Susan Collins Gets Shredded For Her Outrage Over Trump Being Booted From Ballot In Maine

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is absolutely outraged that Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows removed failed former president Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 primary ballot as a result of his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election and his support for the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Collins — who voted to impeach Trump in 2021 but acquitted him in 2019 — weighed in on the action taken by Bellows on Twitter/X, writing, “Maine voters should decide who wins the election – not a Secretary of State chosen by the Legislature. The Secretary of State’s decision would deny thousands of Mainers the opportunity to vote for the candidate of their choice, and it should be overturned.”

That was a bridge too far for many on social media, especially when you consider a statement Collins made after the Jan. 6 attack in which she thundered:

“President Trump had stoked discontent with a steady barrage of false claims that the election had been stolen from him.

“The allegedly responsible officials were denigrated, scorned, and ridiculed by the President, with the predictable result that his supporters viewed any official that they perceived to be an obstacle to President Trump’s reelection as an enemy of their cause. That set the stage for the storming of the Capitol for the first time in more than 200 years.”

The blatant hypocrisy of Collins’ outrage set off a wave of criticism aimed directly at her.

Lauren Boebert Switches Congressional Districts In Desperate Effort To Win Reelection

Having seen her poll numbers continue to fall and sensing that she is toast in the 2024 election, controversial Colorado Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert announced Wednesday that she will be switching districts in a desperate attempt to win another two-year term in the House of Representatives.

HuffPost reports that Boebert made the announcement via a video posted on Facebook.

Boebert implied in the video that her departure from the district would help Republicans retain the seat, saying, “I will not allow dark money that is directed at destroying me personally to steal this seat. It’s not fair to the 3rd District and the conservatives there who have fought so hard for our victories.”

“We have to protect our majority in the House,” she said.

Boebert’s sudden shift to another district comes just three months after a self-inflicted humiliation in which she was caught on video groping her date at a theater production of “Bettletjuice” in Denver. The congresswoman and her acquaintance were booted from the theater for their behavior. She later offered a non-apology apology and saw her poll numbers plummet among likely voters.

The congresswoman made reference to the theater incident in her Wednesday post, noting, “I’ve made my own personal mistakes and have owned up and apologized for them.”

That apology, however, clearly wasn’t enough to convince voters in her district that she could be trusted to represent them, and her change of location means she’ll probably win reelection, as the new district is the Colorado’s most conservative.

However, Boebert still faces the lingering stench of her own detestable public behavior and highly controversial stances on issues such as abortion, immigration, and the federal budget.

WATCH A Comedian Do A Perfect Trump Impression And Leave CNN’s Jim Acosta In Stitches

Comedian Matt Friend is one of the best political impressionists in the world, and his uncanny knack for imitating the voices of Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell, and Ron DeSantis has made him a viral social media sensation.

Friend appeared on CNN Christmas Eve, speaking with host Jim Acosta, who has more than a little experience covering what takes place in Washington, D.C., and it didn’t take long before the comedian had Acosta in stitches, starting with his impression of Trump.

“Jim, it’s true. Very true. Excuse me, Jim. What was I supposed to — this is the guy — I yelled at him many times. Such fake news, I’ve yelled at him many times before. It’s a failed network. Look at him smiling like a dog. Ask the question, Jim. Ask the question. Let’s see what you can do, please.”

Laughing, Acosta noted, “I feel like I’m back at the White House, not exactly the feeling I was hoping for.”

Friend continued his impressions, mocking Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley, then changing into McConnell and saying nothing, completely frozen.

Near the end of the discussion, Acosta thanked Friend for his time, which led the comedian to transition into his Ted Cruz impersonation:

“At least I didn’t get a latte and a pencil. The difference is I am not a senator from Texas! I’m a comedian who’s going to go read a book…”

Thin-Skinned Trump Gets Mocked In Hilarious Attack Ad That Suggests He Smells Like ‘Sh*t’

Over the past week or so, there have been numerous suggestions that failed former president Donald Trump has an odor surrounding him that people find to be incredibly disgusting.

It’s unclear what could be causing the foul odor that emanates from the Donald, though some have speculated it may be a combination of his haircare products, fake tanning routine, and possibly a dirty adult undergarment that he neglected to change.

Just last Saturday, former GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger brought up the issue of Trump’s smell once again, posting on Twitter:

And now we have The Lincoln Project releasing a new attack ad that’s guaranteed to enrage the thin-skinned ex-president.

The ad begins with shots of things that smell: Dumpsters, manure, trash bags. Those are followed by a photo of Trump Tower.

At the same time, on the soundtrack you can hear people coughing and sniffing, with a woman finally asking, “Donald, is that you?”

The ad drew plenty of reaction on social media.

Colorado Ballot Ruling Could Wreck Trump’s Defense In Pending Criminal Cases

A Tuesday ruling from the Colorado Supreme Court that invalidates former president Donald Trump from appearing on the state’s 2024 ballot due to his violating the Insurrection Clause of the 14th Amendment is bad electoral news for the disgraced ex-president, but it could also be a problem for the attorneys defending him on numerous criminal counts, according to Hugo Lowell of The Guardian

Lowell was a guest on MSNBC, and he was asked by host Katie Phang, “As we talked about … there [are] these pockets of cases that coming up and they are intended and designed to ensure that we don’t have another insurrection, another crazy second term with Donald Trump. Is this going to change the litigation calculus, the strategy calculus for Donald Trump now, considering this decision coming out of Colorado?”

“I think it necessarily changes it,” Lowell responded.

“I can tell you with certainty, according to our sources, Trump and his team didn’t anticipate getting removed from the ballot at all,” he continued. “After the district court’s decision in Colorado, that kind of left him just off the hook. They thought that would be the end of the road … I am speculating now, but I assume that the fact that the appeals court has ruled that Trump should be struck off the ballot will come as a surprise. I just texted someone at the campaign and they have not responded to me yet about, you know, kind of what they are thinking.”

The Colorado ruling will also negatively impact attorneys for Trump in other cases, too, Lowell predicted.

“They have consistently called January 6th, you know, this was a First Amendment thing, this was called political speech, an argument they have made in the D.C. federal cases and an argument in the motion to dismiss in Georgia, and this was generally the argument they were settling on with respect to any questions about January 6th and what Trump said at the Ellipse rally. Of course, the D.C. District Court has also, you know, rejected Trump’s arguments that the speech makes him immune from prosecution because they found — well, the judge essentially found that it is not immunizing if the speech was in furtherance of a crime. And I think the fact this is piling up necessarily has to change his legal calculus going into the new year.”
