There was a time not so long ago when Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had nothing but praise for President Joe Biden, hailing calling him “as good a man as God ever created.”
These days, however, no matter what Biden does, Graham is quick to attack him and suggest that he’s not nearly as effective as head of state as failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was.
Such is the case with a tweet Graham sent out referencing remarks Biden made on Thursday while at NATO headquarters in Brussels. Specifically, the president noted that Trump’s “both sides” comment after the Unite the Right rally in 2017 was what convinced him he needed to run in 2020.
That led Graham to weigh in with this:

South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham made a complete jackass out of himself at the second day of confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson on Tuesday.
What caused Graham to pitch a full-scale hissy fit? The fact that Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) dared to fact-check some of the absurd things Graham said about detainees at Guantanamo.
When Durbin began reading facts to refute what Graham had just said, Graham shouted:
“The system failed miserably and advocates to change this system like [the nominee] was advocating would destroy our ability to protect this country!”
His voice getting more shrill as he spoke, Graham then continued:
“We’re at war, we’re not fighting crime! This is not some passage of time event. As long as they’re dangerous, I hope they all die in jail if they’re going to go back to kill Americans. It won’t bother me one bit if 39 of them die in prison. That’s a better outcome than letting them go and if it cost $500 million to keep them in jail, keep them in jail because they’ll go back to the fight. Look at the freaking Afghan government made up of former detainees at Gitmo. This whole thing by the left about this war ain’t working.”
Durbin again began to respond with facts, which led Graham to leave the hearing in a huff like a spoiled child who didn’t get what he wanted at the grocery store.
During World War II, there was a saying that every American learned by heart as part of the effort to make sure the country was victorious: Loose lips sink ships. In other words, be careful what you say, because you never know who might be listening, including the Axis powers.
It’d be nice to think that members of the United States Senate would still abide by such advice, but Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), in an effort to pretend he’s a tough guy for his constituents back home, has been repeatedly going on television and saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to be killed.
On Twitter, Graham wrote:
“The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out. You would be doing your country – and the world – a great service.”

While the vast majority of us would indeed celebrate if Putin suddenly dropped dead, Graham’s very specific calls for someone to bust a cap in the Russian tyrant are dangerous to the United States, according to experts.
In an enlightening article for USA Today, Grace Hauck notes that she spoke with Anthony Arend, co-founder of the Institute for International Law & Politics at Georgetown University, who told her:
“There are so many dangerous aspects to his [Graham’s] comments.
“It sets the possible precedent that others will be able to look at the United States and say, ‘Well, they’re advocating it. Why don’t we simply move to a foreign policy that more broadly incorporates assassinations or targeting regime leaders?'”
Nika Aleksejeva, a researcher with the Digital Forensic Research Lab at the Atlantic Council, says Graham’s ill-conceived remarks also help Russia paint the U.S. as some sort of rogue nation:
“It gives Russia a particular case to point at. These comments are qualified as calls to terror attacks. It opens opportunity for disinformation to be later created based on this particular event.”
If Putin is to be removed from office and punished for his invasion of Ukraine, according to Kathryn Sikkink of Harvard Kennedy School, that needs to be done by the government that replaces him:
“If you’ve had leaders who’ve committed crimes, you want the new government to be able to put those leaders on trial and hold them criminally accountable using due process for crimes they’ve committed. And if you find them guilty, to sentence them and imprison them.”
Lindsey needs to shut the hell up unless he plans to go to the Kremlin himself and take Putin out. Here’s betting he doesn’t have the cojones for that.
According to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), President Joe Biden is hoping Russian tyrant Vladimir Putin will be victorious with his war in Ukraine because Putin is “a climate partner.”
Graham made his absurd comments during an appearance on Fox News.
The South Carolina Republican repeated his call for someone to kill Putin, telling host Maria Bartiromo that NATO could institute a no-fly zone in Ukraine:
“It will not be World War III. This is all a bluff. Putin knows it. If he ordered a pre-emptive strike on the U.S., some general would shoot him in the head.
“The only way this war ends is with Putin going to jail or being taken out by his own people. How do you make that happen? You help the Ukrainians.”
And then Graham made his disgusting comment about Biden secretly wanting to see Putin to be victorious in Ukraine:
“He’s a climate change partner. He’s an Iran deal maker. In my eyes, he’s a menace to mankind, he’s a war criminal and he needs to be taken out by his own people.”
Graham ended the interview with another call for Putin to be killed:
“Putin is a war criminal, he is no longer a legitimate leader and it is time for us to get him gone! It would be better to have a Russian leader that wouldn’t marry up with Iran and Syria to begin with. This is the best chance in 20 years to take this guy out and the Russian people are the vehicle to do it.”
Here’s a thought: Since Lindsey is so eager to see Putin kick the bucket, how about we let him go meet with the Russian mass murderer and do the deed himself when he gets there? What say you, Sen. Graham? Do you have the balls to back up your tough talk, or are you just trying to look macho for your redneck constituents?
On Saturday, several members of Congress spoke with Ukrainian President Voldomyr Zelenskyy via Zoom, and after the video call was finished, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) decided he’d post a video on Twitter what he called the “takeaways” of the conversation, even though doing so could well present a security risk for Zelenskyy.
Graham, however, like so many Republicans who have never and will never be President of the United States, couldn’t resist trying to pretend he knows something about foreign policy and diplomacy, even though the only thing he’s ever succeeded at is whining and complaining.
In his video of what he discussed with Zelenskyy, Graham included what can only be called a subtle but pointed criticism of President Joe Biden and the administration, remarking:
“Apparently, the United States is part of the problem, not the solution.”
Yes, know-nothing, feckless members of the Senate who try to run foreign policy instead of staying in their lane are indeed part of the problem and have no solutions to anything.
Twitter lit up with mockery, snark, and anger aimed directly at the South Carolina Republican.
