Trump Willing To Sell Nikki Haley The VP Slot To Pay His Mounting Legal Bills: Report

In the surest sign yet that failed former president Donald Trump is desperate for cash as his legal bills continue to mount and his campaign coffers run dry, he’s now considering naming his chief 2024 rival for the GOP presidential nomination, Nikki Haley, to be his running mate, provided she hooks him up with wealthy donors who will pay his attorney bills.

That’s the word from Alex Thompson of Axios, who notes that top Trump advisers say Haley is indeed under consideration for the VP slot.

“The GOP rivals’ relationship remains chilly, but Trump could pick Haley if he were convinced she’d help him win the presidency, avoid a potential prison sentence and cover tens of millions in legal bills if he loses.”

There are increasing reports that Trump is having trouble raising significant amounts of cash to fund his faltering 2024 campaign in addition to whispers that his legal troubles are taking a bigger financial drain than he had anticipated.

Choosing Haley would also help Trump mend the growing divide among Republicans, at least 20% of whom have been casting their primary ballots for the former South Carolina governor despite her having dropped out of the race in March.

However, picking Haley could alienate many hardcore right-wingers, including former Fox host Tucker Carlson, Axios reports.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson told a conservative commentator in December that if Trump selects Haley he “would not only not vote for that ticket, I would advocate against it as strongly as I could.”

For his part, Trump claims Haley isn’t “presidential timber,” even though she has more credentials as a potential GOP nominee than he ever did.

Trump loves to brag about his supposed wealth. But with each day it becomes clearer that he’s desperate for money to fund the campaign and help him avoid going to jail.
