‘Demoralized’ House Republicans Trying To Recover After Their Biden Impeachment Debacle

Six months ago, House Republicans announced they were starting an impeachment inquiry into alleged “high crimes and misdemeanors” committed by President Joe Biden which they claimed would result in his removal from office.

Now, however, it appears Republicans have nothing to show for their efforts except a hell of a lot of egg on their faces, with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) making it clear this week that he has no interest in bringing the matter to the floor of the House for an impeachment vote that would fail in humiliating fashion.

According to McKay Coppins of the Atlantic, the mood of GOPers in Congress has grown exceedingly dark.

Coppins was a guest on MSNBC’s “The Weekend” earlier today, and he explained,  “I think the White House smelled blood in the water, right? They saw Republicans were losing their will to continue with this.”

“I mean, you talk to Republicans on the Hill and they know that this is over, right?” he continued. “A lot of them knew it was a farce from the beginning but they were going along and saying what we can we dredge up? It was a fishing expedition on how to hurt President Biden during an election year but their star witness has fallen apart.”

Coppins added, “The impeachment has fallen apart in pretty embarrassing fashion. That’s why you see people like Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) just kind of completely demoralized. By all accounts, the [GOP] House conference was especially demoralized and embarrassed. You see Republicans wanting to retire and leave. I think the White House saw that.”

Just like everything they do in lieu of actually governing, today’s Republican Party is nothing but a vehicle for petty grievances, political payback, and childish whining. In other words, they’re just like the clown they’ve allowed to hijack their party and are preparing to nominate as their presidential candidate for the third time.

Tommy Tuberville Gets Dragged On Social Media For His ‘Garbage’ Attack On Joe Biden

Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville is facing a social media firestorm of his own creation after he called President Joe Biden a “garbage human being” on the Twitter/X platform in response to comments the president made in February about a report from Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Mediaite reports that Tuberville sent the tweet from his personal Twitter account.

Tuberville’s tweet was sent after the testimony of former Special Counsel Robert Hur regarding his findings on President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. A point of contention was Hur’s assessment of Biden’s “poor memory,” including a claim that Biden did not remember when his son Beau Biden died. Biden lashed out to the press following the release of the report, saying, “How in the hell dare he raise that?”

According to Tuberville, Biden’s remarks make him a “garbage human being.”

Tuberville’s disrespectful and tasteless posting didn’t sit well with many and resulted in the senator being pilloried online.

Trump Gives Himself An Absurd New Nickname As He Demands That Biden Agree To Debate Him

While most normal people were in bed asleep last night, failed one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump was wide awake and posting on his floundering Truth Social site.

What had Trump so enraged that he felt a need to express himself at such an ungodly hour? Well, it seems he’s afraid President Joe Biden will refuse to debate him, even though Trump himself repeatedly failed to show up for debates with his 2024 Republican challengers.

Trump began his post by mocking Minnesota Democratic Congressman Dean Phillips for dropping his primary challenge to Biden, even though Phillips did so a week ago.

Dean Phillips, who just “quit” in his hapless campaign against Crooked Joe Biden, was not very good at his craft, politics. In fact, I would say that he was far worse than the Republican challengers to me, with a few exceptions. I’ll give you those names if you like, but I’d rather get down to the serious business of defeating the worst President in the history of the United States, by far, Crooked Joe Biden!!! For the good of our now failing Nation, and in order to inform the American people of what is going on in our Country, we must immediately have a full scale debate between Crooked Joe and Honest Don. I’m ready to go, ANY TIME, ANY PLACE!

Honest Don? Really?! Wow! Talk about self-deluded. If there’s one thing Trump will never be known as, it’s honest. He’s been a liar his entire life, and he lies more often than he breathes.

Since Trump’s Truth Social posts are also shared on Twitter/X, response to his “Honest Don” claim and demand for debates with Biden was greeted with intense mockery.

WATCH: Registered Republican Tells GOP Congressman He’s Voting For Biden ‘Because I’m Christian’

A registered Republican voter told Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) on Monday that he’ll be voting for President Joe Biden in November instead of Donald Trump because he’s a Christian and cannot see himself casting a ballot for the failed one-term former president.

The comment came during a call-in segment on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal. The man, named Nick, said he was calling from Connecticut.

“I just wanted to speak with Mr. Biggs about the concept of being a Republican. And I’ve got to say, the state of this union is tremendous. We’re strong. We’re doing well.”

“And the divisiveness that I’ve seen from my party in the past 40 years has got me kind of puzzled,” he continued. “I just registered as a Republican two months ago for the fifth time, Mr. Biggs.”

“And I’m just going to leave you with this comment, and that is that I register as a Republican because I’m a conservative, and I’m going to vote for Joe Biden because I’m a Christian.”

Rather than address what the caller had said, Biggs suggested that Nick shouldn’t call himself a Republican or be a part of the GOP.

“Well, I think that’s really interesting,” Biggs remarked. “He probably should re-register as a Democrat.”

“I think if you’re not voting for Donald Trump because you think he’s not a Christian or not a moral man, I’m not going to say look at Joe Biden,” the lawmaker added. “I would just say we should all look at ourselves and see who’s casting the first stone.”

Biggs also laughingly suggested that Republicans aren’t to blame for the divisiveness seen in politics.

“I also would not say that all the division starts because of Republicans, to be frank with you. I think that’s a bit of an absurdity to say that. But anyway, he’s free to do what he wants.”

All of us registered to vote are free to do what we want, Congressman Biggs, and millions of us will cast our ballots for Joe Biden because he’s a decent human being, which is something Donald Trump will never be.

Biden Campaign Sets Fundraising Record After Triumphant State Of The Union Address

The Biden-Harris 2024 campaign set a fundraising record during and after President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Thursday evening.

MSNBC’s Jonathan Lemire noted Friday morning that the Biden camp had just released the dollar figures surrounding the speech.

“The Biden campaign let us let us know the 9:00 hour was the biggest fundraising hour of the campaign. Amending it later saying, actually, the 10:00 p.m. [hour] was more, the best two hours of the entire campaign last night.”

That news comes on top of fundraising numbers last month showing that the Biden-Harris team had raised $42 million for the reelection campaign and to benefit other Democrats on the 2024 ticket.

Lemire added, “They already walked into [Thursday] with a massive fundraising advantage over Donald Trump, who struggled to raise money. Also, because he had to devote so much of the money he’s raised to his legal bills. Even prior to last night, Democrats feel great about the speech, they felt like they had a significant financial advantage. They’re going to be able to bury Trump in ads.”

Meanwhile, the GOP is planning to use valuable campaign dollars to help pay former president Donald Trump’s massive legal bills, which led “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough to predict how Biden and the Democrats will use their fundraising advantage.

“It ain’t nothing that, last night, the 9:00 hour and then the 10:00 hour set fundraising records for a campaign that’s already set fundraising records for the most money ever raised. I think people at home, not just Democrats, but I’m sure Republicans, moderate Republicans, swing voters, independents, had to really, really like what they heard when Donald Trump once again had the contrast, time and again – somebody against freedom abroad, somebody that was against freedom at home. That’s when Joe Biden really brought it home. He talked about freedom abroad, but then he talked about freedom at home, and women’s freedom. Said back to the Supreme Court, ‘Oh, yeah, you say women? They have the right to express themselves politically? Stand back, because they’re just about to do that.'”

Money, the old expression goes, is the mother’s milk of any political campaign, and the massive advantage Biden has over Trump doesn’t bode well for what will happen to Republicans when voters go to the polls eight months from now.
