Expect Trump To ‘Launch A Second Violent Attack’ If Indicted For Any Crimes: Former Prosecutor

As soon as next week, a district attorney in Fulton County, Georgia will likely hand down indictments against disgraced one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump for his attempt to overturn the results of the Peach State’s balloting in the 2020 election.

But what will happen if and when DA Fani Willis makes those indictments public and Trump realizes he’s significantly closer to spending years in prison?

According to former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, Trump will “launch a second violent attack” much like the one that took place on January 6, 2021, when thousands of his supporters stormed the Capitol, resulting in the deaths of five people.

Speaking with SiriusXM radio host Dean Obeidallah, Kirschner laid out a scenario.

“Let’s talk about the time frames of possible prosecutions. I think we have to start with Fani Willis, because when she stood up in court a couple of weeks ago and she said two really important things, she said, Judge, you can’t release the grand jury report, which recommends, I’m quite sure, prosecuting any number of people for any number of violations of Georgia state law. You can’t release it because it would impact the defendants, plural. And she made a point in several different ways of saying defendants, plural, it would interfere with their right to a fair trial. You don’t say that. The only way you become a defendant is if you’re going to be indicted.”

Staying on the subject of Fani Willis, Kirschner added:

“She’s not reckless or careless with her words. That signals indictments are coming. Then she went on to say, and our prosecutorial, our charging decisions are imminent. Not a casual word. Imminent has to mean weeks. To my way of thinking. It could mean months. It sounds like weeks. Right.”

“And we do know the regular grand jury came back into session to make these decisions beginning on January 24th. So we’re in good shape. It feels like indictments are imminent in Georgia. That’s probably.”

That’s when the discussion turned to Donald Trump:

“And, you know, Dean, I have to say, you know, with Donald Trump now posting and reposting calls to violence, specifically, one of his supporters said, ‘I will fight for him if he is not made president again. I will fight for him until the day I die. We are locked and loaded.’

“And Donald Trump reposted it. Here’s what I predict, Dean. The day Donald Trump is indicted and is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on that indictment, his first court appearance, he will post, ‘Come to Atlanta on the day of my arraignment will be wild.’ And here we go again. Let’s see if DOJ gives him the opportunity to launch a second violent attack. I sure hope not. But I think Fani Willis gets out of the gates first.

Former Federal Prosecutor Says He Expects A Criminal Indictment Of Mark Meadows Any Day Now

According to former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, there’s a criminal indictment waiting to be handed down by the Justice Department with the name of former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows on it.

The recent ruling from the Supreme Court that said failed, one-term former President Donald Trump cannot exert executive privilege, Kirschner noted, applies to Meadows, too, meaning that he can either cooperate with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol insurrection or he can be charged with a crime:

“We now know that the Department of Justice is factoring in the Supreme Court’s rejection of Donald Trump’s executive privilege claim. And that clears the decks for an indictment of Mark Meadows.”

Kirschner then explained why the Supreme Court ruling is so devastating for Meadows and other former aides who served in the Trump administration:

“Because if Donald Trump doesn’t have an executive privilege claim, then Mark Meadows can’t invoke Trump’s by extension. I was kind of hoping today [Friday] would be the day — the day that Mark Meadows was indicted. Why? Because today is day 45. Forty-five days since Congress referred Mark Meadows for criminal prosecution.”

However, Kirschner concluded that he expects we won’t have to wait much longer to see Meadows indicted for criminal contempt:

“It looks like we’ll have to wait. At least another couple of days because nobody gets indicted on the weekend, so Monday will be day 48. And if we have to wait another couple of days, or couple of weeks, so be it as long as that indictment comes.”
