If you thought the battle over who will the next Speaker of the House couldn’t possibly get more degrading, disgusting, and downright foul (while also being endlessly entertaining), a posting made by a former adviser to failed, one-term, twice-impeached ex-president Donald Trump has raised the stakes to new levels of ire while simultaneously hitting a low usually only found in the most fetid of cesspools.
Sam Nunberg served as a strategist for the 2016 Trump for president campaign, and he clearly didn’t appreciate a tweet Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) sent regarding House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
Here’s the tweet from Gaetz:
McCarthy is losing it.
He texted one of my colleagues who didn’t vote for him:
“I am ready to fund an endless war”
I’m assuming this is in *addition* to Ukraine.
Gaetz’s refusal to support McCarthy even drew a posting from the former president himself, who weighed in on his failing Truth Social site.
“Some really good conversations took place last night, and it’s now time for all of our GREAT Republican House Members to VOTE FOR KEVIN, CLOSE THE DEAL, TAKE THE VICTORY, & WATCH CRAZY NANCY PELOSI FLY BACK HOME TO A VERY BROKEN CALIFORNIA,THE ONLY SPEAKER IN U.S. HISTORY TO HAVE LOST THE “HOUSE” TWICE! REPUBLICANS, DO NOT TURN A GREAT TRIUMPH INTO A GIANT & EMBARRASSING DEFEAT. IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE, YOU DESERVE IT. Kevin McCarthy will do a good job, and maybe even a GREAT JOB – JUST WATCH!”
All of this led Nunberg to excoriate Gaetz.
“Fuck off @mattgaetz. You hate McCarthy because he didn’t issue a press release defending you for screwing call girls. Maybe you are being an arsonist gadfly because you are suffering from early late stage syphilis? Listen to your daddy Donald and cut this shit out you brat.”
Wow! Let’s not forget that Matty is also allegedly fond of sleeping with underage girls, which may yet land him in prison.
