WATCH Maria Bartiromo Get Called Out When She Lies About Inflation Being All Biden’s Fault

Even though she’s supposed be an “expert” on economics and finance, Fox host Maria Bartiromo got caught blatantly lying about the cause of inflation Sunday morning and called out by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA).

Khanna was a guest on “Sunday Morning Futures,” and Bartiromo claimed that President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 relief package “was the beginning of inflation getting stoked.”

The congressman told Bartiromo:

“Maria, just to be factual on inflation, there was $3 trillion of spending under President Trump. And yes, there was spending under Joe Biden. But it is unfair to say that it’s just the spending under Biden that somehow caused the inflation and not under Trump.”

Bartiromo interrupted to interject:

“Just to be clear, I’m looking specifically at the numbers and when we look at the inflation timeline, which was the handover from President Trump to President Biden. … By the time that we got to July of 2021, inflation was at 5.5%. Then the Democrats led the infrastructure package. That was signed into law November 21 and inflation was up to 6.8%. By March of 2022, right after the invasion by Russia, inflation was at 7.9% and today we are 8.6%

“So we’re up to 9.1%, Congressman, with all of this spending.”

Once more, Khanna countered expertly:

“But, Maria, you know correlation and causation are different. You can’t say that Trump sending stimulus checks in December of 2020 was not inflationary and somehow Biden doing in March was inflationary.

“What happened is we got out of Covid. And that increased demand and the supply was constrained and the Fed policy was wrong.”

Bartiromo also neglected to mention that the U.S. economy was in a jobless recession when Trump left office, as Fortune reported in January of 2021:

In a two-month period, February to April 2020, the unemployment rate soared to an 80-year high and the number of employed Americans fell from 152.5 million to 130.3 million. Those 22.2 million job losses set U.S. employment back to 1999 levels.

Since, the economy has moved from contraction to expansion and seen 12.3 million jobs return. However, it hasn’t been enough to offset the job losses that occurred during the pandemic.

That means that Trump will become the first post–World War II president to see employment fall during his presidency. It last occurred when Herbert Hoover left office in 1933 amid the early years of the Great Depression.

Trump bungled the U.S. response to COVID-19, and that caused massive economic disruption, part of which we are experiencing even now.

Nice try, Maria, but you’re just as full of crap as Trump himself, who continues to lie about the economy doing better with him as president than ever in U.S. history. It didn’t, and he will always be a one-term, twice-impeached loser.

As Gas Prices Fall, Fox News Is Suddenly Worried It May Harm ‘Mom-And-Pop Gas Stations’

For months now, Fox News has bemoaned the high price of gasoline and the economic impact on Americans, which they maintain is the fault of President Joe Biden, despite the fact that no president has the ability to control the price of fuel or any other commodity.

Gas prices are now falling across the country, and the price per gallon has dropped over the past month from highs of $5+ a gallon to below $4 in some states.

Is Fox celebrating the decrease in gas prices? Of course not! Now they’re whining that the downturn in pump prices could be bad news for “mom-and-pop gas stations.”

Justin Baragona of The Daily Beast notes that “America Reports” co-hosts Sandra Smith and John Roberts were discussing the downturn in gas prices Monday:

Co-anchor John Roberts finally broke the news to Fox News viewers that the price of gas was “creeping back down” near his home. His colleague Sandra Smith, however, suggested that this may not be entirely a good thing.

“It is. It is,” she noted. “And the point was made over the weekend, I believe it was the Wall Street Journal, that gas prices are actually coming back down historically faster with the price of oil than usual.”

Smith continued: “And it just goes to show you what an incredible risk-reward calculation has to happen on the part of those small—independently owned, most of them—mom-and-pop gas stations. It’s a struggle for all of them!”

The Wall Street Journal article Smith referred to was almost as alarmist as the gang at Fox, reporting that gasoline prices quickly falling is “creating new headaches for the mom-and-pop entrepreneurs and other independent operators who run roughly half of U.S. gas stations,” adding that station owners risk “losing money on every new fuel order” they place.

Considering that those same gas stations have been making record profits for close to year now, it’s kind of difficult to feel the least bit sorry for them now that they’re seeing the laws of supply and demand hit them in the pocket the way they have consumers.

How long will it be before Fox is complaining that the sky’s too blue and puppies are way too cute?

Fox Host Is Furious A Museum Made Her Feel ‘Guilty’ About Slavery

“Fox & Friends” co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy is upset that she was made to feel “ashamed” and “guilty” when she visited Monticello, the home of late President Thomas Jefferson, and was told that Jefferson was a slaveholder.

Campos-Duffy’s fellow co-host, Pete Hegseth, began the whining by claiming the “whole tone” at Monticello has now turned to Jefferson’s owning of slaves:

“It’s overwhelmingly negative! You go to visit the legacy of Thomas Jefferson and you learn about what a terrible person Thomas Jefferson was.”

And then Campos-Duffy joined the conversation:

“I visited many of these homes. And that is definitely what I picked up from all of this, that there is a reorienting, reconstructing of the history to basically make sure that the idea that they had slaves is on the same level as what they did for our country.”

But she was far from finished, adding:

“There are slaves across human history. I get that. It’s a terrible history we should talk about but we should not feel guilty or ashamed of our leaders when we go and visit the people who brought us the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence. You leave feeling that way.”

Co-host Joey Jones then added his voice to the matter:

“These were great men as far as their ideas go but they were able to build this on the backs of slaves and we honor that. And we talk about that. That’s different than re-writing the importance of Jefferson, the importance of Washington or whoever it may be. And why have Monticello at all if you’re only going to use it for grievance?”

All of this, Campos-Duffy interjected, is part of a plan by the left to rewrite history:

“Where’s all this coming from? The homes of these presidents are being populated — this is a very diabolical plan on the part of the left. So what they’ve done is they’ve taken their donors on the left and they’ve populated the boards of these estates with leftists.”

Yes, let’s tell our children what a great man Thomas Jefferson was, but not that he owned slaves. They don’t need to know that the man who wrote “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” was, in a very real sense, a hypocrite. Better to just let them think Tom was a great guy and not explore the fact that he likely had children by at least one of the women he owned as a piece of property.

Conservatives are truth deniers who want to pretend the United States has never done anything wrong. But that’s not accurate. And if Rachel Campos-Duffy doesn’t like that fact, then she needs to stay away from Monticello, grab a fluffy blanket, and go find her safe space.

Fox’s Jesse Watters Launches A Sexist Attack On Cassidy Hutchinson And Gets Shredded On Twitter

Fox News host Jesse Watters (who has been called by some “Bill O’Reilly’s former fluffer”) is absolutely apoplectic that former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson dared to repeat something she heard took place on January 6, 2021 when she testified before the House Select Committee on Tuesday.

Specifically, Hutchinson said she had been told that failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump grabbed a Secret Service agent and ordered him to drive to the Capitol while also grabbing the steering wheel of the vehicle.

Keep in mind Hutchinson never claimed she had witnessed the altercation. She made it clear it was something that had been told to her by another person.

And now there are reports that the Secret Service and the agent in question are upset with what Hutchinson said and they’re pushing back by floating stories to the media but not bothering to actually sit down before the committee, be sworn to tell the truth, and testify.

That was the jumping off point for Watters, who began his rant with this:

“If you put up this Secret Service agent who says ‘This girl’s lying, I never said that.’ He’s got 20 years in the Secret Service. Guy’s got a ton of integrity. She’s fresh out of college. Who do you believe? He has a ton to lose by lying. She has a lot to gain by lying.”

So there’s no way a member of the Secret Service would ever lie? Not even to protect his career and not be publicly humiliated? Please! That’s just plain stupid on its face.

But Watters was far from done, adding:

“Look at her. She’s the new ‘it’ girl. She’s gonna get a job offer at CNN, she’s gonna be a contributor, she’ll probably get a book deal. And she’ll waltz around at every party in Washington. Never have to pay for another drink.”

Does it get more misogynistic than that? New “it girl”? Be sure and note the line about never having to pay for another drink, too. As if that’s why Ms. Hutchinson agreed to testify: Just so she could get free drinks.

Devin Nunes Gets Slammed By Fox Host For Saying Fox ‘Destroyed’ MSNBC By Refusing To Air Jan. 6 Hearings

Former GOP congressman and current Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes got a lot more than he bargained for when he suggested on Fox News that the conservative network had “destroyed” MSNBC with its decision not to air any of the January 6 committee’s public hearing on Thursday evening.

Nunes was a guest Sunday on “Media Buzz,” and he immediately told host Howard Kurtz that the recent hearings were biased and worthless because there are no supporters of failed former president Donald Trump on the Jan. 6 committee.

Kurtz countered by asking:

“Does that mean the media shouldn’t cover it much? Does it mean they should dismiss videotaped deposition from the likes of Bill Barr, Jason Miller, Jared Kushner?”

Nunes then tried to suggest that ratings for the hearing were a bust:

“To put this in primetime, the numbers were way down. So I don’t understand how these big corporations — I know it was spread across some 20 different networks — when you compare Fox News which didn’t which did not air that live, it just destroyed CNN and MSNBC in the ratings, right?”

But Kurtz wasn’t about to let Nunes blatantly lie about the ratings, countering him by noting:

“Networks like MSNBC did very well covering this hearing. Obviously, it would appeal to the liberal viewers of that network.”

As a matter of fact, 20 million people watched Thursday’s broadcast of the hearings. Fox, on the other hand, only drew about 3 million viewers:

According to the New York Times, at least 20 million viewers tuned in to watch the hearings. Only 3 million opted for Fox, which deliberately avoided televising the historic event.

An audience of at least 20 million people watched the first prime-time hearing of the House Select Committee’s investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on Thursday night, according to Nielsen.

ABC attracted the biggest audience, with 5.2 million viewers. NBC and CBS each had an audience of more than three million. MSNBC averaged more than four million, and CNN drew 2.7 million. (The 20 million figure did not yet include PBS, so the total audience was most likely a bit bigger.)

As usual, Nunes and the other pro-Trump Republicans would rather lie than face facts.
