Just how worried is failed and twice-indicted former president Donald Trump about what awaits him when his own criminal cases are adjudicated in a court of law? A posting he made today on his failing Truth Social site suggests that he’s enraged by the possibility that he’ll be spending the rest of his life in federal prison.
The subject of Trump’s ire is Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, who reached a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in June by pleading guilty to a charge of tax evasion and a gun possession penalty. Both charges were agreed to by David Weiss, the U.S. Attorney for Delaware who was appointed by none other than Donald Trump himself.
But to hear the disgraced ex-president tell it, Weiss is a “coward” and should have hit Hunter Biden with a “death sentence.”
“Weiss is a COWARD, a smaller version of Bill Barr, who never had the courage to do what everyone knows should have been done.”
Trump also attacked his own appointee:
“Because of the two Democrat Senators in Delaware, they got to choose and/or approve him. Maybe the judge presiding will have the courage and intellect to break up this cesspool of crime.”
He ended with a frequent refrain: “The collusion and corruption is beyond description. TWO TIERS OF JUSTICE!”
A death sentence for tax crimes? If that was the case, Donald Trump would have been strapped down a long time ago and given a lethal dose dozens of times over.
