China Social Media WTF?!

Randy Quaid’s Reaction To The Chinese Balloon Is So Strange That Twitter Users Can’t Stop Laughing

Granted, we’ve known for quite some time now that actor Randy Quaid had jumped the shark and taken to inhabiting the dark world of internet conspiracy theories and other assorted craziness that hides in plain sight in some of the more untraveled corners of social media.

For example, consider this from a profile of Quaid published by Uproxx back in 2014:

Randy and Evi Quaid reportedly believe there is an evil sect of Hollywood trying to kill them. It is the same shadowy organization that killed Heath Ledger, David Carradine, and Chris Penn. This sect is also responsible for extorting millions from their bank accounts, while running them out of the country.

The impetus for the seemingly paranoid descent into madness has several starting points depending on who you ask. Friends and relatives point to the 1989 marriage of the Quaids as the beginning of the end for the Golden Globe winning actor. Others say it manifested back in 2006, when they were approached by law enforcement for disturbing the peace (more on that later). Perhaps, it was when the world became aware of their self-destruction, when Randy was blackballed from a would-be Broadway play for allegedly verbally and physically attacking cast members, among other undignified behaviors reported by those on hand.

Fast forward to today, and feast your eyes on Quaid’s non-sequitur take on the Chinese spy balloon which was downed this afternoon on the orders of President Joe Biden. Hours prior to that action, Quaid tweeted out:

What in the hell does that even mean?! Is it supposed to be humorous, or is he serious? It’s difficult to tell when dealing with the mentally ill.

But we did get something good out of Randy’s bizarro tweet: Social media reaction that is absolutely priceless.

Adam Kinzinger Puts Elon Musk On Full Blast For Spreading Lies – And He Brought The Receipts

Former Illinois Republican Adam Kinzinger is calling out Twitter CEO Elon Musk for repeatedly telling lies about the horrific attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and he’s making sure to bring the receipts incase Musk wants to deny his remarks.

The Independent reports that Kinzinger went after Musk shortly after police bodycam video of the Pelosi attack was made public on Friday.

The graphic clip showed a suspect identified as David DePape, 42, wildly strike the 82-year-old husband of Nancy Pelosi over the head at his San Francisco home on 28 October last year.

In the aftermath of the assault, Mr Musk amplified a “deranged” conspiracy theory that the two men were romantically involved.

“There is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye,” Mr Musk tweeted, before quietly deleting the post days later.

Shortly after that bodycam footage was released, Kinzinger posted on Twitter:

“Hey @elonmusk care to react to the Pelosi video? You spread the big conspiracy.”

That led Musk to respond that he was merely attacking media outlets for “misleading the public.”

But Kinzinger was far from finished with Musk, and he laid out the receipts proving the Twitter boss was lying his ass off, along with members of the GOP who consider Musk to be a hero.

Twitter has gone to shit since Elon Musk took over. Now he’s trying to rewrite history to serve his own purposes. But thanks to people like Adam Kinzinger, he won’t be allowed to.

Stephen King Claps Back Hard At Jim Jordan For Trying To Frighten Americans

Since they have no agenda other than obstruction and chaos, Republicans always resort to fear in an attempt to garner the support of voters.

Such is the case with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who tried to fearmonger with a tweet he fired off on Friday about how “they” were coming to take things away from Americans.

That led bestselling horror author Stephen King to make a suggestion.

Others also had some suggestions for the Ohio Republican.

Matt Gaetz Attempts To Troll Adam Schiff And Only Succeeds In Owning Himself

Even though he isn’t the least bit skilled at online trolling, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) decided he’d try to do so at the expense of Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who wasn’t reappointed to the House Intelligence Committee by Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy simply because Schiff speaks his mind and was the lead House manager for the first impeachment of disgraced, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) let McCarthy know what he thought of his refusal to appoint Schiff and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to the Intelligence Committee in a letter, noting:

“It is my understanding that you intend to break with the longstanding House tradition of deference to the minority party Intelligence Committee recommendations and deny seats to Ranking Member Schiff and Representative Swalwell. The denial of seats to duly elected Members of the House Democratic Caucus runs counter to the serious and sober mission of the Intelligence Committee.”

McCarthy’s recalcitrance is bad politics, bad optics, and bad for the national security of the United States.

Gaetz, however, who remains under investigation for allegedly taking an underage girl across state lines, having sex with her, and then paying her to remain silent, couldn’t resist adding his voice to the matter, posting this in response to a tweet asking what Schiff’s pronouns are.

If Gaetz had bothered to do a simple Google search, he would have learned that “removed” isn’t a pronoun. According to Dictionary.com, it’s a verb. In some instances, it can be a noun or an adjective, but it’s not a pronoun and never will be. But hey, why let basic knowledge of the English language stand in the way of a social media burn?

But that’s not all Rapey McForehead (a.k.a. Gaetz) neglected to take under consideration before he completely owned himself for the entire internet to see. And it didn’t take long before others have Gaetz a dose of his own medicine.

Jim Jordan Humiliates Himself With Bizarre Tweet Celebrating ‘God. Guns. Gas Stoves.’

Thought you’d heard all of the absurd nonsense Republicans can possibly shovel out in an effort to stir up the GOP base and hide the fact that they have no actual legislative agenda?

If so, consider the latest item of fearmongering being conducted by the right: The feds are coming for your gas stove!

MSNBC notes:

On Monday, Bloomberg reported that the Consumer Product Safety Commission was considering new regulations around gas stoves, given growing concerns over indoor pollutants. “Any option is on the table,” Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said. “Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

Now, Trumka never said a ban was forthcoming. And he (and Bloomberg) neglected to add that any CPSC regulations, like other proposed state and local-level bans of gas stoves, only apply to new construction. But that didn’t keep Republicans from pouncing and evoking visions of a 2023 filled with government agents busting down doors and ripping ovens out of walls.

That was all it took for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to fire off this tweet on Thursday:

“God. Guns. Gas stoves.”

That’s the new Republican agenda: God, guns, and gas stoves. But as Twitter users reminded Jordan, there are other three-word combinations that are also easily applied to him and his sordid past.
