Rupert Murdoch May Be Ready To Dump Hannity, Bartiromo, And Pirro As Fox News Implodes

Fox chairman Rupert Murdoch is on the verge of firing three of the most well-known hosts on the Fox News Network: Sean Hannity, Maria Bartiromo, and Jeanine Pirro.

According to a report from Radar Online, the firings will be the result of the massive lawsuits Fox is facing from Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic, both of whom are seeking billions of dollars from the network for lies told in the aftermath of the 2020 election.

At least three prominent Fox News stars are set to be axed from the embattled news network to help Rupert Murdoch save face amid the ongoing $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against him and his company, RadarOnline.com has learned.

In the latest development to come shortly after Murdoch admitted he did nothing to stop his Fox News talent from “promoting” ex-President Donald Trump’s baseless claims the 2020 presidential election was rigged, network insiders believe the 92-year-old billionaire media magnate will commit “blood sacrifices” in an effort to save the network’s bottom line.

Among the names on the list of those to be potentially axed from the network include popular Fox News stars such as Sean HannityMaria Bartiromo, and Jeanine Pirro.

A media insider told Puck earlier this week that Fox is “totally fu*ked. Murdoch screwed himself and the company.

Portions of Murdoch’s testimony were made public this week as a result of the lawsuit filed by Dominion. In it, the Fox chief admitted that some of his hosts had indeed pushed known lies that the 2020 election had been “stolen” from failed former president Donald Trump and admitted Fox had done so to protect their financial bottom line:

“Rupert confirmed that he could tell FNN (Fox News Network) to stop running (MyPillow founder Mike) Lindell’s advertisements, ‘But I’m not about to.’ … and when asked why Fox continues to give a platform to Lindell — who continues to this day to spout lies about Dominion — Murdoch agreed that ‘It is not red or blue, it is green.’ … Lindell brought—and brings— Fox a lot of green. He also predictably brought the same lies about Dominion to Fox’s viewers that had been peddled on Fox’s ‘alternate reality machine’ for months.”

Ironically, Murdoch’s grab for “green” may wind up costing him a fortune and also destroy Fox, no matter who gets fired.

Murdoch Admits Under Oath That Fox Peddled 2020 Election Lies To Protect Their Financial Bottom Line

Former Fox News chairman Rupert Murdoch admitted under oath in a recent deposition that the network aired conspiracy theories suggesting the 2020 election had been stolen for the sole purpose of protecting their financial bottom line, according to documents released Monday.

In one section of Murdoch’s deposition, which was taken as part of a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, the Fox chief says his network wasn’t interested in red or blue, and was instead focused on “green.”

The Washington Post notes that in another section of the Monday filing from Dominion, current Fox chairman Lachlan Murdoch was worried that coverage of Trump rally after the election had been called for President Joe Biden had been too negative, which could cost Fox financially:

“News guys have to be careful how they cover this rally,” he told Fox News C.E.O. Suzanne Scott. “So far some of the side comments are slightly anti, and they shouldn’t be. The narrative should be this is a huge celebration of the president.”

Elsewhere in the deposition, Rupert Murdoch admits that some of his primetime hosts did indeed endorse nonsensical conspiracy theories about the election.

Question: “About Fox endorsing the narrative of a stolen election; correct?”

Murdoch: “No. Some of our commentators were endorsing it.”

Question: “About their endorsement of a stolen election?”

Murdoch: “Yes. They endorsed.”

In reaction to the Monday court filing, Fox released a statement:

“Dominion’s lawsuit has always been more about what will generate headlines than what can withstand legal and factual scrutiny, as illustrated by them now being forced to slash their fanciful damages demand by more than half a billion dollars after their own expert debunked its implausible claims. Their summary judgment motion took an extreme, unsupported view of defamation law that would prevent journalists from basic reporting and their efforts to publicly smear FOX for covering and commenting on allegations by a sitting President of the United States should be recognized for what it is: a blatant violation of the First Amendment.”

Fox is also facing a multibillion-dollar defamation lawsuit from Smartmatic, an electronic voting systems company.

Fox’s Brit Hume Uses One Of Trump’s Favorite Insults To Describe His Chances In 2024

Is Donald Trump the prohibitive front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination? It seems that depends on who you talk to, but many conservatives don’t think the failed ex-president stands a chance based on his performance in the 2020 general election.

Fox News political analyst Brit Hume, for one, says Trump has a major problem as he gears up for another run at the White House, and it has everything to do with the poor showing Donald made the last time he was on the ballot.

Speaking with Fox anchor Bret Baier Monday on “Special Report,” Hume was asked about the attacks Trump is making on his main rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, to which Hume replied:

Hume noted that is was “inevitable” Trump would attack DeSantis “because, obviously, Mr. Trump recognizes that this governor, who just won reelection by nearly 20 points, is at the moment, in the eyes of most people, a winner.”

“Whereas he, Mr. Trump ― although there’s skeptics about how it happened – was a loser.”

As HuffPost notes, “loser” is one of Trump’s favorite insults.

Trump has used the term “loser” liberally to castigate individuals and groups he doesn’t like ― including political rivals, journalists, media organizations, terrorists and celebrities.

And the numbers show that Trump is indeed the bigger “loser” among the two men, with DeSantis besting his Democratic opponent, Charlie Crist, by almost 20 points as he secured a second term as head of the Sunshine State.

Trump, on the other hand, didn’t fare so well against President Joe Biden, losing the popular vote by almost 5 points and getting swamped in the Electoral College, 306 to 232.

Donald Trump is a loser. He’s always been a loser. In business, in his personal life, and as a human being, Trump is one of the biggest losers to ever walk the face of the planet. That won’t change in 2024, whether he manages to secure the GOP nomination or not.

Will Special Counsel Jack Smith Charge Fox News For Their Role In January 6?

Now that a court filing has proven Fox News knew former president Donald Trump’s claims about the 2020 election were complete bullshit, it’s worth considering the following question: Is Fox legally culpable for their role in the January 6, 2012 attack on the U.S. Capitol, and could they be charged by Justice Department Special Counsel Jack Smith?

The answer to those questions is a resounding “yes,” according to former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, who spoke with MSNBC host Katie Phang today.

Specifically, Kirschner said he believes Fox helped incite the rioting and needs to be held accountable.

“These were not lies about which toothpaste will make your teeth whiter, or which floor wax will make your floors more shiny, these were lies about whether the American peoples’ votes were stolen and their election rigged.”

Kirshner added:

“It’s like they were packing the case with gunpowder, using these lies as a vehicle to keep the viewership, you know, engaged. They were just waiting for Donald Trump to light that gunpowder — which he did on January 6th and it erupted into violence.”

The former prosecutor then laid out the case that can be made against Fox:

“I think we need to challenge the federal government — this defamation suit is important — but what is even more important is the federal government needs to step up and address these intentional and reckless lies. I would argue are reasonably likely, if not intended to, incite imminent violence. This issue has got to be grabbed onto and shaken and addressed.”

Kirschner concluded by explaining that the Justice Department has a responsibility to make sure what took place on Jan. 6 never happens again:

“Should Jack Smith begin to dig into the implications of Fox News, you know, riling up the Trump base such that Trump now has a more willing, more ready group of insurrectionists?

“I think it is an abdication of the federal government’s responsibility if they don’t find the right vehicle, the right organization, to dig into these problems to try to protect the American people from these faux news organizations. Indeed, they [Fox] did incite imminent violence on January 6th. Does Jack Smith have adequate predication, fancy term for enough evidence, to begin investigating the impact that the Fox News lies had on what happened on January 6th? I sure hope he concludes that he does.”

REVEALED: Tucker Carlson Called Trump ‘A Demonic Force’ In Aftermath Of January 6 Capitol Insurrection

Even though he remains a constant apologist for disgraced former president Donald Trump, Fox News host Tucker Carlson slammed Trump as a “demonic force” and “a destroyer” in a text to one his producers after thousands of pro-Trump supporters attacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021, according to just released court documents.

HuffPost notes that Carlson also insisted that Trump wouldn’t destroy Fox.

“But he’s not going to destroy us,” Carlson added in the text, revealed in a court filing Thursday that lays out how Fox News knowingly spread election lies.

Despite his disgust with the disgraced ex-president, in the days after Jan. 6, Carlson continued to press forward with unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election had been stolen from Trump via rigged voting machines and other means of manipulating ballots.

Carlson’s critical remarks are part of a massive $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, and court filings show that many Fox hosts and executives had serious doubts the election had been rigged against the one-term, twice-impeached former president.

In another text sent to his fellow primetime host Laura Ingraham in November of 2020, Carlson ripped into Trump attorney Sidney Powell:

“Sidney Powell is lying by the way. It’s insane.”

And after Fox officially called the state of Arizona for President Joe Biden, Carlson ominously declared, “(Trump) could easily destroy us if we play it wrong.”

At the same time he was sending those texts, Carlson was also reportedly trying to get colleagues who dared to doubt Trump supporters such as Powell and Rudy Giuliani fired from the network.

“Please get her fired,” Carlson texted host Sean Hannity, according to the document. “Seriously….What the fuck? I’m actually shocked…It needs to stop immediately, like tonight. It’s measurably hurting the company. The stock price is down. Not a joke.”

Another thing that isn’t a joke: The very real possibility that Fox is facing bankruptcy if found guilty of defaming Dominion and Smartmatic, both of which have multibillion dollar suits against the network going to trial this year.

We can always hope that by this time next year Fox will be little more than a bad memory and that Carlson, Hannity, and Ingraham will all be unemployed.
