Failed one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump tried to mock Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) for his weight and quickly got reminded on social media that someone as portly as him is in no position to fat shame anyone else.
During a fundraiser held at Mar-a-Lago for Rep. Ronnie Jackson (R-Texas), Trump suggested that Tester was obese, according to Politico.
But as many on social media reminded the disgraced ex-president, he isn’t exactly svelte himself and often looks like a walrus wearing an ill-fitting business suit.
Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair Lara Trump is making no secret of GOP plans for the 2024 election: They want to guarantee that millions of ballots aren’t counted in the hope that their efforts will hand the election to failed former president Donald Trump.
Speaking with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, Trump proudly announced that her party has filed suit in the state of Nevada to make it illegal for any votes to be counted after Election Day.
Similar efforts are taking place in the key swing state of Pennsylvania, Trump revealed.
So if a ballot isn’t counted on the day of the election, it should be thrown out, according to the GOP.
As HuffPost notes, the Republican effort is meant to undermine the 2024 election.
“The lawsuit filed by the RNC in Nevada doesn’t seek to stop counting ballots after Election Day, but rather seeks to prohibit counting any mail-in ballots received after that date, even if they were postmarked in time.
Under the state’s current law, ballots received up to four days after Election “Day are counted, as long as they are postmarked before the end of the day on Election Day.”
It didn’t take long for social media to explode with criticism of the RNC plan.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) got called out and corrected this morning when he suggested on ABC News that rioters who attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, merely “wandered” into the building.
This Week host Jonathan Karl reminded Cotton of a statement he made following the riot regarding Donald Trump’s role in that horrific day: “It’s past time for the president to accept the results of the election, quit misleading the American people, and repudiate mob violence.”
Cotton incorrectly replied that Trump had accepted the results of the 2020 election “that very day.”
“He said that he would consider pardons, and some of them probably…” Cotton sputtered.
Karl interjected, “And he called them hostages. So you agree these are hostages?”
“Some of them have been held in pre-trial detention longer than the sentences for the crimes with which they are charged,” Cotton insisted. “For people who just wandered into the Capitol, they thought it was open or was on the grounds.”
That’s when Karl slapped Cotton with a timely fact-check.
Rather than address that point, Cotton whined the Justice Department had failed to prosecute “left-wing street militia threatening to assassinate Supreme Court justices.”
“People who were involved in that riot, who assaulted police officers, or who defaced and damaged public property should face the legal consequences,” he added.
“Isn’t it odd that the Republican nominee doesn’t agree with that?” Karl wondered.
“What shouldn’t be used is every grandma who had a red MAGA hat that was within a country mile of the Capitol on January 6th shouldn’t be sitting in pre-trial detention for a longer time than the crimes for which they might face a sentence,” Cotton whined.
Like nearly every member of the GOP since Donald Trump took complete control of their failing political party, Tom Cotton has become little more than a hypocritical shill who cannot criticize the failed ex-president, even when he incites an insurrection. Is it any wonder why so many Americans are sick and tired of Republicans and their bullshit?
Bogged down in a hush money trial that could go on for several more weeks, former president Donald Trump has been forced to cut back on his angry campaign rallies, and likely doesn’t have the stamina for such events, according to former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele.
Steele was discussing an interview Trump gave to Time in which he declared, “… if we don’t win, you know, it depends. It always depends on the fairness of an election.”
“Here’s the problem: you have Donald Trump saying I will accept the results if they are honest. The process is an honest process, the results will be honest. The idea that you think of all the elections that we have had in the history of this country that your election is the least honest and the most corrupt, it just shows the fallacy of what the man is laying out there,” Steele explained.
Looking directly into the camera, Steele told the disgraced ex-president, “That is your truth, Donald Trump. And what you are trying to do is game the system, as he did in 2016 and 2020, to say that, ‘If I don’t win, the system is corrupt.’ No, Donald Trump, if you don’t win it’s because more people voted against you than for you and our electoral system confirms that.”
If you’ve been on Twitter this week, you may have seen a bizarre hashtag that left you scratching your head and wondering if social media had gotten even stranger than usual.
So what exactly is going on here? Well, it appears that the MAGA faithful have fully embraced the notion that failed former president Donald Trump does indeed wear adult diapers and they’re completely cool with the whole idea, according to Harry Fletcher of Indy100.
“The posts from (former Trump attorney Michael) Cohen, which were posted in April, show him taunting Trump and calling him the nickname ‘Von S**itzInPantz’.”
“Since this bizarre turn of events, Trump’s supporters seem to have embraced the nickname in an unexpected way, turning up to rallies wearing diapers and shirts with the slogan ‘real men wear diapers’ written upon them.”
