GOP Congressman Has A Blunt Message For Trump: ‘If You’re Innocent, Start Acting Like It’

Thought it’s hard to believe, it appears that some members of the Republican Party have had quite enough of failed one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump, and they’re making it clear they are sick and tired of his whining about the legal troubles he’s facing.

Take, for example, Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), who said during an appearance on CNN that if Trump is indeed a innocent as he claims to be, he needs to “start acting like it.”

Buck began by slamming Trump supporters who have reportedly been threatening grand jurors in Georgia who indicted the ex-president on racketeering charges Monday. Those attacks of people “who are just doing their civic duty, showing up and doing their job as Americans, is despicable.”

Then the congressman turned his fire on Trump.

“And if you’re innocent, start acting like it. I can’t think of anything worse than trying to attack the criminal justice system because you’re a criminal defendant, and I think that’s just terrible of any defendant to go through that process.”

Oddly, however, Buck also called the Georgia indictments “a nuclear bomb, where a bullet would have been appropriate.”

Asked if any of the Republicans seeking the 2024 Republican nomination have a chance, Buck cited former vice president Mike Pence, adding, “I think that other candidates are going to be able to step up and really assume that mantle.”

However, recent polls suggest otherwise, with Trump leading Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by 40 points and lapping the other contenders by even larger margins.
