GOP Governor Unable To Explain What He Means By ‘Woke Cancel Culture’ – Video

GOP Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH) tried to engage in sloganeering rather than answering real questions and got his head handed to him by “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan.

Sununu, who is seen by some as a possible contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, was asked by Brennan why he had been critical of Republicans who want to “out-do” Democrats with the imposition of rules. He replied:

“Remember what’s going to happen. Eventually [Democrats] will have power in a state or position and then they’ll start penalizing conservative businesses and conservative non-profits and conservative ideas.
“Do I like what every private business does? No, I hate this woke cancel culture.”

Brennan followed up by asking:

“What does that mean to you?”

Sununu:

“Woke cancel culture? Oh, it’s — it’s — look, it is…”

Brennan, “Because you’re not a culture warrior.”

The governor agreed:

“No, no. But it’s there.”

So what does it mean on your platform? Brennan queried.

Sununu:

“It’s the divisiveness we see not just in our schools but in our communities Where it is me versus you, where if you are not adhering to my ideals then I am going to cancel you out. It’s us versus them. It’s this binary where everything is a war. That’s a cultural problem we have to fix in America.
“But government never solves a cultural problem.”

Government never solves a cultural problem? If that’s true, then the governor needs to pass that message along Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and others in the GOP who want to impose their religion on people when it applies to issues such as reproductive choice and what books students can read in their school library.
