Lauren Boebert Walks Into An Enormous Self-Own By Declaring She Will ‘Never Go Woke’

Eager to prove her complete lack compassion and intelligence, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) went on Twitter and proudly declared that she would “never go woke.”

The word “woke” is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as:

“Aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).”

How being aware and attentive to important facts and issues related to race and social justice a bad thing? Had it not been for the actions and words of leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this country might still be segregated.

Women’s rights are also a matter of “wokeness.” Would Boebert prefer that we deny women the right to vote or serve in Congress? There was a time when that was the case.

So Lauren is bragging about being unenlightened and ignorant. That’s not surprising, but it’s not exactly something to be proud of, as Twitter users reminded her.

Washed-Up Actor James Woods Says He May Sue Democrats For Destroying His Career

Washed-up actor James Woods, like many conservatives, thinks the reason he no longer has a thriving acting career is because his “enemies” have worked against him and prevented him from getting good acting gigs in Hollywood.

And now Woods is threatening to sue the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Mediate reports:

Actor and outspoken conservative James Woods a promising a lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee following revelations from Elon Musk about Twitter’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop story.

In a thread by Matt Taibbi that was teased by Musk this week, the author highlighted behind-the-scenes details about Twitter’s handling of Biden’s laptop, which was originally reported on by the New York Post, which was subsequently locked out of their Twitter account for some time.

In some of Taibbi’s many tweets, he made the allegation that Democratic Party officials were requesting certain Twitter accounts be suspended over tweets about the Biden story, which was being contested at the time by numerous critics, but much of the material was later confirmed by multiple major outlets.

Taibbi shared one internal communication that included a James wood tweet apparently sent to the company “from the DNC.”

“Celebrities and unknowns alike could be removed or reviewed at the behest of a political party,” Taibbi tweeted.

But the requests from political parties weren’t just from Democrats, as Taibbi admitted.

Yet despite the so-called Hunter Biden “bombshell,” even conservatives were forced to admit the report was a giant nothing burger. The main reason Twitter withheld information about the president’s son was because it contained nude photos, which were deemed by Twitter to be “revenge porn.”

Woods, however, is now threatening to get an attorney and sue, telling Tucker Carlson:

“I can guarantee you one thing more than anything else you’ll ever hear in your life: I will be getting a lawyer. I will be suing the Democratic National Committee no matter what.

“Whether I win or lose, I am going to stand up for the rights that every American – not a so-called celebrity. I’m not a celebrity — I’m hardly recognizable anymore because my career has been destroyed by these very people.”

Woods will indeed lose. But if he wants to waste his money, let him.

Saturday Sedition: Trump Calls For ‘Termination’ Of The Constitution And Returning Him To The Presidency

Disgraced, failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump called for the “termination” of the U.S. Constitution and his return to the presidency Saturday on his Truth Social site.

Trump’s post was in reaction to news that during the 2020 election, Twitter removed tweets that contained nude photos of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter. Those photos were kept off Twitter because they were labeled as “revenge porn” and not newsworthy.

Despite the Hunter Biden story being a giant nothing burger, Trump posted an angry screed online.

“So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”

Peter Baker of the New York Times noted that the ex-president had just crossed a dangerous line.

“Needless to say, can’t think of a time in the United States when a former president (and would-be future president) has called for suspending the Constitution to let him seize power. Even after all the shocks of the last few years, this one is remarkable.”

New Senate Composition Means Manchin And Sinema Are About To ‘Lose Power’

Next Tuesday, if Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) defeats GOP challenger Herschel Walker (and every metric suggests he will), Democrats will have a 51-49 advantage in the U.S. Senate, a gain of one seat in the recent midterm elections.

And if Warnock wins, Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) will no longer be able to stand in the way of progress being made by their Democratic colleagues in the upper chamber of Congress.

Nick Reynolds of Newsweek explains:

Depending on the result of next week’s runoff election between Georgia Democrat Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker, Democrats stand to control 51 seats in the U.S. Senate as well as the tie-breaking vote of Vice President Kamala Harris, requiring both senators to break with their party to sink a piece of legislation.

Bottom line: Manchin and Sinema are about to lose what power they have.

“I don’t expect Manchin or Sinema to have much influence to be quite honest,” Joshua Huder, a senior fellow at Georgetown University’s Government Affairs Institute, told Newsweek.

“To the degree that they do have influence, it’ll be much more in the vein of the infrastructure bill-type influence,” Huder said in reference to concessions they received for fossil fuel permitting and corporate tax carveouts in a recent infrastructure package.

“They’re not going to be able to kill Democratic initiatives like they did,” he added. “They’re not going to be able to threaten not to go along with the filibuster.

“They’re not going to be able to do any of the stuff that really gave them a lot of veto power. They can be a positive influence in the sense that they can negotiate with Republicans, but that’s really the limit of what they can do.”

Gregory Magarian, a professor at the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, concurs, noting:

“Republicans will need to pass legislation that Democrats will accept, while what we’ve seen Manchin and Sinema do over the last couple of years is pull the legislation sufficiently far to the right to be acceptable to those pivotal House Republicans.

“So at that point, if we’re thinking about this in fairly linear ideological terms, there really shouldn’t be anything left for Manchin and Sinema to do.”

Good! All they’ve done is obstruct, so it’s time they became powerless and irrelevant.

Former RNC Chair Warns: ‘Marjorie Taylor Greene Will Be The Most Powerful Speaker Of The House’

For almost a month now, as it became clear that Republicans would indeed win a narrow majority giving them control of the House of Representatives, there’s been endless chatter about who might be the next Speaker of the House.

The name most frequently mentioned is that of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), but many conservatives say they cannot support him because he’s not right-wing enough or willing to bend to their extremist will.

Surprisingly, Georgia GOP Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene says she supports McCarthy, which has confounded some pundits since she’s also a hardcore right-wing nutjob.

But according to former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, whoever winds up as Speaker will have to give a great deal of their power to Greene.

Appearing on MSNBC Friday, Steele noted:

“The media and others still want to focus on the man and, you know, what he’s trying to do, what he’s trying to say — we’re past that. I’m now looking at where the party leadership is trying to move itself, and the more telling thing for me was not the dinner that Donald Trump had with [Nick] Fuentes and Kanye [West]. It was the lack of response from political wannabes, who want to be president, the governor of Florida, which I still don’t think he’s put a statement out on that. The leadership of the party, ‘Oh, we don’t like antisemitism,’ without saying that the anti-Semitic former president is the case to be made against, and to draw that very bright line and say this is not who we are, nor is it who we want to be.”

Then came the warning about Greene:

“That small fraction of the party still has political, financial and other sway and control over the leadership. Marjorie Taylor Greene will be the most powerful Speaker of the House because she will have the opportunity to control what comes out of Kevin’s mouth around the things that matter to that small cadre.”

A panelist asked Steele if he thought Greene might actually wind up being Speaker, to which he responded:

“I just call the thing what it is.You call it shadow, I call it the thing. It’s the job, because what you can’t make that separation, when she is — you’re dragging her to your events and propping her up, telling her we’re going to put you back in committee, we’re going to give you a powerful leadership role. Come on.”
