Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has always been honest when it comes to the subject of disgraced one-term, twice-impeached, and thrice-indicted ex-president Donald Trump: He’s a threat to the United States and has no business ever being elected to any public office again.
Pelosi repeated that warning to the country today during an appearance on MSNBC, telling host Andrea Mitchell that she watched coverage of Trump’s arraignment in a Washington, D.C. federal court on four criminal counts Thursday.
But it was the way that she described how the failed former president looked that’s perfectly on-point.
“I wasn’t in the courtroom of course, but when I saw his coming out of his car or this and that, I saw a scared puppy.”
“He looked very, very, very concerned about the fate,” she continued. “I didn’t see any bravado or confidence or anything like that. He knows. He knows the truth, that he lost the election and now he’s got to face the music.”
Pelosi also noted that Republican support for Trump despite his multiple indictments (including yet another one expected next week in Georgia) proves that they have no policies, just a cult of personality.
“They have to change the subject and they have nothing to offer the American people in terms of jobs and the rest,” she said, noting that Republican party “shouldn’t be a cult to somebody frivolous with the law and his puppets.”
A scared puppy. Once again, the former speaker captures the essence of the terrified little man-child Donald Trump will always be. For all of his bluster, he’s nothing but a coward.
