Alex Jones Repeatedly Gets Told To Stop Lying By Judge As He Testifies: Video

Tuesday was right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ day in the dock as he testified in his own defense as part of a massive defamation case brought against him by parents of the children killed by a mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012.

As usual, however, Jones resorted to outright lies to defend himself and was repeatedly admonished for doing so by Judge Maya Guerra Gamble.

At one point, Judge Gamble told Jones:

“Mr. Jones, you may not say to this jury that you complied with discovery. That is not true. You may not say it again.”

Jones also claimed he was bankrupt, only to be reminded by the judge that while he has filed for bankruptcy, it has not yet and may never be approved:

“You may not tell this jury that you are bankrupt. That is also not true. You may have filed for bankruptcy, I don’t know that but I have heard that. That doesn’t make a person or a company bankrupt. You’re already under oath to tell the truth. You’ve already violated that oath twice today in those two examples. It seems absurd to instruct you again that you must tell the truth when you testify. Yet, here I am. You must tell the truth while you testify. This is not your show. You need to slow down and not take what you see as opportunities to further the message that you’re wanting to further. Instead, only answer the specific and exact questions you’ve been asked. No asides. The comments about discovery. The comments about the larynx or whatever it was.”

The larynx reference was in response to Jones saying during his testimony that he’d had surgery on his throat. He also claimed he’d had a tooth pulled when Judge Gamble told him he couldn’t chew gum in court. When Jones attempted to argue, the judge informed him:

“None of those were responses to questions. They’re just you abusing my tolerance and making asides to the jury improperly and in at least two cases, untruthfully. Do you understand what I have said?”

When he attempted to make more excuses, the judge pointedly asked:

“Yes or no! Do you understand what I have said.”

Jones:

“Yes. I believe what I said was true. So, I don’t know —”

Exasperated, Judge Gamble interjected:

“Yes, you believe everything you say is true, but it isn’t. Your beliefs do not make something true. That is what we’re doing here. Just because you claim to believe something is true does not make it true. It does not protect you. It does not allow — you’re under oath. Those things must actually be true when you say them.”

When he attempted to speak again, Gamble told Jones:

“Don’t talk. Do you understand what I have said?”

Jones meekly replied:

“I do understand.”

Alex Jones Facing Financial Ruin As Sandy Hook Parents Seek Over $100 Million In Damages Today

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones could be on the merge of discovering that the First Amendment has limits and does not allow a person to attack others with lies in an effort to demean their pain and suffering as testimony begins today in Texas to decide much he must pay the families of children slain in the 2912 Sandy Hook Elementary mass shooting that left 26 dead, including 20 children between the ages of six and seven.

According to the Associated Press, the parents suing Jones are seeking in excess of $100 million in damages. Such a judgement, attorneys for Jones allege, would lead to financial ruin for the controversial radio and podcast host.

The jury could deal Jones a major financial blow that would put his constellation of conspiracy peddling businesses into deeper jeopardy. He has already been banned from YouTube, Facebook and Spotify for violating their hate-speech policies and he claims he’s millions of dollars in debt — a claim the plaintiffs reject.

The trial involving the parents of two Sandy Hook families is only the start for Jones. Damages have yet to be awarded in separate defamation cases for other families of the 2012 massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.

During questioning of potential jurors, Jones’ attorney Andino Reynal conceded that his client is indeed a “very polarizing” and “controversial” figure, but urged to cap any damages at a miniscule $1.

“We’re very happy with the jury we’ve seated,” Reynal said. “It’s a very important First Amendment case. On trial right now is not just people’s freedom of speech, but it’s also people’s freedom to listen. To choose what they watch on television, to make those choices for themselves, instead of having a personal injury lawyer make those choices for them.”

Reynal neglected to mention that juries in both Texas and Connecticut have already found Jones liable for defamation after he suggested that the children and teachers slain at Sandy Hook Elementary were “crisis actors” who staged a fake shooting to increase the likelihood of gun control legislation in the United States.

Since being found liable, Jones has insisted that he’s already broke, claiming that he’s $20 million in debt and cannot possibly pay any judgements that may be assessed against him.

The plaintiffs, however, don’t believe Jones, and the facts simply don’t support his claims of poverty:

Court records show that Jones’ Infowars store, which sells nutritional supplements and survival gear, made more than $165 million between 2015 and 2018. Jones has also urged listeners on his Infowars program to donate money.

Hopefully, when all is said and done, Alex Jones won’t have a proverbial pot to piss in.

Justice Department Accuses Alex Jones Of Potential ‘Abuse Of The Bankruptcy System’ In Court Filing

On the eve of a bankruptcy hearing for InfoWars founder Alex Jones, the Justice Department has weighed in and accused Jones of possible “abuse of the bankruptcy system.”

According to Elizabeth Williamson of the New York Times, a DOJ trustee in Texas filed a formal objection to Jones’s bankruptcy petition, claiming that it may be fake and an attempt to avoid paying compensation to the families of the children who were killed in 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary. Jones accused the families of being “crisis actors.”

Williamson reports:

On the eve of tomorrow’s hearing on Jones/ Infowars’ bankruptcy case in Texas, DoJ’s regional trustee files an objection with the judge: Why aren’t Jones and his company, both defendants in Sandy Hook defamation suits, named as debtors?

Jones asked the bk court to approve a paltry “litigation settlement trust” without any input by the families, nor any view of his finances. That risks “purposefully stacking the deck against the most vulnerable of creditors,” trustee writes.

On Sunday, Bloomberg was the first to report that Jones planned to file for bankruptcy as a way of avoiding complete financial collapse:

Companies owned by far-right radio host Alex Jones are getting advice from restructuring advisers and considering options including a potential bankruptcy filing after being hit by lawsuits over Jones’s conspiracy theories, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

A Chapter 11 filing would aim to allow Jones’s businesses, such as Infowars and Free Speech Systems, to keep operating while pausing civil litigation against them, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private.

Financial Weight Of Multiple Lawsuits Has Alex Jones On The Brink Of Bankruptcy: Report

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy as the weight of multiple lawsuits against him is causing severe financial stress, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Just last year, Jones and his companies were found liable of defamation in a lawsuit brought by relatives of the 20 children who died in the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting. Jones labeled the shootings fake and a hoax, suggesting they were part of a “false flag” operation that would allow the U.S. government to impose new gun control regulations. The full value of the damages that will be imposed on Jones has not yet been decided, but could well total in the tens of millions of dollars.

Attorneys for Jones have asserted that their client’s First Amendment rights are being violated and that he had an absolute right to make the comments about the Sandy Hook massacre.

However, legal experts have noted that no one has a right to spread outright lies and bogus conspiracy theories in order to get ratings and raise money. Such actions are clearly beyond the scope of the protections afforded by the Constitution.

Jones has also been accused of transferring money from his company in an effort to hide his assets. According to attorneys for the Sandy Hook families, Jones began those transfers shortly after they filed their defamation suit in 2018. He allegedly transferred $18 to an entity called  PQPR, which is said to be controlled by Jones or members of his family.

Alex Jones: Donald Trump Is Either Ignorant Or ‘One Of The Most Evil Men Who Has Ever Lived’

Alex Jones is only good at one thing: Spinning bullshit conspiracy theories about everything that takes place in the United States.

Remember how Jones said the Sandy Hook shooting was a “false flag” staged by the U.S. government as a way to implement gun control? He’s still paying for that lie, and is on the hook for a cool fortune after he was sued by families of the 20 children who were gunned down on that horrific day back in 2012. Courts have said Jones has to pay damages for his lies about the massacre.

And now Jones is claiming that when former President Donald Trump defended taking the COVID-19 vaccine during an interview with right-wing activist Candace Owens, he was either too stupid to know what he was saying or is one of the most “evil” people in world history.

Specifically, Trump told Owens:

“Oh no, the vaccines work. But some people are the ones — the ones who get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don’t take the vaccine. But it’s still their choice. And if you take the vaccine, you’re protected.”

That declaration of support for the vaccine, Jones believes, means something horrible is going on, and he wants to make sure his moronic followers know what’s happening, telling them in what he dubbed “an emergency” Christmas message:

“This is an emergency Christmas Day warning to President Trump. You are either completely ignorant about the so-called vaccine gene therapy that you helped ram through with Operation Warp Speed or you are one of the most evil men who has ever lived to push this toxic poison on the public and to attack your constituents who they simply try to save their lives and the lives of others.”

Of course, Jones is right on both points when it comes to Donald Trump: He’s ignorant and also one of the most evil men who has ever lived. Millions of us have known that for years. The fact that it took this long for Alex Jones to figure that out suggests he’s dumber and at least as vile as the failed, one-term ex-president.
