Rick Wilson Has The Perfect Way To Turn Republican Candidates ‘Radioactive’ In 2024

Former Republican strategist Rick Wilson says he has the perfect way for Democrats to turn just about every Republican running for office in 2024 “radioactive” and unelectable.

Appearing on MSNBC, Wilson told host Ali Velshi that he fully expects Donald Trump will be the GOP nominee for president, but he’s convinced that Republicans up and down the ticket can be branded as extremists on the issue of abortion.

“I want my Democratic friends to listen to this very closely,” Wilson began. “Because in 2020, the stupidest single line in American politics was ever uttered: it was ‘defund the police.’ It was a poison with everybody, including African American voters.”

Wilson then added, “‘Six-week abortion ban’ is ‘defund the police’ for Republicans. It pulls them through the floor, everyone hates it. Republicans — look — about 25 percent of Republican women are pro-choice moderately, or somewhat, but pro-choice. About 18 percent of Republican men are pro-choice.”

Think about what the GOP used to stand for, Wilson continued, “The Republican Party that I grew up in was about getting the government out of life, out of your personal decisions, out of your bedroom, out of your wallet, out of your behavior, within the law. And this six-week abortion ban stuff? It is radioactive waste for the Republicans right now. And in the states where they passed it, Democrats have a chance to make real inroads.”

Radical Republican policies on the issue of personal choice are indeed a hot button issue for many Americans, most notably women and Gen Z voters, but a pro-choice message also resonates with independent voters, especially in key battleground states such as Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Mehdi Hasan Goes Biblical On Ron DeSantis And It’s Absolutely Perfect

MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan is sick and tired of conservatives such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) rushing to the defense of Daniel Perry, who is accused of manslaughter for allegedly killing Jordan Neely on a New York City subway by placing in a chokehold that led to his death.

Perry has been charged with manslaughter by the office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and yet DeSantis saw fit to call Perry a “good Samaritan” for his actions.

That dichotomy led Hasan to tell fellow MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin on Sunday evening, “I’m a Muslim, but I’ve read my Bible. I’ve read the Gospel of Luke, the parable of the good Samaritan who helps the injured traveler after the priest and another man failed to do so. I don’t remember the good Samaritan choking the traveler to death.”

Mohyeldin agreed with Hasan, noting, “They are not a party that demonstrates compassion in the spirit of Christianity.”

Hasan added that he had a bit of advice for Christians who act in un-Christian ways:

“Maybe they should fund free Bibles like you get in hotel rooms to Trump supporters to actually read the parable of the good Samaritan.”

DeSantis and the current rogue’s gallery of 21st century Republicans are nothing more than blatant hypocrites who think that if Jesus were riding on the subway, he’d be toting an AR-15 and daring people to make his day.

Texas Senate Gives Gov. Greg Abbott The Authority To Overturn Elections

The Texas Senate has given the power to overturn elections in the state to one man, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.

The bill which passed is aimed specifically at Harris County, which is home to the state’s most populous city, Houston, which is majority Hispanic and black.

HuffPost reports the move is unprecedented, even in state like Texas.

The legislation penalizes county officials for running out of ballot paper at some voting sites in the 2022 election, the Houston Chronicle reported. Still, more importantly, it gives Republican Gov. Greg Abbott “precedent-setting” power to undo election results.

The measure would give Abbott’s appointed secretary of state the authority to hold a new election in the county if it runs out of paper at 2% or more of its polling sites for more than an hour, the newspaper noted.

Harris County, it should be noted, votes largely Democratic, and voted 56% for Joe Biden in 2020. Both Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz (R) also lost Harris County when they ran for reelection.

Sen. Royce West (D-Dallas) noted, “You want to vest in a political appointee the ability to make a decision as to whether or not an election should be overturned and reheld?”

And Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee said the bill was “about targeting the largest county in the state, which is led by people of color.”

The bill now goes to the Texas House, where it’s likely to pass, meaning that one man would have the right to tell voters in the state’s largest county that their ballots are not going to be counted.

WATCH Jim Jordan Have A Meltdown When A Democrat Calls Him Out For Trashing The FBI

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who may well be one of the most compromised members of the current U.S. Congress, proved again today that while he loves dishing out attacks on others, he cannot handle being criticized by anyone else.

During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the POLICE Act, which proposes to crack down on crimes by immigrants, Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) noted that committee should also take a long look at mass shootings.

“House Republicans have set their sights on defunding and abolishing federal law enforcement agencies,” Dean began. “This is a hypocrisy. It’s an oxymoron, what we’re participating here.”

She added, “Remember, Chairman Jordan has said he wants to use the power of the majority to cut funding for the DOJ and the FBI. Matt Gaetz, Mr. Gaetz, the gentleman from Florida, wants to abolish the ATF.”

The led Jordan to say that the FBI had targeted Catholics: “I do think we should evaluate how the American tax dollar going to that organization is being spent. That to me seems common sense.”

“So heck yes, this committee should look at that,” he added. “We have primary jurisdiction over the Justice Department. And we are doing that.”

Dean: “So it seems to me that it is very clear you support defunding the FBI.”

That’s when Jordan had a hysterical hissy fit.

“I didn’t say that!” he thundered. “I said we’ve got to look at, one of the things we do in this business, in this Congress, is you look at how you appropriate funds.”

“If you don’t want to, if you just wanna keep sending money to the FBI that’s spying on people in church, go right ahead and take that position,” Jordan added.

Gym is still angry with the FBI for carrying out a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago that led to the retrieval of dozens of classified documents taken illegally from the White House by convicted sex offender and former president Donald Trump.

Mississippi Governor Posts Reelection Video Online That Features Him Shooting Minorities

If you thought that you’d seen all of the incredibly disgusting things that Republicans can possibly post online, consider the case of Mississippi GOP Gov. Tate Reeves.

Reeves recently decided to announce that he’s running for reelection in 2024 with a video depicting him as Clint Eastwood starring in one of his old spaghetti westerns

Granted, that’s bad enough, especially since Mississippi has the highest mortality rate from firearms in the country.

But the video also shows Reeves shooting minorities, according to The New Civil Rights Project., which referenced an item from Talking Points Memo.

“Reeves’ face is superimposed on Eastwood’s in clips from the classic Dollars trilogy movies. He’s seen cosplaying the white anti-hero, the Man with No Name, shooting at Mexican bandits with a Colt revolver and puffing on a cigarillo,” TPM’s Emine Yücel writes.

What policy is Reeves trying to make a point about? Immigration? Crime?

Actually, no policy is even mentioned, just Reeves shooting people like some sort of deranged vigilante trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, which is pretty damn low in a state as backwards as Mississippi.

Perhaps the real reason Reeves is trying to change the subject is because his state is a disaster…… when it comes to the issue of health care.

Under (his) leadership, Mississippi has suffered a huge health crisis. In September of 2020, the Mississippi Clarion Ledger revealed a “new report ranks Mississippi’s overall health care system dead last. ‘It’s an embarrassment,’ said one health expert.”

Reeves is also suggesting in speeches that he’s up against what he calls the “national liberal machine,” which he portrays as a cadre of bloodthirsty killers.

Governor Reeves told supporters, “this is a different governor’s campaign than we have ever seen before in our state because we are not up against a local-yokel Mississippi Democrat, we are up against a national liberal machine.”

“They are extreme. They are radical and vicious,” he said of Democrats and the “national liberal machine.”

“They believe welfare is success. They believe that taxes are good and businesses are bad. They think boys can be girls, that babies have no life, and that our state and our nation are racist.”

Well, you know what they say, Tate: If the Klan robe fits, you might as well wear it.
