocy interrupted:
“That’s the policy for people who fly into the country. So why if somebody walks into the country right across the river, does somebody ask them to see their vaccination card?”
“Let me explain to you again, Peter, how the process works, as the individuals come across the border and assessed if they have symptoms, and if they have symptoms they are quarantined. That is the process. They are not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time.”
And yet, Doocy still couldn’t comprehend what he’d just been told:
“But they’re here. What’s the difference?”
Clearly annoyed by Doocy’s inability to grasp what she was saying, Psaki told him:
“It’s not the same thing. These are individuals — as we’ve noted and has been discussed — we are expelling individuals based on Title 42 because of Covid, because we want to prevent a scenario where large numbers of people are gathering, posing a threat to the community and also to the migrants themselves.
“So those are the policies that we’ve put in place, because the CDC continues to recommend Title 42 be in place, given we’re facing a global pandemic.”
Apparently, Peter Doocy hasn’t bothered to look at today’s news and see that the United States is expelling Haitian refugees who are seeking to come into the country at this time. But what can be done about the unvaccinated Americans who refuse to do their part and get the shot? What can we do about Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News and their bullshit lies/conspiracy theories about the COVID vaccine?
Doocy works at Fox, so it’s safe to bet he’s been vaccinated because Fox has a vaccine mandate. How’s that for hypocrisy?
Joe Biden won the 2020 election. That’s a certified fact that no right-winger can possibly dispute.
And yet, to hear a lot of the Trumpers tell it, Biden should be following up on his predecessor’s policies and make sure they’re seen through to a conclusion.
Such is the case with Trump’s infamous wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, funding for which has been eliminated by Biden because it’s a massive waste of money and won’t actually work, not to mention that the majority of Americans don’t support building such a structure.
But to hear Trump adviser Jason Miller tell it, Biden should at least agree to paint the sections of the wall that were built while Trump was still president.
According to Mediaite, Miller had this to say on The Michael Berry Show:
“All of his hard work. They won’t even paint the wall. They were supposed to paint the wall this month. So it would be a black color as opposed to the rust color because elements and such. And Biden has even stopped that.”
If the wall is so damn effective and awesome, why does it need to be painted? Will the paint magically deter those seeking to enter the United States? And why should another dime be spent on this waste of taxpayer funds?
Miller went on to whine about the way the Biden administration is handling the surge of immigrants coming to the border and seeking asylum:
“To make matters worse, Joe Biden throws gasoline all over the fire by putting Kamala Harris, Mrs. Open Borders herself, in charge of the entire Southern border? I mean if this doesn’t scare the you-know-what out of you, it should.”
First of all, there is no crisis on the border. What’s happening is a seasonal influx of immigrants and it takes place each and every year.
Also, Joe Biden won the election by being the antithesis of Donald Trump. So why in the world he suddenly start carrying on Trump’s policies?
