Grand Jury Witness In Georgia Election Probe Accuses Giuliani Of Criminal Acts: Report

A witness who has testified before a sitting grand jury in the state of Georgia says there is no doubt in her mind that former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani committed crimes by trying to help failed ex-president Donald Trump overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Speaking with MSNBC’s Katie Phang, Georgia State Sen. Jen Jordan (D) said she was in the hearing when Giuliani tried to convince state legislators that the election had been stolen from Trump. That led Phang to inquire:

“As we mentioned, you testified before the special grand jury about the December 3rd, 2020 Georgia Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing. where Rudy Giuliani and others were spreading conspiracy theories about voter fraud in Georgia. Did Giuliani commit a crime before your very eyes?”

Jordan responded affirmatively:

“In my opinion he did. But obviously that’s not necessarily from me. That’s what’s significant about this special grand jury proceeding, they are gathering all of the evidence, they are pulling it all together, right? They are trying to kind of draw the line and see who was involved, what was said, what was done. What were the intentional acts that moved this conspiracy forward.”

She added:

“From my perspective, what we watched in that state Senate hearing was really the scheme that [Trump attorney] John Eastman had put together. I call him the architect of anarchy. The scheme he put together was really the implementation of that scheme on the ground.”

The January 6 House Select Committee, much like the Georgia grand jury, is trying to determine exactly what the former president knew and when he knew it, along with determining who participated in his blatantly illegal scheme to subvert the will of the American people who overwhelmingly voted to elect Joe Biden 46th President of the United States. The panel will hold two public hearings this week on Tuesday, July 12 and Thursday, July 14.

Aide To Mark Meadows Directly Implicates ‘Several’ Members Of Congress In Attempted Election Coup

Today’s public hearing of the January 6 House Select Committee expanded the conspiracy that had already been laid out in previous hearings, and we learned that Republican members of Congress were indeed part of the conspiracy to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Cassidy Hutchinson was a top aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and the committee played portions of her videotaped testimony in which she named Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and “several members of Congress” who in late November and early December took part in a plan to draw up a slate of alternate electors who would go against the will of the voters and suggest that failed former president Donald Trump should remain in office.

Several members of Congress. Who might they be? We don’t know yet, and Hutchinson didn’t name them in the portion of her testimony that was broadcast today. But the fact there are multiple Republicans tells us that we do indeed have a conspiracy to commit a criminal act against the United States, which is a very serious offense.

The House Select Committee knows the names, and it’s safe to bet they will be laying them out in the days ahead or in their final report, which will be released before the midterm elections in November.

Just for fun, let’s speculate who might be on that list of “several.”

  • Rep. Jim Jordan (OH)
  • Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ)
  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA)
  • Sen. Ted Cruz (TX)
  • Sen. Josh Hawley (MO)

Once those names are made public, criminal referrals can be made to the Justice Department, provided they haven’t already been.

There’s going to be some sleepless nights ahead for several in the GOP.

January 6 Committee Focused On Ginni Thomas’ ‘Extensive’ Role In Attempted Election Coup: Report

The January 6 House Select Committee now believes that Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, played an “extensive” role in efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and is now preparing to focus their attention on her, according to The Washington Post.

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol has obtained email correspondence between Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and lawyer John Eastman, who played a key role in efforts to pressure Vice President Mike Pence to block the certification of Joe Biden’s victory, according to three people involved in the committee’s investigation.

The emails show that Thomas’s efforts to overturn the election were more extensive than previously known, two of the people said. The three declined to provide details and spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

The committee’s members and staffers are now discussing whether to spend time during their public hearings exploring Ginni Thomas’s role in the attempt to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election, the three people said. The Washington Post previously reported that the committee had not sought an interview with Thomas and was leaning against pursuing her cooperation with its investigation.

Justice Thomas, it should be noted, was the only member of the high court who voted to block the release of White House records to the House Select Committee, writing a dissent in which he sided with the Trump administration. Since then, there have been calls for him to recuse himself from any decisions regarding the election that come before the court. So far, he has refused to do so and Chief Justice John Roberts has not insisted on such a move.

The Jan. 6 panel will meet in public session again this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. ET and is expected to focus on the pressure applied to former Vice President Mike Pence by failed, one-term former President Donald Trump and other White House officials to delay certification of the 2020 electoral votes.

Trump Attacks Barr As A ‘Marxist’ After Former AG Calls Him ‘Detached From Reality’

Failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump bitterly lashed out at his former attorney general, William Barr, just minutes after the January 6 House Select Committee played a videotaped deposition Barr gave in which he called the ex-president “detached from reality” for his repeated claims the 2020 election had been stolen from him.

In his testimony, Barr told Jan. 6 investigators:

“I was somewhat demoralized, because I thought, boy, if he really believes this stuff he has, you know, lost contact with — he’s become detached from reality.

“The election was not stolen by fraud.”

That triggered Trump BIG TIME, leading him to respond via his spokesperson, Liz Harrington, who, unlike Trump, still has a Twitter account.

It didn’t take long before others lit into Trump for his asinine complaint against the AG he handpicked.

WATCH: Fragile, Sweaty Trump Storms Out Of Interview When Told The 2020 Election Wasn’t ‘Stolen’

There was a time when every Fox News reporter who interviewed failed, one-term former President Donald Trump made an effort to defer to him and indulge even his wildest conspiracy theories.

But those days are long gone, as soon becomes clear from excerpts of an interview Trump gave to Piers Morgan for the streaming service Fox Nation.

A clip of the interview was made public by The New York Post on Wednesday, and in it Morgan tells Trump the 2020 election was “free and fair” and reminds him, “You lost!”

In response, a sweaty, agitated Trump remarks:

“Only a fool would think that.”

Morgan asks, “You think I’m a fool?”

The twice-impeached, disgraced ex-president responds:

“I do now, yes.”

At the end of the clip, Trump ends the interview prematurely:

 “Turn the camera off. Very dishonest.”

The full interview will air on Monday, April 25.

Morgan said afterwards the person he interviewed was very different than the man he met years ago:

“Normally, he’d greet me with a cheery smile and the words, ‘How’s my champ?,’ because I was his first ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ on the series that made him a TV superstar. But this time, there were no such welcoming niceties. I’d never seen him so livid or felt so uncomfortable in his presence as I did right now in his office. He was almost foaming at the mouth and kept shaking his head slowly and menacingly at me, like Don Corleone when he felt he’d been disrespected.”

As you’d expect, the MAGA faithful were enraged by the clip, and they vented their impotent rage on Morgan.
