Congress GOP Right Wing Morons WTF?!

One Of Marjorie Greene’s Constituents Believes Hillary Clinton ‘Cut A Girl’s Face Off And She Wore It’

If you’ve ever listened to Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene speak or read one of her tweets, you’ve probably wondered: How did someone this completely unfit and unprepared for office ever get elected in the first place?

The answer, of course, is that Greene’s constituents in her North Georgia district elected her, and talking to some of them makes it painfully clear that they support her because they’re just as deranged as the person they voted for.

Stephanie McCrummen of the Washington Post recently paid a visit to the 14th congressional district of Georgia, and what she found is like something out of a novel written by Carson McCullers or Flannery O’Connor, filled with oddball characters and a level of Southern gothic that borders on absolute insanity.

Angela Rubino goes by the moniker “Burnitdown” in her online postings, and McCrummen spent some time with her while in the 14th, reporting:

Six years into the grass-roots movement unleashed by Donald Trump in his first presidential campaign, Angela Rubino is a case study in what that movement is becoming. Suspicious of almost everything, trusting of almost nothing, believing in almost no one other than those who share her unease, she has in many ways become a citizen of a parallel America — not just red America, but another America entirely, one she believes to be awash in domestic enemies, stolen elections, immigrant invaders, sexual predators, the machinations of a global elite and other fresh nightmares revealed by the minute on her social media scrolls.

Rubino, to put it simply, all but worships Greene:

In Greene, she did not see what much of America saw — a person willing to do almost anything to keep emotions running high, whether that meant perpetuating lies about election fraud, harassing a victim of a school shooting, speaking at a white nationalist conference or casting fellow citizens who disagree with her as ‘domestic terrorists.’ Instead, Rubino saw a person like herself: a political outsider who shared the same sense of urgency about the same dystopian America, one that required a popular uprising to save it.

Oh, and the people Rubino associates with are (as you’d expect) just as demented as her, as McCrummen discovered when she joined a vote canvas:

There was a military contractor who said he’d been reading a Russian book about CIA-sponsored regime change operations, which he believed included the last U.S. presidential election. There were women who believed public schools were indoctrinating children with left-wing ideology. Retirees who believed the coronavirus was a bioweapon. A mechanic who wore ear buds all day streaming ‘War Room,’ a podcast in which former Trump strategist Stephen K. Bannon was urging people to take over local Republican parties.

But perhaps the most disturbing thing Rubino said during the time McCrummen was with her is this tidbit she shared with a friend of hers, Melissa Smith:

“Did you ever see that clip about Hillary Clinton where she cut a girl’s face off and she wore it?” said Rubino, referring to one of the fake videos of the type always coming across her social media scroll. “I could hardly watch.”

How did Greene respond to Rubino when they met at a primary night event for the congresswoman? The encounter was a bit like two visitors from space as they bonded in mutual admiration:

Greene smiled and told people that instead of giving an off-the-cuff speech, she had written one out for once. And so in the more careful and polished manner of a leader on the rise, she began describing the America that Rubino believed in more and more, one at war with “globalists” and the “democratic communist agenda” and elites who “look down on us” and “hate us.”

She listened as Greene spoke of an “American revival.” She nodded along as Greene said, “It is we who will set the public agenda for the next decade.”

How did Marjorie Taylor Greene get elected? By pandering to people even more deranged and profoundly ignorant than she is.

Meet The 9 House Republicans Who Voted To Deny Formula To Babies In Poor Families

For weeks now, Republicans in Congress have been excoriating the Biden administration for the shortage of infant baby formula in the United States, even though blame squarely lies with Abbott Laboratories, which had to shut down a manufacturing facility in Michigan after it was discovered some of their formula was contaminated with a dangerous bacteria.

To help solve the problem, President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he was invoking the Defense Production Act and would also be allowing for an increase in imports of baby formula to the U.S.

And yet, when Republicans were given the chance to help babies in poor families get access to more formula, nine members of the House GOP voted no to expansion of a program that would do exactly that, according to Newsweek:

The Access to Baby Formula Act, also known as H.R. 7791, would allow low-income women to buy more baby formula through the federal Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program.

It received a 414-9 bipartisan support in a House vote on Wednesday amid the formula shortage crisis in the country.

The nine lawmakers who voted about the bill were all Republicans. They are: Reps. Andy Biggs (Arizona), Lauren Boebert (Colorado), Matt Gaetz (Florida), Louie Gohmert (Texas), Paul Gosar (Arizona), Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia), Clay Higgins (Louisiana), Thomas Massie (Kentucky) and Chip Roy (Texas).

Attempting to explain his heartless vote, Gaetz remarked:

“It will allow WIC to utilize a far greater portion of the baby formula market, crowding out many hard-working American families.

“All considered, government-empowered swings to markets typically create more problems than they solve. Instead of creating new emergency authorities for the Incompetent Biden Regime, we should source more product for all American families and solve the problem.”

Bullshit! Gaetz and his eight colleagues don’t give a damn about poor children, especially if they happen to be from families of color.

The next time you hear a Republican mention the “sanctity of life,” keep in mind that’s just a talking point they use during election season. The rest of the time, they don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves.

Boebert And Greene Despise With Each Other – Had To Be Separated At GOP Conference: Report

You’d think that two Republicans as extreme and reactionary as Reps. Lauren Boebert (CO) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) would be best buddies, but it turns out they can’t stand the sight of each other, according to revealing new article from Politico.

Privately, Republicans say Boebert (R-Colo.) — who’s seen as more of a party team player than Greene — detests being tied to her Georgia colleague. And when the House Freedom Caucus board of directors gathered last month at its usual spot a few blocks from the Capitol, the two tangled over Greene’s appearance at a February event organized by a known white nationalist.

Their confrontation grew so heated that at least one onlooker feared the Greene-Boebert back-and-forth might escalate beyond the verbal cage match had another board member not stepped in to de-escalate, according to a GOP lawmaker who was granted anonymity to describe what happened. The incident was confirmed by three people connected to the Freedom Caucus, whose members largely avoided public criticism of Greene and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) at the time and focused their discontent on the event organizer, Nick Fuentes.

What’s going on inside the GOP? Are the snakes turning on each other? To answer that question, it’s instructive to consider how the Freedom Caucus came to be.

The Freedom Caucus was created for the purpose of giving more power and influence to extreme right-wing, Tea Party Republicans, and it has become an influential (and controversial) offshoot of the GOP. Conference members are even signaling they may sink House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) plans to be the next Speaker of the House if Republicans win control in the midterm elections.

However, cracks are forming inside the Freedom Caucus, and some members are already talking about bolting the group and forming their own offshoot, which could fracture congressional Republicans even further, diluting their power even if they do manage to retake the House.

The dustup between Boebert and Greene is emblematic of a larger fissure building inside the GOP in the Age of Trump and the Big Lie about the 2020 election:

In part because of those Trump acolytes’ influence, some Republicans say privately that they’re watching to see if the Freedom Caucus ends up becoming what it was designed to correct: a bloated GOP group that lacks cohesion.

Even if McCarthy does manage to become the next House Speaker, it sounds like his new job will be about as thankless and impossible as that of the proverbial cat herder.

GOP Pollster: Republicans Think Trump Is A ‘Child’ And Laugh At Him

With the midterm elections now just seven months away, some Republicans are taking a long look at the party and trying to figure out if failed, one-term former President Donald Trump still holds sway in the GOP.

The answer, it seems, is that Trump is seen by many in the know as being in the rearview mirror with his influence and importance dissipating by the day.

Eleanor Clift writes in The Daily Beast that well-known Republican pollster Frank Luntz is convinced Trump is history:

“They won’t say it [in public], but behind his back, they think he’s a child. They’re laughing at him.”

Luntz also explained that the vast majority of Republicans have no desire to relitigate the 2020 election and would rather drop the subject completely:

“Trump isn’t the same man he was a year ago. Even many Republicans are tired of going back and rehashing the 2020 election. Everybody else has moved on and in Washington everyone believes he lost the election.”

Clift warns that while Trump’s influence may be waning inside the GOP, that could change depending on how candidates he has endorsed do come November:

“Republicans may be laughing at Trump behind his back, as Luntz indicated, but making fun of the former president could backfire. When President Barack Obama ridiculed Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011, the putdown was so stinging that some believe it prompted the real-estate tycoon’s 2016 bid for the presidency.

“This time around, we will learn when the votes are counted in the nearly 130 races where Trump has endorsed a candidate, testing his strength in the Republican Party to pick governors and senators and even state legislators—and testing the theories of those who say his best days are behind him, and the fortitude of those who mock him.”

The GOP Attempted To Troll President Biden And Wound Up With Egg On Their Face

The Republican Party can’t quite decide who exactly they are.

Are they the GOP of old? It doesn’t appear so.

Is today’s GOP really the Party of Trump, a wholly-owned subsidiary of one man’s anger and ego? That certainly seems to be the case.

However, today’s Republican Party doesn’t excel at trolling the current president, Joe Biden, as they so humiliatingly proved with a tweet about the seizure of fentanyl at the U.S.-Mexico border that only served to reinforce that Biden and his team are doing exactly what he promised to do: Keep us safe and treat every American with the respect they deserve.

Here’s the tweet in question:

Of course, the key word in the tweet that completely undercuts the GOP’s desperate attempt at slamming Biden is that the 839 pounds of fentanyl was “seized” at the southern border. That means it didn’t make it to the streets and lives were saved as a result.

The drugs aren’t “flowing” if they’re being interdicted. Do Republicans understand that? If so, they would have never sent out that tweet, which only serves to make them look completely clueless.

Twitter had a field day with the GOP’s complete lack of awareness:
