At the urging of failed, one-term former President Donald Trump, ex-Georgia Sen. David Perdue (R) will announce his candidacy to be the 2022 GOP nominee for governor of the state of Georgia today, a direct slap in the face of current Gov. Brian Kemp (R), who is seeking reelection for a second term in office.
Perdue’s challenge to Kemp has set off panic within the Georgia Republican Party, with Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan going on CNN Monday morning and begging Trump to stay out of the state’s politics, which would likely hand the state to likely Democratic nominee, Stacey Abrams.
A former FBI counterterrorism official Frank Figliuzzi said Monday that what he already sees on the horizon for the 2022 midterm elections will make the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection “pale in comparison.”
Appearing on MSNBC, Figliuzzi warned:
Noting that QAnon Republicans are taking over at the local and state level which is incredibly dangerous, Figliuzzi continued:
From a national security perspective, Figliuzzi said, the threat the nation faces in 2022 “is going to make the Jan. 6 riot pale in comparison.”
The Justice Department, he concluded, needs to get active, and fast:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is whining because the House GOP leadership won’t do whatever she tells them to, failing to realize that as a freshman member of Congress who doesn’t serve on any committees (thanks to her own big mouth and offensive, anti-Semitic statements), she has zero credibility.
Appearing on Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) podcast this week, Greene lamented her plight:
That led MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart to expertly mock Greene on his show Sunday, remarking:
Capehart then turned to former GOP political consultant Stuart Stevens and ex-Republican National, Committee head Michael Steele, asking Stevens:
Jim Jordan as Speaker of the House? Can you imagine the danger that would be to this country? He’s a man who allegedly allowed male college students on the wrestling team he was a coach for to be routinely molested by the team doctor without ever reporting the abuse those wrestlers say he witnessed. Putting such a person third in the line of secession to the White House would be a massive national security risk.
If Marjorie Taylor Greene is so damn unhappy in Congress, here’s a free bit of advice for her: Don’t run for reelection next year. No one but the knuckle-dragging troglodytes on the far right of the Republican Party will miss you in the least.
In a viral video that’s making its way around the internet, failed, one-term former President Donald Trump crashed a wedding and began making unhinged remarks that reminded the country why we voted his sorry ass out of office.
The video shows Trump attacking Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation’s top military leader, referencing a conversation Trump alleges he had with Milley:
Mocking Milley’s voice, he claimed the general told him:
Trump then tells the wedding guests:
A few minutes later, Trump again raises the issue of the 2020 election:
Yeah, it’s very simple, all right: Donald Trump is a deranged old man who needs to go easy into that good night and leave us all the hell alone.
For some time now, we’ve been aware that washed-up actor Sylvester Stallone is a fan of Donald Trump. There are even photos of him visiting the failed, one-term ex-president in the Oval Office:
But now it appears that Stallone also belongs to the QAnon cult which is built around a core belief that the governments of the world are controlled and led by a group of Satan-worshiping pedophiles who eat the adrenal glands of children.
Stallone made a posting on Instagram, Newsweek reports, that left many people shaking their heads in disgust:
Stallone has shared a picture of himself wearing a hat with the letter “Q” on it, captioning the selfie with a phrase closely linked to the QAnon conspiracy theory.
The Rocky and Rambo star uploaded the photo to Instagram, where he has more than 14.3 million followers, with the caption: “Heading into the Storm….”
The post is not a direct endorsement of the far-right movement, which is listed as a terrorist threat by the FBI, but it has sparked speculation that Stallone is making coded references to QAnon.
What in the hell?! Heading into the storm? WTF is that even supposed to mean? It’s safe to bet that if Stallone had to actually try and survive a storm the size of a hurricane, he’d be hiding under a bed.
To the QAnon nuts, “the Storm” has a different meaning:
In QAnon lore, “the Storm” is the moment when high-profile child abusers, including leading Democrats and members of the Hollywood elite, will be arrested and executed on the orders of Donald Trump, who is seen as a savior-like figure.
Faithful QAnon conspiracy theorists were delighted to see Stallone’s cap:
But non-Q faithful were dismayed by the posting:
Stallone never had much talent, and now he’s associating with assholes who wear tinfoil hats and see boogiemen behind every corner.
It’d be tempting to say Stallone took too many blows to the head, but he was never that bright to begin with.
