Susan Collins Gets Shredded For Her Outrage Over Trump Being Booted From Ballot In Maine

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is absolutely outraged that Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows removed failed former president Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 primary ballot as a result of his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election and his support for the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Collins — who voted to impeach Trump in 2021 but acquitted him in 2019 — weighed in on the action taken by Bellows on Twitter/X, writing, “Maine voters should decide who wins the election – not a Secretary of State chosen by the Legislature. The Secretary of State’s decision would deny thousands of Mainers the opportunity to vote for the candidate of their choice, and it should be overturned.”

That was a bridge too far for many on social media, especially when you consider a statement Collins made after the Jan. 6 attack in which she thundered:

“President Trump had stoked discontent with a steady barrage of false claims that the election had been stolen from him.

“The allegedly responsible officials were denigrated, scorned, and ridiculed by the President, with the predictable result that his supporters viewed any official that they perceived to be an obstacle to President Trump’s reelection as an enemy of their cause. That set the stage for the storming of the Capitol for the first time in more than 200 years.”

The blatant hypocrisy of Collins’ outrage set off a wave of criticism aimed directly at her.

Tom Cotton Gets Hit With A Brutal History Lesson For His ‘Ignorant And Stupid’ Civil War Comments

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) walked into a rhetorical trap of his own creation Thursday when he attempted to defend former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, who flubbed a question about the primary cause of the Civil War this week during a campaign event.

Cotton made his comments on Twitter/X, where he suggested that Democrats had supported the expansion of slavery rather than vote for Abraham Lincoln. That, the senator maintained, was what led to war among the states.

“The Civil War started because the American people elected an anti-slavery Republican as president and Democrats revolted rather than accept minor restrictions on the expansion of slavery to the western territories,” Cotton wrote on social media.

He added:

Really? Wow! That’s one hell of a bizarre reading of history, and it wasn’t long before others on social media began giving Cotton a much-needed lesson on what actually took place in the United States and has transpired in the years since the Civil War ended in 1865.

Lauren Boebert Switches Congressional Districts In Desperate Effort To Win Reelection

Having seen her poll numbers continue to fall and sensing that she is toast in the 2024 election, controversial Colorado Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert announced Wednesday that she will be switching districts in a desperate attempt to win another two-year term in the House of Representatives.

HuffPost reports that Boebert made the announcement via a video posted on Facebook.

Boebert implied in the video that her departure from the district would help Republicans retain the seat, saying, “I will not allow dark money that is directed at destroying me personally to steal this seat. It’s not fair to the 3rd District and the conservatives there who have fought so hard for our victories.”

“We have to protect our majority in the House,” she said.

Boebert’s sudden shift to another district comes just three months after a self-inflicted humiliation in which she was caught on video groping her date at a theater production of “Bettletjuice” in Denver. The congresswoman and her acquaintance were booted from the theater for their behavior. She later offered a non-apology apology and saw her poll numbers plummet among likely voters.

The congresswoman made reference to the theater incident in her Wednesday post, noting, “I’ve made my own personal mistakes and have owned up and apologized for them.”

That apology, however, clearly wasn’t enough to convince voters in her district that she could be trusted to represent them, and her change of location means she’ll probably win reelection, as the new district is the Colorado’s most conservative.

However, Boebert still faces the lingering stench of her own detestable public behavior and highly controversial stances on issues such as abortion, immigration, and the federal budget.

Wednesday Court Filing Hints Jack Smith Has Incriminating Testimony From Members Of Congress

A court filing made today by Special Counsel Jack Smith suggests that he has evidentiary testimony from members of Congress who can corroborate the role failed former president Donald Trump played in efforts to overturn the 2020 election and organize the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection.

Specifically, Smith is requesting that when witnesses are cross-examined at Trump’s upcoming federal trial in Washington, D.C., the ex-president’s attorneys should be barred from asking questions that might breach either attorney-client privilege or the Speech and Debate clause, which applies specifically to members of the U.S. House and Senate.

MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin laid out exactly what Smith’s latest filing means in a series of tweets.

It’s safe to say that if indeed Smith has testimony from Republicans who had intimate knowledge of Trump’s role in what transpired in the last days of the previous administration, Donnie is beyond screwed.

MT Greene Humiliated After Sharing Photos Of Her ‘Blasphemous’ Christmas Wrapping Paper

Though she claims to be a Christian, Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene repeatedly acts in ways that suggest otherwise.

A perfect example comes from two social media postings Greene made regarding Christmas, which is one of the holiest days in the Christian calendar and is supposed to be about love, hope, and joy among humanity.

Greene, however, couldn’t resist taking the low road and letting the entire internet know that she had wrapped her Christmas presents in a way that proved once again she has no damn clue what it means to be a true follower of Jesus.

As HuffPost notes:

Greene on Tuesday linked to her Christmas collection of branded items that are available to buy via the Republican fundraising platform WinRed.

A Christmas $25 wrapping paper on which Biden appears as the Grinch next to the slogan “Impeach Biden” is on sale alongside a $60 sweatshirt with the message: “The Grinch Who Stole The Election” in green and “Impeach Biden” in red. Other products include a T-shirt reading, “Proud Christian Nationalist.”

Greene also added this video of wrapped presents under her Christmas tree.

To quote the Bible Greene and others in the GOP claim to have read, “Jesus wept.”

The hypocrisy of Greene’s hateful Twitter posts didn’t sit well with many on the platform, some of whom called the congresswoman “disgusting” and her wrapping paper “blasphemous.”
