Ted Cruz Flayed Online After Falling For Fake Pic Of Shark Swimming Down A Flooded Highway In California

Despite holding a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and law degree from Harvard, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) couldn’t resist proving once again that he isn’t the sharpest knife in the proverbial drawer and will literally believe just about anything he sees on social media.

The latest humiliation for Cruz came in the form of a posting on Twitter which purported to show a shark swimming down Highway 405 in downtown Los Angeles, which has been hit hard by flooding from Tropical Storm Hilary, according to Mediaite.

The 2023 version of the photo came from Dan Katz with Barstool Sports, whose X handle is “Big Cat.” He posted, “Friend of mine out in LA just took this picture on the 405. And yes, all news and media outlets you have permission to use this. Wild.”

As you can see from the fact check below the photo, it has been circulating online ever since 2011 and also showed up in 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Cruz later added a note after he’d managed to let the internet know that he’ll believe just about anything he runs across online.

Be sure to note the wording: I’m told this is a joke. Translation: Cruz cannot even accept the truth when it’s staring him in the face and he has access to Google. Why? Probably because he’s a damn idiot with an inflated ego that doesn’t allow him to admit he made a major mistake.

Let the mockery begin.
