Report: Federal Prosecutors Will Indict Matt Gaetz ‘In The Next Few Weeks’

It’s been a little while since we got any updates on what’s going on with the case against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who is suspected of sexually trafficking an underage girl and paying her for sexual favors via Venmo, which left a record of those transactions that prosecutors can easily follow.

Trump’s longtime “wingman,” Joel Greenberg pled guilty to six federal charges — including sex trafficking of a child, production of a false identification document, aggravated identity theft, wire fraud, stalking, and conspiracy — on May 17 and is now cooperating with federal investigators in the case against Gaetz.

So when can we expect to see Gaetz doing the perp walk in handcuffs as the FBI carries him away?

New information from former New York Assistant Attorney General Tristan Snell suggests that an indictment with Gaetz’s name on it is coming very soon — within “the next few weeks” — and has taken so long because the case against him is so voluminous.

Snell spoke with sources close to the Gaetz investigation and shared what he learned on Twitter, revealing that the “US Attorney’s Office is taking very strong positions with Gaetz and his counsel and is ready to indict Gaetz and others.”

Here’s the full tweet thread Snell posted earlier today:

One of the most interesting tidbits of new information from Snell is the mention he made of prosecutors possibly trying to flip Gaetz and get him to cooperate with their investigation. Who could be a bigger fish than the congressman? Some of the top officeholders in Florida? If so, who might those officials be? Just the thought must be giving some of them sleepless nights.

For now, we continue to wait for the Gaetz saga to play itself out. But it certainly sounds like things are progressing and we won’t be waiting much longer.

Jen Psaki Has The Perfect Comeback After Ron DeSantis Calls Biden A ‘Power-Hungry Tyrant’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) wants to be president so damn badly! How badly? Enough so that he’s willing to let thousands of Floridians die of COVID-19 while he pretends that everything is just fine in the Sunshine State. He insists mask mandates won’t be allowed on his watch, no matter how many children and senior citizens wind up on ventilators and die in complete isolation, unable to see their families as they take their last, labored breath.

So it should come as no surprise that DeSantis would snipe at the current resident of the White House, President Joe Biden, simply because Biden made this remark on Wednesday while discussing the rise in COVID cases being seen in the states of Florida and Texas:

“I say to these governors: Please help. But if you aren’t going to help, at least get out of the way. The people are trying to do the right thing. Use your power to save lives.”

Biden is trying to save lives, even in Republican-controlled states, because he’s doing what he promised he’d do when he was running in 2020: Be a president for all Americans.

How did DeSantis react to Biden’s remarks? Like a spoiled child. Like a man who cannot accept constructive criticism. We’ve had a president like that, and his name was Donald Trump. He’s one of the main reasons we’re in the fix we see before us right now as it pertains to the coronavirus.

DeSantis told reporters this while he was visiting Panama City and was asked about what the president had said:

“Why don’t you do your job. Why don’t you get this border secured, and until you do that I don’t want to hear a blip about Covid from you.”

Shortly after DeSantis made that snippy soundbite, he was also using it to try and raise money for his reelection efforts in 2022, sending out a blast email in which he pretended to be a tough guy:

“Joe Biden has the nerve to tell me to get out of the way on COVID while he lets COVID-infected migrants pour over our southern border by the hundreds of thousands. No elected official is doing more to enable the transmission of COVID in America than Joe Biden with his open borders policies.”

The governor wants us to believe the reason COVID is spreading is because of immigrants coming into the United States, though he has never presented a scintilla of evidence to support his allegation. He’s bullshitting. He’s lying. He’s using hatred and fear of “the other” to try and cover up his own heartlessness and incompetence.

Or, to put it another way, Ron DeSantis is pulling a Trump.

But White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki had the perfect response to Gov. DeSantis, telling reporters at Thursday’s daily press briefing:

“25% of hospitalizations in the country are in Florida.

“It is also a fact that the governor has taken steps that are counter to public health recommendations. So, we’re here to state the facts. Frankly, our view is that this is too serious, deadly serious to be doing partisan name calling. That’s what we’re not doing here, we’re focused on providing public health data information to the people of Florida, to make sure they understand what steps they should be taking, even if those are not steps taken at the top of the leadership in that state.”

That’s how you deal with an empty suit, wannabe tough guy like Ron DeSantis. The governor should be ashamed of himself. But to feel shame, you have to possess a conscience. Clearly, DeSantis has no conscience. Just hubris, bluster, and bile.

DeSantis And Trump In Angry Showdown Over Donald’s Planned Florida Rally This Weekend

As he always does, Donald Trump is once again proving that there is no one he won’t toss overboard in his effort to promote himself and satiate his maniacal narcissism.

This time, however, the conflict between Trump’s need to be adored and the potential political blowback it could cause for a rising star in the Republican Party is more pronounced than ever because it includes a body count.

The failed one-term former president has a rally planned this weekend in Sarasota. But the state of Florida is currently in the middle of a horrible human tragedy: The collapse of a high-rise condominium in Surfside.

Each day, more people are confirmed dead in the condo collapse, and over a hundred or more are still missing and feared dead. So it would seem the wrong time to hold a rally, wouldn’t it?

Yet despite that, Trump is refusing to heed the pleadings of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is seen as a major contender for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.

According to the Washington Examiner, Trump and his staff won’t even consider delaying the rally:

“DeSantis’s office has ‘made a direct plea’ to the former president’s team, calling on it to postpone the Saturday event in Sarasota. One Florida Republican bluntly said Trump and his team need to ‘read the room.’

“‘The governor is getting tested here as to how far he’s going to be pushed before he breaks ranks with President Trump. And he has to be very careful because this is Trump country,’ this source said. ‘The base loves the president. But they equally love Ron. It’s a showdown going on right now.’

“For now, the Trump camp is holding firm. ‘Nobody wants to cancel,’ a source close to Trump told the Washington Examiner.”

Nobody wants to cancel because no one wants to be the person that has to tell Trump he can’t go to Sarasota and lie for 90 minutes about how the election was stolen from him. That’s all he does now, and that narrative isn’t exactly good for DeSantis, who is in Trump’s shadow whether he realizes it or not.

And yet, DeSantis could truly make a name for himself if he insisted that Trump not show up. He could refuse to grant space for Trump’s rally. And he’d probably get tremendous bipartisan support if he did.

But like nearly every chickenshit Republican, DeSantis is terrified of what happens if he crosses Trump. It could cost him a second term as governor and destroy his chances of ever running for president.

Will Ron DeSantis grow a pair and put his foot down when it comes to Trump? Of course not. He doesn’t have a set of balls and like every other Republican in the Age of Trump, even if he did have stones, he’d gladly put them in a plastic bag and and hand them to his orange Lord and Savior.

No matter what DeSantis does, he’s screwed. That’s what happens when you sell your soul to the devil and get nothing in return for it but a fading MAGA cap.

Matt Gaetz Gets Masterfully Trolled – Crowd Begins Singing, ‘She Was Just Seventeen…’

To put it mildly, things are not going well for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who is under federal investigation for allegedly sexually trafficking an underage girl and other disgusting shenanigans that could send him to prison for 10 years to life.

Recently, we learned that Gaetz’s longtime friend Joel Greenberg has agreed to enter a guilty plea on charges of sex trafficking and was now cooperating with federal prosecutors in exchange for leniency when sentence is handed down.

And then reports came out that Gatez’s ex-girlfriend is also working with the feds to bring the Florida Republican to justice, with CNN reporting:

“The woman, a former Capitol Hill staffer, is seen as a critical witness, as she has been linked to Gaetz as far back as the summer of 2017, a period of time that has emerged as a key window of scrutiny for investigators. She can also help investigators understand the relevance of hundreds of transactions they have obtained records of, including those involving alleged payments for sex, the sources said.”

Clearly, this has been the weeks from hell for Matty, and he probably didn’t think the situation could get any worse or more humiliating for him.

Until it did.

While he was in Ohio trying to pretend he’s not on the verge of being hit with indictments, Gaetz got trolled by some in the audience who began singing:

“She was just seventeen…”

Now that is some epic trolling, and it set off laughter all over Twitter:

Matt Gaetz is indeed in a world of shit. And he deserves to be laughed at. So let’s make sure we share that video all over social media so it can go viral and humiliate Matty even further.

Joy Reid: Ron DeSantis Is On The Verge Of Losing His 2022 Bid For Reelection

Not so long ago, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was seen as a legitimate contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, one of the rising GOP stars who even had the blessings of failed, one-term former President Donald Trump.

But that was before COVID-19 hit and DeSantis mishandled the pandemic in the Sunshine State. Seniors began dying by the tens of thousands and the Florida governor allegedly sold vaccines for the deadly disease to the highest bidder as elderly Floridians struggled to take their next breath.

MSNBC host Joy Reid noted recently that DeSantis is in one hell of a pickle, especially since his newly-announced lax health standards are scaring away businesses, most notably the cruise ship industry, which is a major financial force in Florida. Here’s what Reid posted on Twitter:

DeSantis recently signed a very harsh voter suppression bill, but while he’s counting on that to keep minority participation in the 2022 election down, the courts still have to weigh in on the matter, and voters could be angry enough to send the Florida GOP a loud message about what happens when you try to take away people’s right to cast a ballot.

Granted, DeSantis is the incumbent, and that’s a major advantage in any election. But as we saw in 2020, an unpopular incumbent president can indeed lose an election.
