Pete Buttigieg Shreds J.D. Vance For Using ‘Pro-Family’ Rhetoric To Cloak His Bigotry

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttgieg slammed GOP vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance this morning during an appearance on CNN, making it clear that while Vance claims to be “pro-family,” his words suggest otherwise.

Asked about an interview CNN conducted with Vance in which the Ohio Republican accused Democrats of being anti-family, Buttigieg made it clear he has no use for the senator’s bogus pronouncements on the topic of what constitutes a family.

“Let’s be clear, we’re the ones trying to get the Child Tax Credit expanded and J.D. Vance couldn’t be bothered to show up in the Senate and vote for it and Republicans have blocked that from being expanded or it’d be the law of the land right now.”

“So if you want to talk about promoting children, promoting family, put your money where your mouth is,” Buttigieg added.

Buttigieg also told host Dana Bash, “Look, when you asked him and pressed him on whether my family was legitimate, he said yes because I think he felt shamed into it. But let’s remember also, the last time I checked, he doesn’t even think I should legally be able to have a family.”

“Now, if he really got his way in his anti-marriage equality views, I don’t know if that means that he would want me and my husband to be forcibly divorced and separated from our children or if he’d be satisfied just to have us lose legal protections like the ability to do our taxes together, visit them in a hospital,” he added. “I don’t know exactly what his vision of us not having a family looks like, but I know that it’s not pro-family for me.”

Make no mistake. Vance and his political godfather, Donald Trump, think they have the right to determine what constitutes a family. But their version of family is something from the 1950s and has no relevance at all in 2024.

Buttigieg is right. And Vance’s narrow-minded bigotry needs to be called out every time he opens his big mouth.

VIRAL VIDEO: Woman Flips Off Ranting Far-Right Oklahoma School Superintendent

An Oklahoma woman has gone viral thanks to her reaction at a school board meeting as the state’s education superintendent spoke angrily about “woke” policies and spewed anti-trans hatred.

According to HuffPost, Oklahoma School Superintendent Ryan Walters is about as far to the right as one can get politically short of changing his name to Atilla the Hun, and his rant was so over the top that one person in the audience couldn’t contain her disgust.

Walters tried to get in all the right-wing trigger words as he slammed a “radical, woke, activist judge” who he said is “pressuring” school districts to change birth certificates of trans students to match their gender identity.

“We see a lot of this coming from the Biden administration trying to force dictates onto our states and onto our individual schools,” Walters said.

As she listened to Walters, the woman shook her head and was visibly disgusted by what he was spewing. Finally, she could no longer contain her anger and flipped off the superintendent in clear view of the camera.

Social media users shared their delight with the woman’s reaction and disgust for Walters .

Pete Buttigieg Hilariously Trolls Ron DeSantis For His Anti-LGBTQ Ad With ‘Oiled-Up’ Bodybuilders

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg absolutely destroyed Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis for a bizarre anti-LGBTQ ad he released online, suggesting that the governor might be more than a bit insecure about his own manliness.

The ad, which as been roundly condemned, NBC News reports, left both Democrats and Republicans shaking their heads.

DeSantis’ campaign reposted a video to Twitter last week showing overtures to the LGBTQ community by Trump over the years, including footage of him saying that he would “do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens” during a speech at the Republican National Convention in 2016. Trump issued the remarks in the wake of the deadly mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

The second part of the video shifts to a focus on DeSantis that appears to attempt to portray him as the paragon of masculinity. Thumping background music is accompanied by images of DeSantis, shirtless muscular men and headlines about the anti-LGBTQ policies DeSantis signed into law.

Here’s the ad in question:

Log Cabin Republicans, the largest LGBT Republican organization, condemned the ad, issuing a statement which reads, “Today’s message from the DeSantis campaign War Room is divisive and desperate. Republicans and other commonsense conservatives know Ron Desantis [sic] has alienated swing-state and younger voters.”

Buttigieg was asked for his take on the advertisement during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union.

“You know, I’m going to choose my words carefully, partly because I’m appearing as secretary, so I can’t talk about campaigns,” Buttigieg told host Dana Bash.

“I’m going to leave aside the strangeness of trying to prove your manhood by putting up a video that splices images of you in between oiled up shirtless bodybuilders. And just get to the bigger issue that that is on my mind whenever I see this stuff in the policy space — which is, again, who are you trying to help? Who are you trying to make better off? And what public policy problems do you get up in the morning thinking about how to solve?”

Buttigieg then referenced recent infrastructure initiatives he unveiled during visits to Kentucky and North Dakota.

“These are the kinds of problems that most of us got into government, politics and public service in order to work on. And I just don’t understand the mentality of somebody who gets up in the morning thinking that he’s going to prove his worth by competing over who can make life hardest for a hard-hit community that is already so vulnerable in America.”

DeSantis may think his divisive rhetoric and ads will help him win in 2024, but he’s wrong. The vast majority of this country is sick and tired of bigotry disguised as patriotism and hatred wrapped in the guise of domestic policy.

Walmart Gives Anti-Pride Activists The Middle Finger – Refuses To Pull LGBTQ Merchandise

After anti-LBGTQ bigots started boycotts of Bud Light, Kohl’s, and Target for daring to express their support for LGBTQ equality and Pride Month, many other corporations were worried they might be next.

But the largest retailer in the country, Walmart, is making it clear they won’t be intimidated by bigots and homophobes, letting the world know they will not be pulling any of their Pride Month merchandise for anyone and no matter the consequences.

Yes, Walmart.

Reuters reports that Walmart isn’t about to be intimidated and isn’t making any concessions to bullies.

Walmart on Wednesday said it has not made any changes to its LGBTQ-related merchandise tied to Pride Month, or to security measures in place at its stores, a week after rival Target pulled some LGBTQ-themed products following customer backlash.

“We haven’t changed anything in our assortment,” Latriece Watkins, Walmart’s chief merchandising officer, said.

And if you’re thinking that Walmart doesn’t have to change anything because they don’t offer much in the way of LGBTQ merchandise, consider that they carry “rainbow-adorned flags, clothing and accessories. Its ‘Pride & Joy’ collection includes a $7.98 set of enamel pins with messages such as ‘Be you. Be Proud.’ and ‘You are enough.'”

Watkins also noted that there has been no need to increase security at its stores, many of which are located in deeply red states.

“In this particular case, when we think about security … we have not done anything in particular differently related to security in our stores.”

Online reaction to Walmart’s hardline stance has been muted, and there have been almost no calls for a boycott of the retailer. Kind of makes you wonder why the haters have chosen to exclude Walmart.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Defends Her Boyfriend After He Gets Busted Dressing In Women’s Clothes

Ever since she arrived in Congress, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has made it clear that she is a proud bigot when it comes to the issue of equal rights for LGBTQ Americans, even going to far as to suggest that members of the LGBTQ community are trying to “groom” young children so they can sexually exploit them.

But today karma caught up with the controversial Georgia Republican in the form of a video being distributed on social media which shows her current boyfriend, Brian Glenn, who works as director of programming at Right Side Broadcasting, dressed in drag as part of a news broadcast he did several years ago, according to Newsweek.

Sharing the clip, which is captioned “A Tuna Christmas to open at Casa Manana,” Greene said Glenn had dressed as a woman “for morning news in Dallas years ago reporting on an upcoming local theatre production.”

Greene reacted to the video by attacking those who had shared it, but she clearly didn’t understand her own blatant hypocrisy, writing:

I’m literally lol’ing.

@brianglenntv dressed in drag for morning news in Dallas years ago reporting on an upcoming local theatre production and the morons over at Patriot Takes think this is an attack. Brian loves the throwback and is reposting.

😂

The left is so stupid.

Reaction to the video and to Greene’s pathetic attempt to dismiss it was righteously harsh and hilarious.
