Capitol Insurrection The Trump Adminstration

Former Trump Aide Directly Implicates Steve Bannon In The Jan. 6 Capitol Insurrection

Even though he’s already facing two years in prison for contempt of Congress, the legal outlook for ex-Trump administration adviser Steve Bannon got considerably worse when another former Trump official implicated Bannon as one of the masterminds of the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Appearing on Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, Peter Navarro, who was Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy in the Trump White House, weighed in on the recent revelations from the House Select Committee on January 6 and said there’s no way anyone can think that Trump himself was responsible for the violence that took place on that horrible day:

“January 6th, this whole notion that little Jamie Raskin’s got that somehow, President Trump wanted to do an insurrection. You were the hero of January 6th!”

Navarro then went even further, and with each word he opened Bannon up to serious legal jeopardy:

“You were the guy who had the… strategy to go up to Capitol Hill. Pence is the quarterback, we had a 100 people working on the… team… who were going to make sure we remanded the results back to the battleground states.”

So, thanks to Peter Navarro, we now know this: Bannon formulated the strategy for the Capitol riots. Former Vice President Mike Pence was expected to help invalidate some of the electoral votes that would deny Joe Biden the presidency. And there was a team of 100 people working on the insurrection. All of that is valuable information for the House committee, especially since they can now subpoena Navarro and look for the other co-conspirators who helped plan and execute the riots that left five dead, including a member of the Capitol Police Force.

Though he probably didn’t intend to, Navarro just made certain that Steve Bannon’s legal problems are about to go from bad to worse.

Trump Tells Newsmax He Rescued Christmas: ‘Brought It Back Very Quickly!’

If you enjoy this time of the year and are a big fan of Christmas, you should be down on your hands and knees thanking failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump for rescuing the holiday from destruction.

Or at least that’s what Trump wants you to believe.

Speaking with Mike Huckabee of Newsmax, Trump couldn’t wait to toot his own horn and pat himself on the back for keeping Christmas from being destroyed by people who insist on saying “Happy Holidays.”

Huckabee prompted Trump by remarking:

“We went through a long period where people quit saying Merry Christmas. You deliberately changed that!”

Trump responded:

“It was embarrassing for stores to say ‘Merry Christmas,’ you’d see these big chains, they want your money but they don’t want to say ‘Merry Christmas.’ They’d use reds, they’d use whites and snow but they wouldn’t say Christmas!”

The failed ex-president then added:

“When I started campaigning, I said, ‘You’re going to say Merry Christmas again,’ and now people are saying it.

“We brought it back very quickly!”

Brought it back quickly? It was never gone! People have been saying “Merry Christmas” for hundreds of years and no one stopped saying it. The fact that businesses chose to include those who celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanza (or don’t recognize any of those) was done to keep from excluding those who don’t do the Christmas thing.

For some unknown reason, this whole “war on Christmas” got started on right-wing media to make it appear that Christians were being persecuted. That’s a lie. No one cares what you say during the Holidays. It doesn’t change what you believe in your heart. The only thing that can do that is believing bullshit spread by propagandists, fascists, and liars.

Donald Trump didn’t rescue or save Christmas. He just needs something to claim credit for because his presidency was a miserable failure.

Daft Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims Incriminating Jan. 6 Texts Prove ‘Trump Is Innocent’

Ever since she opened her mouth for the first time on the floor of the House of Representatives, it’s been painfully clear that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) isn’t exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer. As a matter of fact, she’s just a couple of IQ points brighter than a bag of hammers.

But something Greene said Wednesday during an appearance on extreme right-wing television network One America News (OAN) may well qualify the Georgia Republican for a spot in the Dumbass Hall of Fame.

According to Greene, the text messages from people such as Donald Trump Jr., Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and others are proof that the failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president is innocent and so is everyone that allegedly conspired with him to orchestrate a coup on January 6, 2021:

“I think the text messages just completely show that President Trump is innocent. All of us are innocent. The riot shouldn’t have happened and we were all against it just like we’ve said all along.”

A couple of things about Congresswoman Greene’s deeply-flawed logic.

First of all, Trump waited hours after those texts were sent to him before he finally posted a video message on social media telling the insurrectionists to disperse. That doesn’t show any form of innocence whatsoever.

Secondly, be sure and notice that Greene said, “All of us are innocent.” Why does she feel a need to add that unless she’s worried more information is about to be released that will implicate her and others in the GOP who may have been willing co-conspirators and had a hand in the murder of a Capitol police officer, which just so happens to be a capital crime that gets most defendants the death penalty?

Yes, Greene is an imbecile, but her remarks on OAN are the sort of thing that leads attorneys to tear their hair out in frustration.

Nice try, Marj, but it appears you just screwed yourself in royal fashion. Good work, moron.

Eric Trump Is Now Pushing The Idea That Joe Biden Won’t Live Through His Term In Office

Ever since Joe Biden was elected president, those opposed to him have been trying to suggest that he might be in failing health, even though they fail to provide any facts or evidence to support such a premise.

The irony of such morbid speculation is especially rich when you consider that failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was indeed a walking health time bomb. While in office, he was morbidly overweight, often consumed large amounts of fast food, and got almost no exercise.

In contrast, President Biden is toned, eats a balanced diet, and regularly exercises with the use of a Peloton bike.

And yet, despite this contrast, Trump’s son, Eric, is now posting tweets in which he is tacitly endorsing the idea that Biden won’t live out the length of his term in office:

Also included in Eric’s tweet is an attempt to fearmonger among the MAGA faithful by appealing to their racism and misogyny: If Biden doesn’t serve his term, a black woman will replace him!

Eric’s obvious reveling in the idea of another person’s passing is both perverse and disgusting, as many people reminded the twice-impeached former president’s spawn:

RNC Chair Tries To Blame Burning Of Fox News Christmas Tree On (Wait For It…) Joe Biden

Early Wednesday, the Fox News Christmas tree was set ablaze, the Washington Post reports:

The towering Christmas tree outside the Fox News headquarters in New York was set on fire early Wednesday, causing first responders to race to extinguish a blaze that engulfed the 50-foot tree in Midtown Manhattan.

Video posted to social media shows flames and smoke coming off the decorated tree shortly after midnight just outside the News Corp. building. The network cut in for a live broadcast of the blaze at Fox News Square, just days after the tree, covered in thousands of lights and ornaments, was ceremoniously lit to ring in the holidays.

A man was later arrested for the act:

Craig Tamanaha, 49, was arrested early Wednesday and charged with setting the fire, a New York Police Department spokesperson told The Washington Post. Tamanaha faces charges including criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and arson. The man “was observed by Fox News Channel security climbing the Christmas tree decorated outside their office building near the corner of West 48 Street and Sixth Avenue” about 12:15 a.m., police said.

End of story, right? Not according to Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel, who went on Fox and tried to blame the whole thing on President Joe Biden.

McDaniel was asked to predict how she thought the GOP would do in the 2022 midterms. She remarked:

“What this poll is telling us is we’re going to take back the House and the Senate and the American people want a change. Biden is underwater. Harris’s approval is under 30% and Republicans are more trusted on three key issues: the economy, inflation and crime.

“And these are issues we’re seeing every day on our streets, around our homes, in our communities, on the news. Look at your Christmas tree that was just burned down. This is a huge problem for Democrats.”

Wait! What was that? A random act of arson is a problem for Democrats? Sounds like a bit of a stretch, and it also suggests Republicans are in big trouble, despite their bragging about how they intend to win in 2022.
