Kayleigh McEnany Deletes Tweet After Owning Herself And Donald Trump With Posting

If you’re in need of some humor, former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany provided plenty of laughter on Twitter with a post she made (and later deleted) about the murder rate under the Biden administration.

The problem: The chart she referenced to make her point actually measured a rising murder rate while failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was in office.

According to Mediate, here’s what happened:

Former Trump Press Secretary and current Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany deleted a tweet Wednesday night that slammed the sharp increase in the murder rate in 2020.

Her quote tweet of a New York Times article on crime rate trends included a predictably political missive: “The US Murder Rate under Joe Biden…”

However, as many on Twitter were quick to point out, the massive increase in the murder rate shown on the graph happened in 2020, when the president was Donald Trump, and McEnany worked at the White House. Oops.

And here’s McEnany’s tweet:

The report from the Times referenced by McEnany states:

The United States in 2020 experienced the biggest rise in murder since the start of national record-keeping in 1960, according to data gathered by the F.B.I. for its annual report on crime.

The Uniform Crime Report will stand as the official word on an unusually grim year, detailing a rise in murder of around 29 percent.

If Kayleigh had bothered to think for a moment, she would have realized that Biden didn’t take office until January 20, 2021, meaning a crime stat from 2020 would fall on her former boss.

And deleting the tweet only complicates the matter, because it draws attention to McEnany’s flub. Then again, the moment she hit the “Tweet” button, her self-own became a fait accompli. Oh, and she even managed to own Trump, too. That’s one hell of a twofer.

Reactions on social media to Kayleigh’s idiocy were piquant and hilarious:

Only the best people. Right, Kayleigh?

High School Girl Flips Off Anti-Mask Protesters And Becomes An Internet Sensation

A high school girl in Vermont became an instant social media hero after she flipped anti-mask protesters off and a photo of her reaction spread like wildfire on social media.

The protesters have been outside the girl’s school — Champlain Valley Union High School — each morning recently, so Meagan Downey texted a message to her mother, Fiona, that read:

“I FLIPPED OFF THE ANTI-MASKERS AND SHE FLIPPED ME OFF BACK.”

That uplifted middle finger was captured by Glenn Russell of the VT Digger:

Philip Lewis of HuffPost then tweeted out a screen capture of the photo, and it went viral in no time:

That was all it took for others to give Meagan a big pat on the back for the way she chose to disagree:

Matt Gaetz Gets Pelted With Mockery When He Favorably Compares Trump To The Taliban

We’ve known for some time now that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is a complete idiot whose only purpose in life seems to be self-promotion. It’s the Donald Trump school of politics: Always keep your name in the news.

Of course, much of the publicity Gaetz has received in recent months is due to his alleged sexual trafficking of an underage girl, which could send him to prison for the rest of his life.

And yet, Gaetz continues to draw attention to himself, as if desperate to make a complete fool of himself on social media, which he did once again Wednesday after reading an article on a right-wing blog that suggested Twitter was allowing the Taliban to post on the social media site.

That led the congressman to post this tweet:

So Matt Gaetz wants to see the Taliban and Trump on Twitter. And he thinks their “government” is more legitimate than the one that was elected overwhelmingly by the American people last November. Wow! That’s some serious flirting with outright treason.

As for Trump still being banned from Twitter, Gaetz and other Trump acolytes forget that he was repeatedly warned about his postings and ignored those warnings. He violated Twitter’s terms of service, and that’s why he got the boot.

Gaetz, on the other hand, is just a douchebag who loves Trump more than he loves almost anything except underage girls. And he got some serious pushback for his tweet:

Maybe when he gets to prison, Matty can brag to his fellow inmates about how much he loves the Taliban right before they tell him to shut up and put on the dress they gave him.

Wasn’t This Supposed To Be Trump ‘Reinstatement’ Day? Twitter Had Some Thoughts On It

According to Donald Trump’s most devoted (and deranged) acolytes and supporters, today, August 13, 2021, was supposed to be the day that he would be “reinstated” as president.

Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, has been saying ever since January that Trump was going to be magically back in the White House today, but considering that he’s a recovering crackhead, you have to wonder if perhaps he’s been hitting the pipe again.

However, Joe Biden remains president, and Lindell has been walking/running back his ludicrous prediction, saying in July:

“Here’s what I said about a week ago, I said we’re going to live stream to the world on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of August,” he explained about his cyber symposium in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. “But what I said was when you all see what I’ve seen and what I have, the morning of the 13th, you’re going to wake up and go, ‘Wow, what are we going to do?’ Everyone’s going to know it and that’s when we’re going to bring it to the Supreme Court.” Lindell didn’t say “that everything’s going to change the morning of the 13th” (a Friday the 13th, mind you), but “everybody’s going to know what I know.”

Translation: Forget what I said earlier. I was high on pillow fumes and Red Bull. You guys totally misunderstood what I tried to say. I never ever predicted such a thing.

Uh…yeah. OK. Whatever, man.

But the August 13 prediction did manage to produce one tangible bit of good: It resulted in some hilarious postings on Twitter. Take a look:

Oh well, maybe the MAGA morons can schedule another day for their next delusion. Is there anything happening on December 25 that would prevent them from making that Reinstatement Day Part Deux?

MTG Has A Paranoid Twitter Meltdown About Rumors She’s About To Be Banned From Social Media

Proving that her understanding of something as ubiquitous as social media is not fully developed, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is now accusing the New York Times of conspiring with Twitter to have her banned from the platform.

Greene posted a screenshot of an email she received from Davey Alba, a technology reporter for the Times who specializes in online conspiracy theories and inaccurate postings on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Alba’s email references a tweet of Greene’s from Wednesday in which she claimed (without any proof) that COVID vaccines are causing miscarriages and other health problems among pregnant women. The email reads:

“Twitter is likely to take enforcement action on Ms. Greene’s account for coronavirus information. It would be her fourth strike, meaning she would have one strike to go before potentially being permanently suspended from the platform. Would Ms. Greene want to respond to this in a statement?”

That led to this bizarre and unhinged reaction from the Georgia congresswoman:

“How would the @nytimes know that my @Twitter account is about to be suspended? My account is NOT suspended. What kind of relationship does the NYT and Twitter have? Do they coordinate suspending people like me and news stories? Is someone paying for that? Why?”

That’s a whole lotta stupid for just one person, and it didn’t take long before others on Twitter began pelting Greene with mockery:
