Mitt Romney Has The Perfect Response To Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Call For A ‘National Divorce’

After spending Presidents Day floating the idea of a “national divorce” between red and blue states, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) doubled down on the idea Tuesday, appearing on Sean Hannity’s show and suggesting that failing to do so could lead to a civil war.

According to Mediaite, Greene told the Fox News host:

“Everyone I talk to is sick and tired and fed up of being bullied by the left, abused by the left, and disrespected by the left.
“The last thing I ever want to see in America is a civil war. No one wants that; at least everyone I know would never want that. But it’s going in that direction, and we have to do something about it.”

All of Greene’s brainless chatter about splitting up the country wasn’t well-received by Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), who told the Deseret News:

“You know, I think Abraham Lincoln dealt with that kind of insanity. We’re not going to divide the country. It’s united we stand, divided we fall.”

He added:

“There are some people in my party and the other party that say things to try and get a headline and get people to send them money. And that happens to be in today’s ‘loony left,’ or I should say ‘loony right.'”

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) echoed Romney’s comments, responding to Greene on Twitter.

“This rhetoric is destructive and wrong and—honestly—evil. We don’t need a divorce, we need marriage counseling. And we need elected leaders that don’t profit by tearing us apart. We can disagree without hate. Healthy conflict was critical to our nation’s founding and survival.”

Of course, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Greene is talking about ripping the country apart and causing a second civil war. She’s an insurrectionist and traitor. Her actions and words on January 6, 2021 and in the days after are proof that she hates this country and is only interested in trying to promote herself and her toxic ideas.
