Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She’s Ready To Dump Mike Johnson And Be Speaker Of The House

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said today she’s fed up with the way Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) continues to make deals with Democrats to fund the government and may soon demand his ouster so that she can run for the post.

Speaking with former Trump administration official Steve Bannon on his podcast, Greene said she’s “absolutely had it” with Johnson.

While discussing why Johnson is refusing to go along with a government shutdown, Greene insisted, “When all reality outside of the bubble of Washington, D.C., regular Americans could care less about a shutdown, because they view the Capitol, they view this town as the exact complete cause of all of their woes. They don’t care if it shuts down.”

“They don’t care if federal employees are not receiving a government-funded, taxpayer-funded paycheck,” Greene added. “They want the government to get out of their lives. What we should be doing is we should be going to a limited functioning.”

She also floated the idea of running for Johnson’s job is she does indeed call for a motion to vacate the speaker’s post.

“If I’m Speaker of the House, I finish the job in the House. I pass the appropriation bills, and then I tell Chuck Schumer in the Senate, it’s your job now, buddy… But right now, Mike Johnson is getting rolled in meeting after meeting after meeting.”

“Every day Mike Johnson gets closer and closer to this deal brings me closer and closer to vacating the chair because I have absolutely had it.”

No one is extremist enough for the MAGA wing of today’s GOP. And if indeed Greene does become speaker of the House, God help us all.
