The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) got more than he bargained for when he showed up for an interview with “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos on Sunday.
Noting that the Oversight Committee has announced it will be investigating President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, Stephanopoulos asked:
“It’s clear that you’re going to be looking at Hunter Biden. I want to put up a front-page story from the Washington Post detailing Jared Kushner’s ties to the Saudis.
“We know that former President Trump has also received funds related to the Saudis’ golf tour. Will you be investigating that as well?”
Comer:
The congressman also suggested that there was no reason to investigate Trump or Kushner because neither is currently in office, adding:
Comer then said, “Hopefully, the Biden family will be as cooperative as Jared Kushner — with our investigation — as they were with the Jan. 6 investigation and all the other investigations of the Trump administration.”
Cooperative? Just because Kushner sat for questions from the January 6 House Select Committee doesn’t address his ties to Saudi Arabia and how that connection may have directly influenced foreign policy in the Trump administration.
Congressman Comer needs to just admit that his goal is to try and slag Hunter Biden in the hopes it will damage President Biden. That’s the only thing he’s interested in accomplishing.
