WTF?! Trump Bizarrely Claims Special Counsel Jack Smith Stole The 2020 Election

While he loves to make fun of any verbal misstatement that President Joe Biden makes, failed one-term former president Donald Trump made the mistake of the year with statements he made today about the ongoing investigation being conducted by Justice Department Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Mediaite reports that Trump said in a video he posted on his failing Truth Social site that Smith attempted to rig the 2020 election against him because he’s leading in the polls. Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland in November of last year.

The video begins with Trump attacking Biden.

“He has been totally uncooperative, won’t show the documents under any circumstances, and is fighting like hell. I very simply went by the Presidential Records Act. Very importantly, it was designed and written for this purpose have a right to declassify and did absolutely nothing wrong, but was purposely given by the DOJ and Biden a Trump hating prosecutor, Jack Smith.”

Then the disgraced ex-president goes after Smith.

“He’s a Trump hater. His wife said Trump paid her. His family is a Trump hater. They all hate Trump. They hate him with a passion. They’ll do anything they can to hurt Trump. But he’s a harasser and an abuser of our people in order to obstruct and interfere with the 2020 presidential election.”

From there comes Trump’s suggestion Smith is actually trying to sabotage his chances in 2024.

“That’s why they’re doing it. We’re leading by a lot in the polls. If I weren’t, I believe it would all stop where if I weren’t running, I believe it would all stop immediately. But that’s not going to happen. The public will not stand for this unequal treatment. Joe Biden is guilty. I am not at all. Thank you very much.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Trump has made laughable verbal gaffes, as seen in this video from Newsweek:

It certainly appears that all the pressure on Donnie is taking a toll on his already diseased mind.

Trump Had Better Prepare Himself For ‘Much More Serious Charges’ In Georgia: Report

While the 34-count indictment handed down by a grand jury in Manhattan is currently making the headlines, failed one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump faces much greater legal peril — including decades behind bars — in the state of Georgia.

Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis certainly understands that her investigation is serious business and is taking every precaution, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Willis travels with a security detail and has equipped some members of her team with bulletproof vests and keychains with panic buttons. Early last year, she urged the FBI to conduct a risk assessment of the Fulton courthouse and government center after Trump called for similar large-scale protests against “prosecutorial misconduct” during a political rally. A few months later, the Fulton Sheriff’s office blocked off vehicle traffic on the streets surrounding the courthouse the day members of a special grand jury were selected and deployed a SWAT team to protect jurors as they returned to their cars hours later. It also assigned heavily armed officers to guard the courthouse steps and a bomb-sniffing dog the day a key witness, Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, arrived to testify.

Charles Pierce of Esquire notes that even if Trump does manage to slither out of being convicted in New York, the stakes in the Peach State are significantly higher.

And, even if the former president* were to win in New York, so what? Willis’ charges are far more serious than Bragg’s are. In Atlanta, the former president* may be indicted for crimes against the republic, for offenses against the idea of popular democracy. That is also Jack Smith’s brief for the DOJ, an investigation that looms like a giant Dust Bowl cloud behind these state prosecutions. Time has come today, in the immortal words of the Chambers Brothers. There are things to…realize.

Dominion Lawsuit Likely To Result In ‘Financial Death Penalty’ For Fox News

If Dominion Voting Systems prevail in their $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News, it could result in a “financial death penalty” for the network, leaving it unable to survive due to a lack of operating capital, according to former prosecutor Katie Phang.

In a column she wrote for MSNBC, Phang notes that “Fox is now trapped in an ever-worsening spiral of lies of its own creation. Time and time again, Fox allegedly trafficked in lies and falsehoods.”

The court filing laying out text messages sent by Fox executives and on-air hosts released this week is especially damning, Phang continues:

“Dominion doesn’t just have the upper hand, it has the truth on its side. If Dominion is successful, then all that would be left to determine is the amount of damages that Dominion is entitled to receive. That’s where the numbers become astronomical. Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion in lost profits and reputational harm.”

And then there’s the possibility of punitive damages, which could result in billions more being awarded to Dominion, Phang explains.

“Punitive damages … are not capped under New York state law and could also be in the billions of dollars. Punitive damages are intended to punish the wrongdoer and to deter others from repeating that egregious conduct. And a multi-billion-dollar punitive damages verdict would not just punish Fox News. It would send a ringing message to all media companies to keep themselves in check and uphold the truth.”

Here’s more on the Dominion-Fox lawsuit from MSNBC:

Tuesday Decision By Georgia DA Should Terrify Trump And His Attorneys

A decision announced in court Tuesday by Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis is certain to alarm disgraced former president Donald Trump and his attorneys.

According to CNN, Willis said that a special grand jury impaneled to investigate Trump and some of his allies in their attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the Peach State has recommended indictments for “multiple” defendants and the release those names and the charges against them is “imminent.”

“Decisions are imminent,” Willis told Judge Robert McBurney. We want to make sure that everyone is treated fairly, and we think for future defendants to be treated fairly it’s not appropriate at this time to have this report released.”

Donald Wakeford, Fulton County’s chief senior assistant district attorney, echoed Willis’ remarks:

“We think immediately releasing before the district attorney has even had an opportunity to address publicly whether there will be charges or not – because there has not been a meaningful enough amount of time to assess it – is dangerous. It’s dangerous to the people who may or may not be named in the report for various reasons. It’s also a disservice to the witnesses who came to the grand jury and spoke the truth to the grand jury.”

The judge agreed, promising there would be “no rash decisions.”

“No one’s going to wake up with the court having disclosed the report on the front page of a newspaper.”

Why is this such bad news for Trump and others, including Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) who also allegedly tried to get Georgia election officials to “find” additional votes for the failed ex-president? Simple: If no criminal charges were planned, the report could be made public without any delay.

What happens next? Willis will have to decide if she wants to pursue charges against those identified by the grand jury. And that’s where things could get dicey for Trump, CNN notes.

Willis has previously said she could pursue Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) charges in this case, which would allow prosecutors to bring charges against multiple defendants and make the case that Trump and his allies were part of a criminal enterprise.

Racketeering charges also carry enhanced penalties that could send those charged — if convicted — to decades in a Georgia prison.

Things are about to get very interesting who played a part in trying to overturn the will of the voters, and every eye is now on the state of Georgia.

Hannity Admits Under Oath He ‘Did Not Believe For One Second’ Trump’s Claims Of Election Fraud

While he loves to say that he agrees with everything one-term, twice-impeached former president does and says, Fox News host Sean Hannity admits under oath that he actually thinks the ex-president is full of crap.

Under oath in a deposition, Hannity was asked about allegations made by attorney Sidney Powell, who said voting machines made by Dominion Voting Systems were susceptible to fraud, the New York Times reports. And his response was the direct opposite of what he said on his show when discussing the matter of the 2020 election.

At the center of this imagined plot were machines from Dominion Voting Systems, which Ms. Powell claimed ran an algorithm that switched votes for Mr. Trump to votes for Joseph R. Biden Jr. Dominion machines, she insisted, were being used “to trash large batches of votes.”

Mr. Hannity interrupted her with a gentle question that had been circulating among election deniers, despite a lack of supporting proof: Why were Democrats silencing whistle blowers who could prove this fraud?

Did Mr. Hannity believe any of this?

“I did not believe it for one second.”

That was the answer Mr. Hannity gave, under oath, in a deposition in Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News, according to information disclosed in a court hearing on Wednesday. The hearing was called to address several issues that need to be resolved before the case heads for a jury trial, which the judge has scheduled to begin in April.

Yes, Fox is being sued for $1.6 billion thanks to people such as Sean Hannity, who parroted the lies from Trump and members of his campaign who tried to suggest the 2020 election had been stolen from the failed former president.

In other words, the Times notes, the testimony from Hannity “is among the strongest evidence yet to emerge publicly that some Fox employees knew that what they were broadcasting was false.”

And there’s also evidence that Fox tried to keep Powell from spreading her lies on their network, yet they continued to give her airtime.

Another previously unknown detail emerged on Wednesday about what was going on inside the Fox universe in those frantic weeks after the election. A second lawyer representing Dominion, Justin Nelson, told Judge Davis about evidence obtained by Dominion showing that an employee of the Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, had tried to intervene with the White House to stop Ms. Powell. According to Mr. Nelson, that employee called the fraud claims “outlandish” and pressed Mr. Trump’s staff to get rid of Ms. Powell, who was advising the president on filing legal challenges to the results.

All of this suggests that Fox knew they were broadcasting lies yet continued to do so, which is very bad news for the network because it shows a pattern of behavior that supports the assertion they deliberately tried to defame Dominion.

Oh, and it also suggests that Sean Hannity is a lying sack of shit. But then again, some of us have known that for years.
