Those fancy $399 gold sneakers failed one-term former president Donald Trump began hawking to his supporters over the weekend are not only massively overpriced, but they likely won’t even ship to buyers for several months, according to fine print found on the website where the shoes are for sale.

How long could the wait be? Up to five months or even longer.

Here’s what you can find on the FAQ section of the GetTrumpSneakers.com website:

“Trump Sneakers are expected to start shipping July 2024 for the gold High-Tops, and the Potus 45 White Knit & Red Wave Knit are expected to ship in August 2024. Shipping and delivery dates are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. We are not liable for any delays in shipments.”

Why the long wait time? According to the website, it’s all because each pair is unique.

The word the website repeatedly uses is “special.”

The Trump legacy? What legacy would that be? The multiple bankruptcies? The two impeachments? The 91 criminal counts?

Or is the Trump legacy more accurately described as the worst presidency in U.S. history and the first since Herbert Hoover to see a net job loss in four years? Add in the over 400,000 Americans who died of COVID while Trump was in office, and it’s hard to see what’s so damn “special” about his legacy. It’s one of failure, death, grifting, and crime.
