Trump Releases Statement On VA Governor’s Race That May Doom The GOP Candidate

For months now, Virginia GOP gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin has been trying to distance himself from failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump because he doesn’t want to be directly associated with a man as controversial and tarnished as the Donald.

And yet, on the eve of the election in the state, Trump decided he’d tie himself to Youngkin with a statement that could well doom the Republican when voters go to the polls tomorrow.

Politico reports that the Trump statement — released via his spokesperson — makes it clear that the ex-president sees Youngkin as a carbon copy of himself:

“The Fake News media, together with some of the perverts doing ads ad nauseam on primarily Fox (Fox shouldn’t take those ads!), are trying to create an impression that Glenn Youngkin and I are at odds and don’t like each other.

“Importantly, this is not true, we get along very well together and strongly believe in many of the same policies.”

That statement is exactly what Younkin’s Democratic opponent, Terry McAuliffe, has been saying for months now and reiterated shortly after Trump sent out his statement:

“Since launching his campaign, Glenn Youngkin has made it clear he is running for governor for one person and one person only: Donald Trump. Now, with less than 24 hours until Election Day, Trump is helping Glenn close his campaign and rewarding his total allegiance for the last eight months.”

Quite simply, Trump may have just doomed Glenn Youngkin. The election will likely come down to turnout, but Trump’s enthusiastic embrace of the Virginia Republican could turn off lots of independent voters who haven’t yet made up their minds about how they’ll cast their ballot on Tuesday.

If you watch election returns Tuesday evening, keep a close eye on Northern Virginia. That’s where Democrats get their biggest share of votes in the state, and that’s where Youngkin will probably come up short, if only by a few points.

But in a race as close as the one between Youngkin and McAuliffe, a few points may be the margin of victory. And having an albatross like Trump around your neck is not something any candidate wants the day before votes are cast.

Roger Stone Threatens To Wreck Ron DeSantis’ Reelection If He Refuses To Audit Florida’s Voter Rolls

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is already facing a very uncertain bid for reelection next year in the Sunshine State, having completely mishandled the response to COVID and taking the public stance that he will oppose any local efforts to combat the deadly virus, which has resulted in sending nearly 60,000 Floridians to their graves.

But it now appears things are about to get much worse for DeSantis, as he’s facing a challenge on the extreme right-wing from longtime Donald Trump friend and protégé Roger Stone, who is demanding DeSantis run a full audit of Florida’s voter registration rolls.

Stone sent this warning to DeSantis via Twitter:

He followed up with this one:

Here’s the interesting thing about Stone’s threat to DeSantis: Both of them are acolytes of the failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president, so it’s hard to know if Donald put Stone up to this in order to take DeSantis down a notch and keep him from being a viable GOP presidential candidate in 2024. Because if DeSantis can’t get a second term in Florida, he’s all but guaranteed to be a dud in a run for the White House.

Of course, as unhinged and duplicitous of a bottom-feeding insect as Stone is and always has been (he used to work as a dirty trickster for Richard Nixon), he may have cooked up his run on the Libertarian ticket just so he can remain relevant and try to raise a few bucks. Word is that money is tight for Stone and his legal bills are believed to be enormous.

Whether Stone actually runs or not isn’t exactly the point. Just the threat proves that DeSantis is potentially weak on his right flank, which he thought he had safely covered.

For now, Stone is just testing the waters to see if he can get what he wants. But if he does choose to run, Ron DeSantis could well be sending out his résumé after the votes are counted next November.

Joy Reid’s Nightmare Prediction About Donald Trump Will Absolutely Terrify You

On her show Friday evening, MSNBC host Joy Reid made a Halloween prediction that is certain to terrify anyone who cares about the future of this country and the Constitutional republic failed, one-term former President Donald Trump and his GOP minions have tried to destroy.

Wearing a witch costume, Reid warned that a return of Trump in the 2024 election would be an absolute nightmare, and she even laid out how fears things might happen in the next race for the White House:

“Just picture it, an even older, weirder Donald Trump buoyed by Republicans who game the voting system.”

Reid went on to explain that Trump would actually lose the election, and that’s when the things would take a turn for the worse. GOP governors and legislatures would ignore the will of the voters and install Donald as president:

“So Trump returns but he’s unconstrained because there are no more American democratic elections. With his own little puppet, puppet Kevin McCarthy as speaker, whom he can dangle and fling to his delight, and his his cruel wicked henchman grim reaper Mitch McConnell back in charge in the Senate … there is no stopping him.”

McConnell, Reid continued, would have refused to let President Biden fill any Supreme Court vacancies, but once Trump is back in power, the GOP would install another right-wing justice and cement a 7-2 majority:

“If you think it’s racist and fascist out here now, just wait until all of Trump’s monsters are unleashed. Picture the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters and the Boogaloo Boys with real power, Trump’s own personal militia, racist sheriffs and police free to commit untold violence against anyone they please, all in the name of Trump. The land ravaged, plowed for every drop for oil and coal until it all just burns.”

Anyone who wants to make sure this country doesn’t descend into authoritarianism and fascism needs to make sure and vote in every election at every level: Local, state, and national.

To borrow a phrase from Benjamin Franklin: We have a republic, but only if we can keep it.

Attorney For Jan. 6 Rioter: My Client Has Info About The ‘Kings And Queens’ Who Organized The Attack

An attorney for some of the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 is hinting that her clients are about to spill the beans on what she calls the “kings and queens” who organized the insurrection.

According to Politico, Heather Shaner, who represents several of the defendants who have been charged in connection with the Capitol riots, is helping the committee get a better picture of everyone who was involved in the violence:

Shaner also revealed that she helped connect the committee with another source — not one of her clients — who claimed to have information related to associates of Alex Jones, the far right broadcaster who helped promote pro-Trump election conspiracy theories.

Shaner told NBC News that her intent is to make sure her clients aren’t made to pay for the crimes of other, more senior members of the group that planned the attempted coup on the same day Congress was meeting to certify the Electoral College votes from last November’s election which was overwhelmingly won by President Joe Biden:

“We want to see the queens and kings prosecuted not the pawns.”

The Jan. 6 Select Committee has also been hearing testimony from others who have been charged with crimes connected to the insurrection, Politico notes:

The committee has been interviewing and collecting documents from those involved in planning the rallies, though it’s unclear if all of the depositions have gone forward. A deposition set for Friday with a former Justice Department official who aided Trump’s effort to overturn the election was postponed after he switched attorneys.

Several former Trump administration officials — i.e. Steve Bannon and former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows — have also been subpoenaed for documents and testimony regarding what if any role they may have played in the attack on the Capitol building. Despite the subpoena, Bannon is refusing to comply and has been charged by the Justice Department with criminal contempt of Congress.

Donald Trump Elections WTF?!

Trump Now Claims Bill Barr Stole The 2020 Election For Biden

Ever since he lost badly in the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump has been spinning one conspiracy theory after another about why he was beaten so badly.

At first, you probably recall, Trump claimed that millions of votes had been counted two or three times, providing the margin of victory for Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

After that, Trump began targeting specific states, alleging massive fraud in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and other battleground states. However, no evidence of fraud was ever found, even though numerous recounts and audits were performed in those key states.

Now, however, proving that he truly has lost what was left of his already addled brain, Trump is blaming his former attorney general, William Barr, and the Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, for conspiring to deliver the state of Pennsylvania to Biden and Harris.

In a letter he wrote in response to a Wall Street Journal editorial which noted that Biden won the Keystone State by more than 80,000 votes, the ex-president went all-in on the tinfoil hat wearing craziness, asserting:

“Well actually, the election was rigged, which you, unfortunately, still haven’t figured out. Here are just a few examples of how determinative the voter fraud in Pennsylvania was.”

Going over a litany of already debunked claims about supposed “fraud” in Pennsylvania, Trump then turned to Barr and Zuckerberg:

“Attorney General Bill Barr ordered U.S. Attorney Bill McSwain to stand down and not investigate election irregularities. Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook poured over $17 million to interfere in the Pennsylvania election, including $5.5 million on ‘ballot processing equipment’ in Philadelphia and $552,000 for drop boxes where the voting pattern was not possible.”

Oh, and the Donald also managed to repeat a line about “phantom” voters casting ballots, a claim that was also made in Arizona but proven to be utterly incorrect when the Arizona audit was completed, along with a flourish of dementia that there were “numerous reports and sworn affidavits attested to poll watcher intimidation and harassment, many by brute force.”

Did Trump offer any proof his allegations? Of course not! He has nothing to support his claims, much the same way he never has any facts to back up the lies he tells about everything from the weather to how rich he is.

Since he’s convinced that his own hand-picked attorney general conspired against him, here’s hoping the current AG will indeed go after Trump and charge him with the many crimes he’s committed.
