Matt Gaetz Lets The Cat Out Of The Bag On GOP Talk Of Impeaching Joe Biden

Even as House Republicans continue to proclaim on a daily basis that they have “proof” of crimes committed by President Joe Biden that warrant impeachment, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) admitted that the real reason for all the GOP talk of impeachment is nothing more than a political ploy.

Appearing on a right-wing radio show, Gaetz remarked:

“I worked very hard in January to develop a toolkit for House Republicans to use in a productive and positive way. I don’t believe we’ve used those tools as effectively as we should have. We’ve got to seize the initiative. That means forcing votes on impeachment. And if Speaker McCarthy stands in our way, he may not have the job long. Let’s hope he works with us, not against us.”

A toolkit, huh? That’s certainly on-point considering that Gaetz is one of the biggest tools on the planet.

Since McCarthy has such a narrow majority in the House, it’s very possible that hardliners like Gaetz will eventually get their way on a formal vote regarding opening an impeachment inquiry, even though they have no evidence whatsoever to warrant such a move.

Not long after Gaetz made his comments, White House spokesperson Ian Sams fired back:

“On the heels of openly admitting the goal of impeachment isn’t to get to the truth but instead to damage the President politically, Matt Gaetz is yet again confirming that House Republicans’ evidence-free impeachment stunt is being driven by the demands of the most extreme, far-right members of Congress. Last week, Marjorie Taylor Greene threatened to shut down the government if she didn’t get an impeachment vote, and now Gaetz is threatening to potentially oust Speaker McCarthy if he doesn’t give them what they want. If Speaker McCarthy opens an impeachment inquiry simply to throw red meat to the right wing, it will yet again prove this is nothing more than a costly, illegitimate, politically-motivated exercise not rooted in reality.”

Gaetz and his extremist colleagues in Congress are trying to protect their political savior, Donald Trump, by muddying the waters in a desperate effort to distract from his four indictments (with more possibly on the way) as polling shows independent voters saying they cannot vote for Trump in light of the crimes he’s accused of.

The desperation among the GOP is so palpable that now they’re saying the quiet part out loud.

New Photo Of Trump From ‘Bikers For Trump’ Rally Is Proof Positive He Doesn’t Weigh 215 Pounds

Over the Labor Day weekend, there was something called a “Bikers for Trump” rally held at the failed former president’s Bedminster, New Jersey golf club.

The disgraced ex-POTUS gave a brief report of what transpired at the rally on his failing Truth Social site.

A very large group of “Bikers for Trump” just left Bedminster. What a great time we all had. The motorcycles were AMAZING, the love and enthusiasm absolutely “beyond.” Thank you all. We must WIN in 2024. MAGA!

Granted, that’s not a very big or important happening in the grand scheme of things, especially when you consider that Trump worshipers will make up any bogus excuse or fake event that gives them a chance to worship their multiply-indicted tangerine-tinted savior.

But a photo from the rally led to plenty of discussion on social media about the weight listed on Trump’s booking form when he was processed at the Fulton County, Georgia jail on August 24.

Specifically, Trump listed his height and weight as 6-3 and 215 pounds, which everyone (including him) knows is complete bullshit. He hasn’t weighed 215 since he was 40 years old, and he probably didn’t weigh 215 then.

Here’s the photo from “Bikers for Trump,” courtesy of Ron Filipkowski:

If that’s what 6-3 and 215 looks like, then a $5 bill will also buy you a Mercedes sports coupe.

Trump’s “215” looks a hell of a lot more like 300, doesn’t it? And that was certainly the consensus on Twitter.

6-3, 215? Sure he is. On the moon, maybe.

Court Documents Reveal Mark Meadows And Other Co-Defendants Are Already Flipping On Trump

With each day and each new court filing from attorneys representing co-conspirators who allegedly worked with disgraced former president Donald Trump to try and overturn 2020 election results in the state of Georgia, it becomes clearer that many of those charged are eager and willing to toss the ex-president under the bus in order to save their own asses, according to a report from Politico.

One of those co-defendants is former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

During a hearing in Atlanta, a defense attorney for Meadows called attention to Trump’s prominent role in what is certain to be a crucial element of prosecutors’ case there: the infamous Jan. 2, 2021, phone call in which Trump demanded that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, “find” enough votes to declare Trump the winner.

Meadows arranged that pivotal call. But after prosecutors played audio of the call in the courtroom, an attorney for Meadows emphasized that his client’s part in the actual discussion was both more minor and less provocative than Trump’s.

“There’s a lot of statements by Mr. Trump. Mr. Meadows’ speaking roles were quite limited,” Meadows’ lawyer, Michael Francisco, observed as he cross-examined Raffensperger, who was called to testify by prosecutors.

“He didn’t make a request that you change the vote totals — Mr. Meadows, himself?” Francisco continued.

“Correct,” Raffensperger replied.

And then there was this, which also appeared in court documents:

Meadows made clear in his own testimony at last week’s hearing that Trump viewed the false electors as a significant part of his strategy to remain in power. He said he sent an email pushing the campaign to assemble those slates because he feared a tongue-lashing from Trump.

“What I didn’t want to happen was for the campaign to prevail in court action and not have this” lined up, he said.

“Why?” prosecutor Anna Cross asked him.

“Because I knew I’d be yelled at by the president of the United States,” he said.

The Georgia racketeering charges filed against Trump and 18 co-defendants by Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis could send each person to prison in the Peach State for decades, meaning that everyone associated with the conspiracy has a strong incentive to cooperate with prosecutors or prepare for a long term of incarceration.

Trump has also been indicted in Florida and Washington, D.C. by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Biden Shreds Trump On Labor Day As A ‘Developer’ Who ‘Didn’t Build A Damn Thing’

Speaking on Labor Day to Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 19 in his home state of Pennsylvania, President Joe Biden made it clear that he intends to let the American people know he’s on the side of the working men and women of this country while his likely 2024 Republican opponent, failed former president Donald Trump, is little more than a man who makes money off the labor and sweat of others.

Referring to Trump as “the last guy,” HuffPost reports, Biden told the union members:

“Guess what? The great real estate builder, the last guy, he didn’t build a damn thing. Under my predecessor, infrastructure week became a punchline. On my watch, infrastructure has been a decade, and it’s a headline.”

Biden, on the other hand, signed a $1 trillion infrastructure bill that will fund nationwide infrastructure projects for decades to come.

The president has chided Trump before on the subject of infrastructure, remarking in April of 2021:

“How many times have we heard, ‘This is Infrastructure Week,’ over the last four years? About every second week is ‘Infrastructure Week,’ but no infrastructure was built.”

Biden also took an opportunity on Labor Day to hit Trump on the issue of job creation.

“The guy who held this job before me was just one of two presidents in history … who left office with fewer jobs in America than when he got elected to office. By the way, you know who the other one was? Herbert Hoover. Isn’t that kind of coincidental?”

“All I hear from my friends on the other side is what they say is wrong with America,” Biden said. “They keep telling us America’s failing. They’re wrong. I’ve got news for them: America has the strongest economy in the world right now, today.”

Donald Trump GOP U.S. Senate WTF?!

Marsha Blackburn: Biden’s Health Makes Him Incapable Of Leading But Mitch McConnell Is ‘On Top Of His Game’

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) made a complete fool of herself (as she so often does) during a Sunday appearance on Fox “News” when she asserted that President Joe Biden isn’t “capable of leadership,” but Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is “on top of his game” despite two recent episodes when he froze while speaking and had to be led away.

Host Jason Chaffetz asked Blackburn about McConnell’s health.

“You have people that are having medical issues and seriously cognitive issues in their ability to do their job, not just Joe Biden, which is well documented. Sen. Feinstein, Sen. Fetterman are also dealing with hard, difficult issues, as well as the Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, who’s had two medical episodes.

“Can these people continue to be in leadership positions, let alone serve in their capacities in the House and the Senate?”

Blackburn responded, “Jason, I think the one that deserves our attention at the top of the list is President Biden, who is to be the leader of the free world. And when you see Joe Biden struggle with words, with days, with times, with places, then it drives home the point of how important it is to have someone who is capable in leadership.”

Surprisingly, Chaffetz pressed again.

“But Senator, I do need to ask you about Mitch McConnell. Twice he’s been at the microphone and had a dramatic pause. There’s some belief that he had an accident, a slip, a fall, perhaps a concussion. Can he continue to lead the Senate Republicans in that capacity?”

Blackburn: “I’ve talked to people who were with him right after that, and he was alert and fine and moving forward, asking questions, very involved with the meeting that he was attending and seemed to be on top of his game.”

On top of his game? Is that what you call this?

Maybe it’s time we had Sen. Blackburn checked to see if she still has a brain.
