GOP Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH) tried to engage in sloganeering rather than answering real questions and got his head handed to him by “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan.
Sununu, who is seen by some as a possible contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, was asked by Brennan why he had been critical of Republicans who want to “out-do” Democrats with the imposition of rules. He replied:
Brennan followed up by asking:
Sununu:
Brennan, “Because you’re not a culture warrior.”
The governor agreed:
So what does it mean on your platform? Brennan queried.
Sununu:
Government never solves a cultural problem? If that’s true, then the governor needs to pass that message along Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and others in the GOP who want to impose their religion on people when it applies to issues such as reproductive choice and what books students can read in their school library.
