Mike Pence Gets Shredded After Attacking Biden’s Speech About MAGA GOP Extremism

Mike Pence joined a debate he should have left alone by criticizing a speech President Joe Biden made recently in which he criticized the extreme views of the MAGA Republicans who continue to remain loyal to Donald Trump and make excuses for his every illegal action.

In case you missed it, here’s what Biden said:

“What we’re seeing now is either the beginning or the death knell of extreme MAGA philosophy. It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the — I’m going to say something, it’s like semi-fascism.”

Pence, who is clearly trying to mend fences with the far right wing of his party that still worships Trump, took to Twitter and began slamming Biden for daring to speak the truth:

“Did you see that speech last week? President Biden held a partisan campaign rally at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, flanked by uniformed United States Marines, and revealed what’s truly at stake in the next election.”

“Never before in the history of our nation has a President stood before the American people and accused millions of his own countrymen of being a ‘threat to this country.’ To top it off, President Biden had the audacity to claim, ‘I’m asking our nation to come together, to unite.’”

Those are bold (and incredibly stupid) words coming from a man that Trump suggested might should have been hanged on January 6 to placate the rioting thugs who attacked the U.S. Capitol. As House Select Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney noted at a hearing in June:

“Aware of the rioters chants to ‘hang Mike Pence’, the president responded with this sentiment: ‘Maybe our supporters have the right idea’. Mike Pence ‘deserves it.’”

But now Pence wants to take umbrage with Biden for calling it like he sees it and making it clear to American voters what’s at stake when they go to cast their ballots in November?

The former VP’s postings raised eyebrows and ire on social media.

MAGA Voter Says She’s Sick And Tired Of All This Talk About ‘Democracy, Democracy, Democracy’

Proving yet again that all of their flag waving, scripture spouting, and endless rallies are nothing more than a cult, a panel of MAGA/Trump voters made it clear Sunday on “Face the Nation,” that they don’t give two hoots in hell about democracy or freedom. Instead, they just want their tangerine savior back in office, even if he wants to be the American Mussolini.

CBS News correspondent Major Garrett spoke with a panel of Trump voters and asked them about remarks made this week by President Joe Biden that the MAGA movement is “semi-fascist.”

A voter from Virginia named Mary remarked:

“Isn’t democracy arguing, debating? So if the precedent has been set that you can question elections — I mean, you can question everything in a democracy.”

She added:

“It’s getting — somebody like me who’s not a Republican or Democrat but I do support Trump — it’s getting really old hearing ‘democracy, democracy, democracy.’ Because what we’re doing is part of a democracy.”

Mary’s rant continued, and the more she spoke the more it became painfully obvious that the Trump faithful view the idea of democracy very differently than the rest of us:

“And the way Joe Biden is dividing and the Democrats use it as a weapon, the term democracy has become a weapon, and it just means that if you’re afraid that Republicans are a threat to democracy, what you’re telling me is you’re afraid Republicans are a threat to your power and your agenda. And so I think we need to go back and have a better understanding of what democracy actually is.”

Another member of the panel dismissed Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) prediction that there will be “rioting in the streets” if Trump is indicted for hoarding and mishandling classified documents at his Mar-a-Largo resort, explaining:

“If there was going to be any rioting in the streets it would be when the last election was stolen.”

Kayleigh McEnany’s Attack On President Biden Backfires On Her And Trump

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany probably thought she had the perfect way to attack President Joe Biden for his criticism of MAGA Republicans who are a threat to democracy in the United States, but her plan backfired badly and wound up reinforcing what Biden had said.

The president gave a speech addressing the attack on the American republic by those allied with ex-president Donald Trump who deny the results of elections, foment violence against anyone who disagrees with them, and defend even the most vile actions of their GOP colleagues.

Biden spoke from Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, warning:

“Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

The president added:

“MAGA Republicans have made their choice. They embrace anger. They thrive on chaos. They live not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies.”

That led McEnany to try and spin the current administration as the extremist element in the country, tweeting out:

Biden announces the official position of the White House: “Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundation of our republic.”

As HuffPost notes, there’s a lot of evidence to support what Biden said:

Last year, for the first time, the U.S. was listed as a “backsliding democracy” in a report by a European think tank as a result of developments during Trump’s administration. The report said Trump’s lies about the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election were a turning point that undermined trust in the nation’s electoral process and ultimately led to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol.

Since then, Trump and his allies have continued to undermine the voting process and elevate election-denying candidates, leading Biden and other Democrats to cast the 2022 midterm elections as a referendum on democracy itself.

It didn’t take long before McEnany got her comeuppance, with most respondents noting that what the president said was spot-on.

Naming Names: White House Lists The ‘Extreme’ MAGA Republicans Who Promote Violence

Republicans are beside themselves because President Joe Biden referred to some of the most extreme MAGA members of the party and their political leanings as “semi-fascism,” which is an apt description of the ones who urged the January 6, 2021 storming of the Capitol and were even given tours of the building just a day before the insurrection took place that left five people dead and caused millions of dollars in damage.

At Wednesday’s press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked by CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes to address the controversy which has arisen in response to the president’s remarks:

“Over the past week or so, we’ve heard many Republicans argue that this President ran a uniter. And now he’s calling MAGA Republicans, which is a very large swath of the American populace, ‘semi-fascists.’ He is arguing that they’re a threat to democracy. Does the White House believe that this is a fair criticism by Republicans that this is not unifying language?”

Jean-Pierre came prepared, responding with names and specifics:

“Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ) has posted videos depicting him attacking the President and members of Congress.

“You have Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) who has “publicly expressed support for shooting prominent Democratic elected officials and suggesting physically assaulting transgender school officials.

“You have Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), [who] has said falsely if our election system ‘continues to be rigged and continues to be stolen, then it’s going to lead to one place, and that’s bloodshed.’ And just last week, you had Governor Ron DeSantis suggesting that Dr. Fauci should be physically assaulted. And former President Trump has done the same many, many times.”

The press secretary also referenced a headline from the New York Times earlier this month:

“‘As right wing rhetoric escalates, so do threats and violence.’ And so these are things that we have to call out.”

Jean-Pierre concluded by noting:

“I was talking about the ‘soul of the nation,’ something the President has talked about since 2017. When he wrote that article in The Atlantic, and he’s called it out then, he called it out January 6, he called it out Inauguration Day. He called it out last week. He called it out yesterday. So there is been a consistent call out from the President, what he’s seeing from an extreme part of this party of the Republican Party. And historians, I would argue, would say the same.”

Ted Cruz Walks Right Into A Spectacular Self-Own When He Complains Joe Biden Doesn’t ‘Respect’ MAGA Republicans

Even though he never gives respect to anyone other than people who don’t deserve it (i.e. Donald Trump), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is angry with President Joe Biden for saying in a stump speech this week that he doesn’t “respect these MAGA Republicans.”

Why would anyone respect the members of a death cult? Are we supposed to respect Jim Jones and David Koresh? If so, count me out.

The MAGA Republicans are also cultish and devoted to the Donald and whatever he does or says. They would follow him off a cliff like lemmings if he told them to. So why do they deserve even a shred of respect?

That statement from the president led Cruz to respond.

Really, Ted? You’re going to take that attitude considering how you repeatedly disrespected Barack Obama and every other member of the Democratic congressional delegation?

Keep in mind just a few of the more disgusting things Cruz has said over the course of his political career:

  • Senator Ted Cruz, the conservative Texas Republican considering a run for the presidency, lashed out at President Barack Obama during a visit to New Hampshire on Sunday, saying his administration had repeatedly trampled on the Constitution.
  • According to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran is essentially financing terrorism. And he’s not backing down after the president called his comments “outrageous.”
  • In the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said President Obama is not interested in protecting the United States.

But now Cruz wants respect? Instead, he got hit with a Twitter two-by-four.
