Reporter Thinks He’s Found Proof The Supreme Court Leak Came From A Conservative

Ever since a draft Supreme Court opinion in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was leaked to Politico, outrage from figures on the political right has been palpable, with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) all but foaming at the mouth as he insisted that if the leaker can be found, he or she needs to be punished to the maximum extent of the law.

But what if the actual leaker was a conservative, perhaps even a conservative Supreme Court justice?

Jonathan Chait of New York magazine was a guest on MSNBC to discuss a column he wrote in which he laid out the case that someone on the right is the most likely suspect:

“I want to be clear that I have no idea who leaked this and it definitely could have come from the left. but I wrote this because so much of the commentary from the right simply assumed that the leaks that come from the left and ignored the fact that we have a smaller leak three days before from the Wall Street Journal that had the same effect they’re decrying, which is to put public pressure on the justices to rule in a certain way. That is the reason why they say this leak is so dangerous, because it subjects the justices to this kind of lobbying and that is exactly why the Wall Street Journal was leaked this early version, and they really had the inside scoop on the breakdown inside of the court.”

The editorial Chait referenced from the Wall Street Journal included this paragraph:

“If [Roberts] pulls another Justice to his side, he could write the plurality opinion that controls in a 6-3 decision. If he can’t, then Justice Thomas would assign the opinion and the vote could be 5-4. Our guess is that Justice Alito would then get the assignment.”

And that’s exactly what happened, as Chait noted in his article:

This turned out to be a good guess!

The editorial proceeded to craft an argument for why Kavanaugh and Barrett should stick with Alito rather than defecting to Roberts. Leaking internal deliberations in order to lobby the justices seems to be fine when conservatives are doing it.

Chait ends his article with this analogy:

If a bank employee stole a small amount of money from the safe and then, a few days later, there was a huge robbery from the same safe, who would be your first suspect?

As supporting evidence, Chait included these tweets from conservative Randy Barnett:

https://twitter.com/RandyEBarnett/status/1522160270017282051?s=20&t=Uy6MBIv2YEA8dgHtbTrlHg

Two hours later, Barnett tweeted:

https://twitter.com/RandyEBarnett/status/1522190059604164619?s=20&t=204-0wtIIxEQVe32ucSETA

It’ll be interesting to see what Ted Cruz and other conservatives have to say if Chait’s theory of a right-wing leak is proven to be true.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims She’s Worried Abortion Will Produce ‘Genocide In The Black Population’

According to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) — aka the “Jewish space laser” nut — the reason she’s being such an asshole on a daily basis as a member of Congress is because she wants to eliminate all abortions in the United States.

Appearing on Real America’s Voice, Greene tried to explain away her verbal attack on her Democratic colleagues on the steps of the Capitol last Friday by suggesting that her vitriol had been about abortion:

“I said, ‘Are you happy you passed a bill that babies can be slaughtered up until the day of birth?’ There were so many Democrats and they have their signs: ‘Build Back Better Women.’ How on Earth is it making women better by creating a law where they can kill a baby in their womb even though the baby is about to be born? How are we building back better women when we’re turning men into women?”

She continued:

“And so I just started speaking out. Most of them weren’t saying anything to me but it was Debbie Dingell — like a dingleberry — she started fussing at me, telling me I needed to be civil to my colleagues and act the way I would act going to church.”

Of course, it’s highly unlikely that Greene even goes to church. And if she does, she certainly hasn’t learned anything about the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

But it was what Greene said next that proved her blatant hypocrisy and exposed her words as lies:

“They believe that life is so important that they are willing to shut down our economy, force children to stay home from school so no one dies from Covid. All of them voted for this bill that is actually producing genocide in the black population because they put Planned Parenthood mostly in these black-dominated neighborhoods and, you know, they’re just pushing abortion and birth control.

“When we’re passing bills like that, no one in here believes in God. We’re fighting against this and I refuse to be quiet anymore. It’s not go-along and get-along.”

Does Marjorie Taylor Greene expect us to believe that she gives a diddly damn about black people in the United States? She wanted to start a caucus to advocate for the “Anglo-Saxon political tradition,” as CNN reported in April:

Punchbowl News obtained a flier promoting the new caucus, which calls for a “common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions” and pushes a series of conspiracy theories about election integrity. The flier also outlined a nativist argument warning that “mass immigration” poses a threat to “the long-term existential future of America as a unique country with a unique culture and a unique identity.”

Does it sound like Greene cares about black people? Of course she doesn’t. She’s a racist like the vast majority of the GOP. She just wants an issue she can run on in 2022 when she tries to get reelected.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is a cancer on the Congress and the country. Let’s hope she gets beaten in the midterm elections.

Greene Heckles Democrats At Photo-Op And Gets Her A*s Handed To Her

On Friday, shortly after the House of Representatives passed the Women’s Health Protection Act as a response to the restrictive abortion law put in place by the Texas legislature, House Democrats gathered on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for a photo-op and news conference to discuss the issue of reproductive choice.

As they were speaking to the media, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) showed up and began heckling the gathering of Democrats, accusing them of being in favor of murder.

Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-CA) looked at Greene and told her she was merely being “performative.” Greene (who probably has no idea what the word “performative” means, told Aguilar:

“No, you’re performative.”

Great comeback, Marjorie. For a five-year-old, maybe.

A few moments later, as Greene continued to babble like a psychopath, Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) let the Georgia congresswoman have it, telling her she needed to learn the basics of Christianity and “respect your neighbor.”

Greene hissed at Dingell:

“Try being a Christian …”

But again, Dingell was more than ready, firing back:

“You try being a Christian! And try treating your colleagues decently!”

Exactly. Greene is said to have been “gleeful” on the day of the Jan. 6 riots, according to Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY), who told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on Thursday:

“I was there on the House floor, at that location with a bunch of Republicans who were — one in particular who was gleeful of the events transpiring outside. It took me a minute to understand why she was having such a good time. But I saw it. I saw it with her staff who caught up with her. They were excited about what was going on. They had been at the White House, I believe, the day before talking about what was going to happen.

“I don’t want to say but her initials were Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

Clearly, Greene wasn’t expecting the level of pushback she got from Democrats when she decided to try and interrupt their event. And, clearly, Greene has way too much time on her hands since her own party stripped her of any committee assignments for her disgusting, anti-Semitic comments and unhinged behavior.

The voters in Greene’s district need to replace her in the 2022 midterm election. Unless, that is, they like having the laughingstock of the entire Congress as their so-called representative.

Texas Doctor Admits That He Just Violated The State’s ‘Extreme’ Anti-Abortion Law

Even though Texas has passed the most restrictive abortion legislation in the country, Dr. Alan Braid is admitting in a very public way — an op-ed in The Washington Post — that he performed an abortion and is in direct violation of the law.

Dr. Braid begins by noting that he started his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1972, a year before Roe v. Wade made abortion legal nationwide:

“At the hospital that year, I saw three teenagers die from illegal abortions. One I will never forget. When she came into the ER, her vaginal cavity was packed with rags. She died a few days later from massive organ failure, caused by a septic infection.”

Roe changed everything for those who provide health care to women, Braid goes on to explain, but he fears the bad old days may be about to return in the Lone Star State:

“Then, this month, everything changed. A new Texas law, known as S.B. 8, virtually banned any abortion beyond about the sixth week of pregnancy. It shut down about 80 percent of the abortion services we provide. Anyone who suspects I have violated the new law can sue me for at least $10,000. They could also sue anybody who helps a person obtain an abortion past the new limit, including, apparently, the driver who brings a patient to my clinic.

“For me, it is 1972 all over again.”

What did Dr. Braid do? What a doctor should do: He put the needs of his patient above the law and performed an abortion:

“And that is why, on the morning of Sept. 6, I provided an abortion to a woman who, though still in her first trimester, was beyond the state’s new limit. I acted because I had a duty of care to this patient, as I do for all patients, and because she has a fundamental right to receive this care.”

“I understand that by providing an abortion beyond the new legal limit, I am taking a personal risk, but it’s something I believe in strongly. Represented by the Center for Reproductive Rights, my clinics are among the plaintiffs in an ongoing federal lawsuit to stop S.B. 8.

“I have daughters, granddaughters and nieces. I believe abortion is an essential part of health care. I have spent the past 50 years treating and helping patients. I can’t just sit back and watch us return to 1972.”

Braid says he realizes there could be legal consequences for his actions. But he did what he believed was right as a medical professional:

We need more doctors like Alan Braid. And we need fewer politicians who are eager and willing to stick their noses where they don’t belong out of political expediency.

Sarah Palin Says AOC Is A ‘Fake Feminist’ And Gets Her A*s Handed To Her

We haven’t heard much from failed 2008 Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin, and that’s a blessing, because she rarely has anything valuable to say and is usually just trying to find a new way to grift a buck or two and remain semi-relevant as the world passes her by.

But the failed, half-term former governor of Alaska is back, and she’s decided that the new Texas anti-choice abortion legislation is a good thing and since she’s a “feminist,” she knows how women feel on the issue.

However, Palin made a very big mistake when she went on Fox News this week and commented on remarks that had been made by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) about the Texas abortion bill that was signed this week by Gov. Greg Abbott (R).

Specifically, Newsweek reports, AOC told Anderson Cooper of CNN that Abbott was “not familiar with a menstruating person’s body” and should not be regulating one.

That led Palin to retort:

“(AOC is) such a fake feminist that she would bring up an issue like this and try to use it to make some kind of political point.

“She’s so off base politically, but even off base in the analogy or whatever it is that she’s throwing out there. She’s milking the whole female thing, and as a real feminist, I’m embarrassed for her.”

AOC is a fake feminist but Sarah Palin is a real one? That’s kind of odd when you consider that the congresswoman is defending a woman’s right to make her own reproductive choices without government interference while Palin is cheerleading for old white men in Texas passing laws that would put Big Brother in every woman’s uterus.

That led Ocasio-Cortez to drop a video online in which she expertly trolls Palin by looking into the camera and asking:

“Does my existence make you mad? Does the fact that, yes, I am a mouthpiece for the people of New York’s 14th congressional district upset you? Well, I have help for you. Call 1-800-CRY-NOW. That’s 1-800-CRY-NOW.”

And that’s not all. AOC also set up a website that makes contributions for a purpose that’s certain to upset Palin:

That’s not only expert trolling, it’s putting your money where your mouth is. Well done, AOC!
