Liz Cheney Claps Back After Gingrich Threatens Jan. 6 Committee Members With ‘Risk Of Jail’

Appearing on the Fox News program “Sunday Morning Futures” former GOP Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich suggested that members of the January 6 House Select Committee could face the “risk of jail” if Republicans retake control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections.

Gingrich told host Maria Bartiromo:

“You have — both with Attorney General [Merrick] Garland and with this select committee on January 6, people who have run amok. What they need to understand is on January 4 next year, you’re going to have a Republican majority in the House and a Republican majority in the Senate. And all these people who have been so tough, and so mean, and so nasty are going to be delivered subpoenas for every document, every conversation, every tweet, every e-mail.”

The serial adulterer from Georgia then added:

“I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down. And the wolves are going to find out that they’re now sheep and they’re the ones who are in fact, I think, face a real risk of jail for the kinds of laws they’re breaking.”

The laws they’re breaking? What about the crimes of insurrection and interfering with Congress that were committed by failed, one-term former President Donald Trump and his toadies in Congress? They’re still facing serious federal criminal charges that could send them to prison for decades.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), one of only two Republicans who have agreed to serve on the Jan. 6 panel, clapped back at Gingrich’s blatant threats, tweeting out this response:

She was soon joined by her fellow Republican on the committee, Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois:

No one is afraid of you or your GOP goons, Newt. And keep in mind you haven’t won the House or Senate yet. As the committee continues to uncover new evidence and crimes, don’t be surprised if voters reject you and your fellow insurrectionists.

Tucker Carlson Complains About ‘Androgynous’ M&Ms And Gets Masterfully Trolled By Eric Swalwell

It’s been a busy week in the news, filled with developments in the January 6 investigation and the ongoing debate over voting rights legislation which is being held hostage by Senate Republicans (assisted by two Democrats, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema), so you may have missed the childish hissy fit pitched by Fox News host Tucker Carlson over M&M candy being made “androgynous.”

You simply can’t make this shit up. It’s 2022 and truth always winds up being stranger (and dumber) than fiction.

Newsweek notes that Carlson went on an extended rant during his show Friday evening on the subject of genderless M&Ms:

Mars announced on Thursday that the company would make changes to M&Ms as part of its “global commitment to creating a world where everyone feels they belong, and society is inclusive.”

Carlson said: “Bet you didn’t think M&Ms were pushing intolerance, but they were, they’ve been changed.”

“You’re seeing those changes on the screen,” he said as images of the rebranded M&Ms were displayed.

OK, Tucker. Just let it go. No need to make a big production number out of candy. But he proceeded to do exactly that, remarking:

“The green M&M, you will notice, is no longer wearing sexy boots. Now she’s wearing sensible sneakers. Why the change? Well according to M&Ms, ‘We all win when we see more women in leading roles.’

“Because leading women do not wear sexy boots, leading women wear frumpy shoes. The frumpier the better. That’s the rule.”

Please, gods of TV, make it stop. Make it stop!!

It did not stop, as Tucker prattled on:

“The other big change is that the brown M&M has ‘transitioned from high stilettos to lower block heels,’ also less sexy. That’s progress. M&Ms will not be satisfied until every last cartoon character is deeply unappealing and totally androgynous.

“Until the moment you wouldn’t want to have a drink with any one of them. That’s the goal. When you are totally turned off, we’ve achieved equity. They’ve won.”

Wait a minute. Time out! Tucker Carlson was turned on by candy? Guess that shouldn’t surprise us since he’s the heir to the Swanson frozen dinner fortune, but did he need to share his perversion with the world? Of course he did; Fox demands such depravity for their sexually repressed viewers.

However, one good thing did come out of Carlson’s lunacy: The response from Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who fired back at the Fox host with this magnificent piece of online trolling:

Boom! Mic drop. Game, set, and match Eric Swalwell. Thank you for making this whole thing laughable, congressman.

Unearthed Video Shows McConnell Bragging: ‘My Party Does Really Good With White People And I’m Proud Of That’

Earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) got caught in a controversy of his own making while discussing the issue of voting rights, telling reporters:

“The concern is misplaced because if you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans.”

As the AP reported, that set off a wave of criticism for obvious reasons:

The comment implied that Black voters are somehow not American and underscored the concerns of voting rights advocates that Republicans in state legislatures across the country are explicitly seeking to disenfranchise Black voters. The timing was also notable, coming the same day that McConnell engineered a filibuster to block voting legislation that Democrats and civil rights leaders say is vital to protecting democracy.

Mitch tried to walk back his remarks as the full fury of the online shitstorm hit him:

McConnell addressed the controversy at a news conference in Kentucky, calling the criticism an “outrageous mischaracterization of my record as a result of leaving one word out inadvertently the other day, which I just now have supplied to you, is deeply offensive.”

Now, however, Patriot Takes has unearthed a video of McConnell circa 2015 in which he proudly brags that Republicans do well with white voters:

“My party does really good with white people and I’m proud of that.”

During the same 2015 Aspen Institute forum where McConnell expressed pride in being popular with white Americans, he mused on why blacks don’t want to join the GOP, according to Mediaite:

He accused Black voters of being “locked down against Republicans,” and the only hope he expressed for making inroads was the existence of some Black Republicans.

But perhaps most strange was McConnell’s assertion that “it certainly hasn’t been helped by having the first African-American president be a Democrat. I mean, that didn’t do us much good on that front” — as if Barack Obama just fell to Earth and into the Oval Office in a stroke of misfortune for the GOP.

Republicans love to say they’re not bigoted, racist, or opposed to civil rights for minorities in the United States. But that’s just another lie they tell along with all the others.

Trump’s Mental Decline Is On Full Display During Rambling Phone Interview With Sean Hannity

In the 15 months American voters overwhelmingly rejected him and his policies, failed former President Donald Trump has desperately tried to remain semi-relevant, but his efforts have only served to remind the country what a complete douchebag he is and why we came out in record numbers to send him packing.

During a phone interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump rambled and jumped from one subject to another, proving that his cognitive abilities have deteriorated badly since he left office.

The ex-president had a major senior moment when Hannity asked him about President Joe Biden:

“So, you keep banging your head against the wall — why would you expect a different result?”

The twice-impeached Trump responded:

“So, we would have had the wall completed in three weeks. It was largely completed. We did almost 500 miles of wall.”

What?! He went from a metaphorical wall to the one he was never able to complete while he was in office.

If that’s not bad enough, Trump also reignited his long-running feud with windmills:

“You look at what’s happening to these beautiful prairies and plains and these gorgeous areas of our country where they have these rusting hulks put up all over the place that are noisy, they’re killing the birds.”

Donald and his rabid pack of acolytes love to suggest that President Joe Biden isn’t mentally sharp, but if anyone is one the downward slope when it comes to brain function, it’s clearly Trump. After all, he was never very bright to begin with and has now descended into a degenerative mental state that suggests he may have inherited Alzheimer’s Disease from his late father. That, or he’s getting dumber by the day.

Trump’s Handpicked Georgia Senate Candidate Accused Of Having A ‘Porn Addiction’

According to failed former President Donald Trump, the perfect person to be the GOP nominee for the Senate in the state of Georgia is former NFL star Herschel Walker, so he has given his full endorsement to the ex-football player, commenting in September:

“Herschel Walker will never let you down. He was a great football player and will be an even better U.S. Senator—if that is even possible. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Considering Trump’s propensity for being sexually promiscuous, it probably won’t surprise you to learn that Walker is being accused of having an addiction to porn, according to one of his Republican primary opponents.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

“A review of Senate candidate Herschel Walker’s Instagram account shows he follows several accounts with links to racy material. One of the accounts has a name not suitable for a family newsletter. Several others also have accounts on OnlyFans, a social media platform popular with porn stars.”

Asked for comment, Walker’s campaign manager, Scott Paradise, called the accusation “stupid,” and added:

“He follows or is followed by tens of thousands of people.”

That explanation, however, didn’t satisfy Walker’s GOP rival, Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, who wondered if perhaps Walker has an addiction to porn, with a spokesperson for Black’s campaign noting:

“Stalking, and domestic abuse are disqualifying by themselves but a porn addiction would be a significant third strike. That’s just handing the Senate to the Democrats. While personally sad, it’s definitely conduct unbecoming of a candidate for elected office.”

If Walker does win the Republican nomination, he would face incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D).
