MAGA Faithful Pillory Kevin McCarthy Online After He Admits Biden Was ‘Legitimately Elected’

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) did a complete 180 degree turn on Tuesday during an appearance on Fox News.

Speaking with Fox host Bret Baier, McCarthy was asked for his thoughts about failed, one-term former President Donald Trump’s continuing claims that he actually won the 2020 election and was cheated out of it, despite never providing a shred of evidence to support those assertions.

McCarthy told Baier:

“Joe Biden is the President of the United States. He legitimately got elected.”

McCarthy and Trump have what can best be called a love-hate relationship, as evidenced by reports that the two had a shouting match on the phone during the Capitol insurrection on January 6:

“‘When McCarthy finally reached the president on January 6 and asked him to publicly call off the riot, the president initially repeated the falsehood that it was antifa that had breached the Capitol,’ Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wa., said in a statement posted to Twitter on Friday night.

“At one point during the phone call, McCarthy told Trump: ‘Who the f—k do you think you are talking to?’ according to a Republican lawmaker briefed on the conversation.”

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that McCarthy is ready to move on, especially since he probably fears Trump might try another run at the White House in 2024, provided he isn’t in prison at the time.

But the MAGA faithful were outraged by what McCarthy said, and they took to Twitter to vent their anger and shed their tears:

Trumper tears are so damn sweet.

Former Federal Prosecutor Predicts Trump Will Be Charged For Inciting The Capitol Insurrection

A few weeks ago, we learned that the Justice Department had formally charged four more members of the Oath Keepers for their role in the Capitol insurrection which took place on January 6, with CNN reporting:

“The Justice Department has added four new defendants to the federal criminal conspiracy case against Oath Keepers who allegedly prepared for and took part in the US Capitol riot, according to a new indictment made public in DC District Court on Sunday.”

There are also reports that 510 individuals have been charged for their connection to the Jan. 6 incident at the Capitol:

“The number of people charged in the insurrection is expected to keep growing as FBI agents pore through video footage, social media posts, phone location data, and tips from the public.”

However, these latest developments beg a much larger question: Will failed, one-term former President Donald Trump be charged for inciting the thousands of his supporters who stormed the Capitol?

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner says he has no doubt that Trump will indeed be charged by the DOJ, telling SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah that the new charges against the Oath Keepers are very revealing:

“The date for the insurrection was chosen by Donald Trump, they were incited to violence by Donald Trump and I think you have all of the building blocks you need for a charge of inciting insurrection against Donald Trump. And as to seditious conspiracy, you know they’re still building to that. A conspiracy is an agreement between two or more people to commit a crime and then one of the conspirators taking an act toward the commission of that crime called an overt act.”

Kirschner added that there is other evidence to suggest a conspiracy:

“This is more of what I would say is a call and response conspiracy; the leader said I want you to come to DC, it will be ‘wild.’ I want you to assemble, now that you’re here I’m going to lift you up here are my mouthpieces: Don, Jr, Mo Brooks, Giuliani, they’re going to tell you things like go down there and have trial by combat, fight for your vote because they’re in that building stealing it. Now I, as the inciter in chief, am telling you get down to the Capitol and stop what’s going on in that building.”

All of this, Kirschner concluded, will leave Attorney General Merrick Garland no choice but to allow for charges to be brought against Trump for his role in the insurrection which led to the deaths of five people, including a police officer:

“Do you think that guy (Garland) is going to let Donald Trump bring our democracy to an end, he’s going to let the Republicans in Congress end the American experiment?! No way.

“They are building to charges against Donald Trump, I can feel it in my bones.”

It’s hard to disagree with Kirschner’s logic. After all, the insurrection would never have taken place had it not been for what Trump and others said at the White House shortly before the storming of the Capitol began. To allow Trump to get away with such actions would be to invite future, more hideous and deadly events.

The American republic is too precious to allow the horror Trump and his minions have already spawned to go unpunished.

Trump Spokesperson Tweets Out Link Calling His Election Fraud Claims ‘Lies’

On Saturday evening in Sarasota, Florida, failed, one-term loser former President Donald Trump held the latest of his pathetic “look at me!” rallies, going on for over an hour about how badly he’d been treated, how the indictment against the Trump Organization is a “witch hunt,” and telling the crowd he’s seriously considering another run for the White House in 2024.

Trump’s fading popularity and increasing irrelevance has even led to Fox News no longer covering his speeches and rallies, because all he does is lay out a list of grievances and whine about how everyone is against him.

Hoping to get her boss some extra PR, Trump’s latest spokesperson, Liz Harrington, tweeted a link to an article from AL.com about Donald’s Saturday night rant.

Problem is, the article she linked to clearly states that Trump’s claims of the election being stolen from him are “lies.”

Oh shit! That’s awkward as hell!

Specifically, the article contains this paragraph:

“Without evidence, Trump continued to peddle lies about the 2020 presidential election, calling it a ‘totally rigged and dishonest election.’ There has been no evidence of widespread voter fraud that would have affected the outcome of the election.”

That set off waves of laughter on social media:

Ms. Harrington might want to go ahead and start updating her résumé.

MAGA Faithful Claim The U.S. Military Is ‘Ready To’ Reinstate Trump As POTUS

If you thought you’d heard all of the crazy crap about the 2020 election and how failed, one-term former President Donald Trump will soon be “reinstated” to the presidency, the bizarre just turned surreal thanks to a meme circulating on social media that suggests the U.S. military is “ready to act” as soon as the Arizona election audit is complete and put the Donald back in the White House.

According to PolitiFact, the meme in question (which has made the rounds on Facebook most recently) also included a video with this line which is read by a narrator:

“This stuff is coming out and showing what actually happened with the 2020 election. So, this is what’s happening but the deep state on the other hand, they are panicking. The storm is on its way.”

There’s also this text on the meme:

“Military ready to act on audit results!”

PolitFact calls the meme “false” and adds:

“The text on the post leaves the impression that a military unit is preparing or has been asked to take some action when the results of the Maricopa audit are released. But we found no evidence of that.

“The statement on Facebook was posted as the monthslong review of 2.1 million ballots cast in the 2020 presidential election was winding down in Maricopa, the state’s largest county. The ballot review was organized by state Senate Republicans, with encouragement from former President Donald Trump.”

Donald Trump is not going to be reinstated as president. Not now and not ever. And the U.S. military only takes orders from one person: The legitimate commander-in-chief, President Joe Biden.

Homeland Security: Trump ‘Reinstatement’ Conspiracy Theory May Trigger Domestic Terrorism: Report

As the conspiracy theory that former President Donald Trump will be reinstated in August continues to gain traction on right-wing media and among some ardent Trump supporters, it’s also causing considerable concern among the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that it could touch off acts of domestic terrorism.

According to Politico, John Cohen, the top counterterrorism official at DHS, told members of the House Homeland Security Committee this week that the agency is watching chatter among “reinstatement” theorists carefully:

“In the briefing, Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) asked Cohen how DHS is following the spread of disinformation and conspiracy theories, as well as the way that discourse can fuel violence. She specifically brought up the conspiracy theory claiming Trump will be reinstated as president in August — a theory Trump himself has reportedly promoted.

“Cohen replied that DHS is not aware of any specific, credible threats of violence linked to the conspiracy theory about Trump being reinstated. But he added that DHS is following discussion of the topic online among extremist communities. And he said department officials are highly concerned about it because it fuels the false narrative that the election was rigged — a narrative that may trigger a violent response from extremists.”

This is what we’ve come to in the United States: Lies are spread on Fox News, Newsmax, and One America and then work their way into the morass of disinformation and virulent hatred that festers in online communities.

Perhaps the most fervent spreader of lies that Trump will be returned to the White House later this year is MyPillow founder and CEO Mike Lindell, who continues to move the goalposts when one deadline passes without the failed, one-term president being coronated as national potentate. Reportedly, even Trump is buying Lindell’s fact-free pronouncements:

“Lindell told The Daily Beast that Trump probably reached that conclusion because he has been promoting it.”

“If Trump is saying August, that is probably because he heard me say it publicly.”

The reinstatement lie has also gained traction among a large number of Americans, with almost one-third saying in a recent poll that they also believe Trump will be back as head of state sometime this year.

It remains to be seen how conspiracy theorists will react if Trump is indicted, which seems likely, but there have been warnings that action may also touch off acts of terrorism from Trump supporters.

Apparently, we now live in a country where millions of our fellow citizens are too damn lazy to search for the truth and too stupid to believe it when it’s right in front of them.
