Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who has long been known as a loose cannon on any number of subjects, decided today during a House hearing on vaccine safety that she’d prove her own massive ignorance by arguing with a medical doctor.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) began the hearing by asking Food and Drug Administration official Dr. Peter Marks to comment on the importance of vaccines in controlling the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
“It’s estimated in the United States about 3.2 million lives [were saved] and it’s estimated, globally, that COVID-19 vaccines saved over 14 million lives, conservatively,” Marks replied.
Marks also noted that COVID-19 killed some 1.1 million Americans and at the height of the pandemic was killing over 3,000 each and every day.
That led Greene to accuse Marks of lying.
“I’m not a doctor but I have a PhD in recognizing bullshit when I hear it,” Greene began.
“I’d like to point out to everyone that we knew early on … that the people that were at risk of hospitalization and dying of COVID were those that were obese, had diabetes, were over the age of 65. We also knew the children were at no risk, practically zero risk, of being hospitalized or of death from COVID-19. We knew the young people, healthy young people, were not at risk. However, Dr. Marks, you rushed through this process of authorizing these vaccines even though you knew the side effects.”
Of course, Greene offered no proof of her specious allegations. And she also failed to mention that few side effects are as horrific as a slow death by suffocation, which was what happened to tens of millions of people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also, if Margie is such a damn expert on bullshit, maybe it’s time she smelled the putrid filth that emanates from her blowhole.
