Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) managed to own himself in spectacular fashion Wednesday during an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox “News” show, suggesting that the judge assigned to failed former president Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 criminal case is biased against the ex-president and cannot be trusted to rule impartially.
However, when the judge was nominated by Barack Obama almost a decade ago, Graham voted to confirm U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, with the Senate approving the lifetime appointment by a 95-0 margin.
Despite those facts, however, Graham told Hannity that Chutkan cannot be trusted.
Graham’s absurd remarks got him relentlessly mocked on Twitter, where many reminded him that he had no problem with Chutkan when he had a chance to vote against her.
