Liz Cheney Incinerates Ted Cruz: You’re ‘Posturing For The Secessionist Vote’

Ever since he was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012, Ted Cruz (R-TX) has been known as the most hated person on the upper chamber of Congress, even among members of his own party.

And now Cruz is picking yet another fight with a fellow Republican, but this time he chose the wrong person to go to war with.

Over the weekend on CNN, there was a discussion of who in the GOP might run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. It included a mention of Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who has been a critic of failed, one-term former President Donald Trump and his apologists. Here’s the video:

Cruz, who seems to have a pathological need to be a Twitter troll (despite that fact that he’s no good at it and usually winds up owning himself), couldn’t resist commenting on the CNN debate:

“Yes. It’s called the Democratic primary.”

Cheney was more than equal to the challenge from Cruz, cutting him to the quick with this reply:

“I know you’re posturing for the secessionist vote, Ted. But my party, the Republican party, saved the Union. You swore an oath to the Constitution. Act like it.”

And then Cheney got support from another Republican and even a Democrat, both from the House, who were only too happy to remind Cruz that he’s been a slavish sycophant for Trump despite the fact that the ex-president accused the senator’s father of being involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy and suggested that his wife, Heidi, is ugly.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who serves on the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection with Cheney, poured salt on Cruz’s social media wounds:

“Damn son Liz brought the heat on you!”

Cruz desperately tried to counter with this pathetic retort:

“These two need to hurry up and get their bottom-rated @msnbc show.”

Kinzinger responded:

“Senator, you’ve been given a huge position to lead and tell people truth. Yet you have squandered it on lies and abused the patriotism of those who trusted you. I will have zero regrets… will you?”

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) also blasted Cruz by mentioning him in a perfectly worded follow-up to Kinzinger’s tweet:

“Adam, if you want @tedcruz’s support you’re going to have to attack his wife.”

That led to this reminder for Cruz about what had just happened to him as a result of his childish attack on Cheney:

Yep. Burned Rafael right down to the Texas dirt he came from.

Joy Reid’s Nightmare Prediction About Donald Trump Will Absolutely Terrify You

On her show Friday evening, MSNBC host Joy Reid made a Halloween prediction that is certain to terrify anyone who cares about the future of this country and the Constitutional republic failed, one-term former President Donald Trump and his GOP minions have tried to destroy.

Wearing a witch costume, Reid warned that a return of Trump in the 2024 election would be an absolute nightmare, and she even laid out how fears things might happen in the next race for the White House:

“Just picture it, an even older, weirder Donald Trump buoyed by Republicans who game the voting system.”

Reid went on to explain that Trump would actually lose the election, and that’s when the things would take a turn for the worse. GOP governors and legislatures would ignore the will of the voters and install Donald as president:

“So Trump returns but he’s unconstrained because there are no more American democratic elections. With his own little puppet, puppet Kevin McCarthy as speaker, whom he can dangle and fling to his delight, and his his cruel wicked henchman grim reaper Mitch McConnell back in charge in the Senate … there is no stopping him.”

McConnell, Reid continued, would have refused to let President Biden fill any Supreme Court vacancies, but once Trump is back in power, the GOP would install another right-wing justice and cement a 7-2 majority:

“If you think it’s racist and fascist out here now, just wait until all of Trump’s monsters are unleashed. Picture the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters and the Boogaloo Boys with real power, Trump’s own personal militia, racist sheriffs and police free to commit untold violence against anyone they please, all in the name of Trump. The land ravaged, plowed for every drop for oil and coal until it all just burns.”

Anyone who wants to make sure this country doesn’t descend into authoritarianism and fascism needs to make sure and vote in every election at every level: Local, state, and national.

To borrow a phrase from Benjamin Franklin: We have a republic, but only if we can keep it.

Don Jr. Posts A Photo Of His Dad Looking ‘Younger’ And Twitter Erupts With Laughter

If it’s a day that ends in the letter “Y,” then you can bet that Donald Trump Jr. is sucking up to his old man in a pathetic attempt to curry favor with the failed, one-term former president.

But this time is even more ridiculous than usual, as Junior wants us to believe his father — who’s 75 — is looking “younger.”

Here’s the posting Don Jr. made on Instagram and was later shared on Twitter:

Does he look younger to you? Quite frankly, in that photo, he looks like a wax sculpture that someone has done some serious photo retouching on. And the smile is more sinister than friendly. If this is the “younger” Trump, then someone should check him for a pulse.

The overall consensus on social media was that Trump is and always will be a fat old man. He didn’t suddenly get in shape.

He got younger? Nah, he got hold of a jacked up copy of Photoshop.

Donald Trump Elections Melania Trump

Could Trump’s ‘Melania Problem’ Destroy His Plans To Run In 2024?

If he does indeed decide to seek the White House again in 2024, failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump may just have do it solo, because Melania Trump is reportedly not the least bit interested in being first lady for a second time.

CNN’s Kate Bennett said recently on “Inside Politics” that Melania is telling friends she’s sick and tired of being an accessory for Donald:

“Not unlike 2016, Melania Trump has no intention really of joining the campaign or being a prolific presence. I’ve spoken to people who said that she’s not really even interested in being in the White House again, going through being first lady again.”

Bennett then added that Melania doesn’t want the spotlight that comes along with the public life of a first lady:

“We know she’s an extremely private person and that being in the public eye wasn’t necessarily something she wanted to do in the first place. She’s retreated now back to Mar-a-Lago, being a mom, et cetera, and she really has no interest in helping her husband with his perceived, as we all know, his political ambitions.”

That led host Kaitlan Collins to inquire:

“Is this not a conversation that’s happening?”

Bennett replied:

“I don’t think that’s how they operate. People are under the misconception that this is a couple that don’t spend time together, they don’t talk — it’s really not true. They have very independent lives but they do consult each other. In 2016 when she was asked to do events, asked to go on campaign events and rallies, the answer was ‘no’ so often that people on Trump’s campaign just stopped asking her because it was always going to be a no — and we’ll see that again this time around.”

It’s just as well. Melania Trump has almost no personality, usually seems bored, and butchers the English language when she does manage to say something. She comes across as cold and self-absorbed.

Will Trump even run again? That probably depends on what legal problems he’s facing at the time. And at the moment, it looks like he’s going to have quite a few of those.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Just Took The First Step To Running For President In 2024

In a sign that she may seek the 2024 Republican presidential nomination if failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump doesn’t run, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) will appear later this month at the Iowa State Fair, which is virtually a prerequisite for any candidate seeking the White House.

Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg reports:

“Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican congresswoman from Georgia known for espousing debunked conspiracy theories, plans to appear this month at the Iowa State Fair, according to people familiar with her plans. The gathering is a traditional platform for White House aspirants.

“It’s not yet clear whether Greene will speak at the event on Aug. 19 or just attend it. The Des Moines Register this year isn’t planning to organize a Soap Box, which politicians in the past have used to raise their profiles for a national campaign.”

On Tuesday, Greene attacked two of her House colleagues for daring to call for a continuation of the eviction moratorium which was first put into place when the COVID pandemic hit in the United States.

According to Greene, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Cori Bush (D-MO) had been protesting on the steps of the Capitol and turned it “into a homeless camp.”

Today, Greene took to Twitter and blatantly lied that the COVID-19 vaccine had caused pregnant women to have miscarriages, but provided absolutely no proof of her specious claim:

Greene is also fervently loyal to Trump and travels the country with accused sex trafficker Matt Gaetz (R-FL) in a pathetic effort to overturn the 2020 election which Trump lost to President Joe Biden, who also received the most votes in U.S. history.

If indeed Greene runs for the GOP nomination, she could actually win. The party has devolved into that level of insanity and idiocy. But if she does become the Republican presidential nominee, she’ll likely lose by a bigger margin than Trump did.
