It’s safe to say that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is one of the most hated members of the House of Representatives. There are several reasons Jordan is so universally disliked, but the main one is because he’s an overbearing asshat who enjoys attacking anyone he disagrees with, even when all he accomplishes with such confrontations is putting his own ignorance on display for the world to see.
Back in late July, Jordan tried to bully Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and he fell flat on his face:
And now we have Congressman Jordan sending out a sarcastic tweet about Constitution Day:
Democrats have indeed read the Constitution, but Jim and his buddies over in the GOP seem to think its protections only apply to them. They want to punish anyone who doesn’t worship the way they do or who doesn’t believe it’s merely a “protest” when thousands of domestic terrorists storm the Capitol and urinate in the halls where some of this nation’s greatest statesmen once walked.
Democrats also don’t try to keep women from making their own reproductive decisions or give massive tax breaks to the richest Americans, the very people who least need them. And Democrats damn sure don’t blindly support a lifelong con man who tramples on the rights of anyone who disagrees with him while he goes about breaking any and every law thinks doesn’t apply to him.
Jordan’s snarky posting was met with plenty of responses, most of them reminding him of his own hypocrisy:
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is one of the most disgusting people to ever serve in Congress, and it now looks like he’s caught in a no-win situation that could leave both him and his idol, former President Donald Trump, facing criminal charges, according to a former top FBI official.
Frank Figliuzzi is the former assistant director for counterintelligence at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and he says things are about to get much worse for Jordan.
Appearing on “Deadline: White House,” Figliuzzi was asked about the fact that Jordan cannot recall how many times he spoke with Trump on the day of the Capitol insurrection. Figliuzzi replied:
That, Figliuzzi noted, is a nightmare for Trump, and it also implicates Jordan as part of a larger conspiracy that could result in federal criminal charges:
If we’re lucky, both Jordan and Trump will be destroyed for whatever roles they played in the Jan. 6 riots. And both of them deserve to be charged, tried, and found guilty of sedition and inciting an insurrection. Let the chips fall where they may.
Though he claims not to recall exactly what time he spoke to former President Donald Trump on the day of the Capitol insurrection, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) communicated with Trump “more than once” on January 6 and that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was also on at least one of those calls, according to a report from Politico:
“MORE THAN ONE JAN. 6 TRUMP-JORDAN CALL — We know that DONALD TRUMP and Rep. JIM JORDAN spoke once on the day of the Capitol riot, but the Ohio Republican has said he doesn’t remember when their conversation took place. We have some new details that could help clear up that timeframe — including confirmation of at least one more phone conversation between Jordan and the then-president during the siege.”
After they had been evacuated from the House floor, some GOP lawmakers were in a room where they called and spoke with Trump:
“After a group of lawmakers were evacuated from the House chamber to a safe room on Jan. 6, Jordan was joined by Rep. MATT GAETZ (R-Fla.) for a call during which they implored Trump to tell his supporters to stand down, per a source with knowledge of that call. The source declined to say how Trump responded to this request.
“Jordan, when asked about whether Gaetz participated, said he’d “have to think about it,” citing many conversations he had during the frenetic attack. He also said phone calls to Trump happened more than once on that deadly day.”
Asked about the new details, Jordan told Politico’s Olivia Beavers:
A spokesperson for Gaetz was less forthcoming, remarking:
The actual number and substance of those calls is of special interest to the House Select Committee investigating what took place on Jan. 6. The committee is expected to request the phone records of several members of Congress and may also subpoena social media postings made by some Republicans as the Capitol was under attack by thousands of pro-Trump protesters. That rioting resulted in the deaths of five people, including a member of the Capitol Police.
If it can be proven that Gaetz, Jordan, or other Republicans coordinated strategy with Trump on the day of the insurrection, it could result in criminal charges being filed against the conspirators.
The setting was a meeting of the House Rules Committee, which Rep. Jim (Gym) Jordan (R-OH) serves on.
During a hearing on HR 4, which is the voting reform bill being advanced in the House of Representatives, Rep. Joseph Morelle (D-NY) called Jordan out for his repeated lies about Donald Trump supposedly winning the 2020 election, which of course he didn’t.
Crooks and Liars reports that Congressman Morelle began his remarks by chastising Republicans for some of the restrictive voting laws being passed in states such as Florida, Georgia, and Texas, all of which are controlled by the GOP. Morelle noted that these infringements on the right to vote are a “disgrace,” and then lit into Jordan:
“‘I also find it curiouser and curiouser that Mr. Jordan, you would use 2020 data on election participation when you wouldn’t even acknowledge the outcome of the same election,’ Morelle said.
“Earlier in the debate, Jordan claimed there was no need for Democratic bills on voting rights since the turnout of the 2020 election was so huge.”
Poor little Jim Jordan. The Ohio Republican congressman longs for the days of massive incompetence, vitriol, and double impeachment that were on full display when failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was still in the White House.
All Jimbo can do now is go on Fox News and whine to host Maria Bartiromo that the world has fallen apart under President Joe Biden, even though every metric that counts suggests otherwise.
Gym appeared on the verge of tears as he bemoaned the fall the Afghan capital city, Kabul, and began free-form ranting like a washed up jazz crooner as he completely overlooked facts and reality to put on his sepia-toned glasses and wax morosely:
Biden is on vacation? He’s at Camp David, which just so happens to have its own Situation Room from which the president can monitor what goes on anywhere in the world. And, better yet, Jordan neglected to mention that he’s also on vacation because Congress is in recess until after Labor Day.
Jordan then harkened back to the dark days of the Trump presidency, which was highlighted by an uncontrolled pandemic, calls for Americans to inject bleach, and a deep recession brought about by Trump’s failure to admit things were as bad as the vast majority of us knew they were:
Really? Trump was withdrawing troops from Afghanistan and wanted to hold “peace talks” with the Taliban. The fall of Kabul can clearly be laid at the feet of Donald Trump and his incompetent Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.
And that’s not all when it comes to Trump’s foreign policy failures. There was also his attempt to extort Ukraine and Donald’s fawning praise of Russian thug/president Vladimir Putin, a man who has killed thousands of innocents across the globe and also his political opponents shot or dosed with nerve gas.
Jim Jordan is upset because he knows President Biden is delivering results for the American people. All Trump did was enrich himself and his three oldest spawn. The country and the world is better off with Donald Trump as far from the Oval Office as possible.
