AOC Humiliates GOP Congresswoman Who Accused Her Of Being ‘Fake’ Arrested For SCOTUS Protest

A Republican member of Congress found out today that you don’t want to start a online war with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) unless you’re trying to get humiliated for the entire internet to see.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) was the person who decided to pick a fight with AOC by suggesting she had faked her arrest for protesting at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, as CNN reported at the time:

More than a dozen Democratic members of Congress were among those arrested by Capitol Police on Tuesday afternoon as part of an abortion rights protest in front of the Supreme Court.

Wearing specially made green bandanas with “Won’t Back Down,” they marched from the Capitol to the Court, which has been fenced off for weeks, since shortly after the leak of the draft decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Within two minutes of their arriving, police began ordering them to “cease and desist.” Instead, they sat on the street, and were one by one led off by officers as they chanted, “The people, united, will never be divided.”

34 people were arrested, including 16 members of Congress, among them Ocasio-Cortez.

But for some reason, Republicans began insinuating that the entire protest was just an act and no one was actually arrested, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) posting videos online in which said “AOC pretended to be arrested.”

And then Mace joined the bullshit parade:

That’s when AOC took out her social media stiletto and carved Mace’s tweet to shreds.

Nancy Mace and her Republican cohorts need to know that if you’re gonna come for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, you’d better bring your A game. And even then, the chances are good you’ll get verbally slapped silly.

Lauren Boebert: Roe v. Wade Doesn’t Affect The LGBTQ Community Because They ‘Can’t Get Pregnant’

Every time you read about Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), you probably wonder, “She cannot possibly get any dumber, can she?”

But as we’ve all learned since Boebert arrived in Congress two years ago, she does indeed get dumber, less informed, and clownish.

Today Lauren is weighing in on the issue of abortion and LGBTQ rights, two subjects she is wildly ignorant about.

After the House voted yesterday to codify same-sex marriage into federal law (with 47 Republicans crossing the aisle and voting with Democrats), Boebert went on television and said she couldn’t understand how the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court affected LGBTQ Americans because they can’t even get pregnant:

“I’m sorry, but if you’re not able to have a child, how does [the repeal of Roe vs. Wade] actually impact you?”

Clearly, Boebert didn’t bother to read (assuming she can actually read and comprehend) the concurring opinion from Justice Clarence Thomas in the SCOTUS decision that struck down Roe. If she had, she would have seen this:

“In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous’ … we have a duty to ‘correct the error’ established in those precedents … After overruling these demonstrably erroneous decisions, the question would remain whether other constitutional provisions guarantee the myriad rights that our substantive due process cases have generated.”

Obergefell was the decision which made same-sex marriage in the United States, and yet Thomas wants it overturned, too.

So how does Roe affect LGBTQ Americans? It’s all a matter of privacy, which the current conservative majority on the high court seems to think none of us have a right to privacy.

Twitter quickly took over and gave Boebert the mockery and humiliation she so richly deserved.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: All Pregnant Women Should Be Forced To Give Birth

Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is now advocating that all women in the United States who become pregnant should be forced to give birth, no matter the circumstances.

Speaking to Newsmax podcast host Rob Carson, Greene said that the very idea of women having abortion rights is “insulting” to her.

“The very idea that women’s rights don’t matter anymore, which is what [Democrats] say, and our stance for pro-life is to support women. We support their pregnancies. We support them being mothers even if it’s a circumstance that they didn’t plan.

“We also support women’s rights. The right to privacy, our right to have privacy in our bathrooms, the right to compete in our women’s sports without being threatened by biological men. And so, yes, all of this is a slap in our face “

She supports women’s rights to privacy, and yet she wants to have the government decide what a woman can do with her body when she’s pregnant. That’s one hell of a contradiction, not to mention the attendant hypocrisy in such a statement.

Any federal legislation to guarantee a woman’s right to choose, Greene declared is “evil and disgusting.”

“They want to make abortion legal up until the day of birth, and make it available for every woman that wants it across the country and they are so angry about it. They’re demanding it, they’re fighting for it.”

What’s evil and disgusting is people like Greene trying to tell others what they can and cannot do with their bodies. It’s the ultimate form of government control and tyranny.

Pretty soon, Greene and her ilk will insist that women serve no other purpose than that of breeding machines. Then again, that’s pretty much what the Supreme Court they packed with extremists has already made clear with their ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

These are dark days in the United States, and if extremists like Greene have their way, things are going to get much worse.

WATCH: Jim Jordan Hems And Haws When Asked If A 10-Year-Old Should Have To Give Birth To Her Rapist’s Baby

There are many things that can be said about Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and most of them aren’t charitable because he simply doesn’t deserve to have nice things said about him and also because there’s virtually nothing about him that mertis any sort of praise.

The Ohio Republican is still trying to extricate himself from a controversy of his own making, suggesting on Twitter earlier this week he didn’t believe a 10-year-old Ohio girl had been raped and forced to travel to Indiana in order to obtain an abortion so she wouldn’t have to give birth to the child of her rapist.

Here’s the tweet Jordan posted and later deleted:

So objectionable was Jordan’s tweet that even when he showed up on right-wing Newsmax Friday, he got grilled by the host, according to Mediaite:

“Should they be forced to carry out this child? Should they have this option? In the state of Ohio, sir, where do you fall on that?” Jordan was asked.

To call Jordan’s reply gobbledygook would be an enormous understatement:

“Well, this is a question. This is straight on this Supreme Court, Supreme Court’s decision.

“This is the question that the legislatures in the respective states will answer. I am as pro-life as you can be, we want to protect the unborn children as life. But in this situation you’re talking about you’re talking about a ten-year-old. But that’s a question for legislatures in the respective states.”

Jordan added:

“That’s exactly what the Dobbs decision said. And that’s where the people’s representative should make that decision in our state legislature.”

Jordan and his colleagues in the Republican Party are hypocrites. They say they want to end abortion in the United States, but they have no solutions when children are raped or women’s lives are in danger if they give birth. They want to try and have it both ways, but that’s simply not possible when it comes to an issue of fundamental privacy and reproductive choice.

Republicans have long dreamed of a day when the Supreme Court would make abortion illegal. But now that the court has done so, the GOP is like the proverbial dog who caught the car: They don’t know what in the hell to do next.

Nancy Pelosi Has The Perfect Clapback To Republicans Who Want To Regulate Women’s Bodies

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has had more than enough of Republicans trying to control what American women can do with their bodies, and she’s making it clear that she isn’t going to sit idly by and let the GOP continue to attack the rights of women in the United States.

At her daily press conference, the Speaker was asked about Republicans in Congress making speeches on the House floor in which they reference her. She replied:

“We’re not going to negotiate a woman’s right to choose. What are you going to negotiate? Whether a woman can have contraception? Is that cause for negotiation? Whether people can have birth control? A little bit here. A little bit there. Yes or no? Look, you’re in my wheelhouse now because I had five children in six years and one week. God blessed us with that, and Republicans have said on the House floor Nancy Pelosi thinks she knows more about having babies than the Pope. Yes, I do, and I think other popes would agree…That’s what we’re talking about. Respect freedom of reproductive health.”

Men have no right telling women what they can do with their bodies. How do you suppose Republican men would feel if they were suddenly told they had to have mandatory vasectomies if they weren’t fathers by the age of 40? Or how would those same men like being told they can’t have sex without the approval of the state legislature?

The government should never get into private matters that are between a woman and her doctor. If we’re going to open that door and demand that women be subjected to a different standard, then we might just as well go ahead and declare that no one has any rights so the world can know we’ve become a nation of tyranny.
