Herschel Walker’s ‘Plan’ For Preventing School Shootings Is Nonsensical Gibberish

There was a time back in the early 1980s when Herschel Walker was undoubtedly the greatest running back in the country, earning him the Heisman Trophy in 1982 as the best player in all of college football while playing for the University of Georgia.

Now, however, 40 years later, Walker is the GOP Senate nominee for the Peach State, and it seems every single time he opens his mouth these days, he winds up making little to no sense whatsoever.

Such was the case today when Walker appeared on Fox News to discuss the horrific mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas that left 19 elementary school children and two of their teachers dead this week.

Walker, who has the full support of failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump, had this to say when asked about the most recent shooting in the United States:

“You know Cain killed Abel, you know, and that’s a problem that we have. What we need to do is look into how we can stop those things, you know, they talked about doing a disinformation.”

Cain and Abel? Last time I checked, Cain didn’t mow Abel down with an AR-15 and then go kill an entire village of people. And do we even have any factual proof that such an event ever took place?

But it was what Walker said next that suggested he isn’t fit to be elected to any office, let alone the U.S. Senate:

“What about looking at getting a department that can look at young men that’s looking at women that’s looking at their social media? What about doing that, looking into things like that? And we can stop that that way. But yet, they want to continue to talk about taking away your constitutional rights.”

A department that can look at young men that’s looking at women that’s looking at their social media. What in the hell does that even mean?!

Walker added:

“This has been happening for years, and the way we stop it, by putting money into the mental health field, by putting money into other departments rather than departments that want to take away your rights.”

Putting money into the mental health field is a good idea, and yet legislators in Walker’s former home state, Texas, have repeatedly slashed funding for mental health services. Why doesn’t Herschel call on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to convene a special session of the Texas legislature and allocate millions for better mental health infrastructure in the Lone Star State?

As for Walker’s suggestion of department to look at social media postings, the Brennan Center for Justice notes that there are already over a dozen federal agencies that monitor social media sites.

Herschel Walker was a great football player, and no one can ever take that away from him. But he’d be a disaster as a senator, and hopefully Georgia voters will reject his brainless gibberish in November.

AOC Shreds Lauren Boebert As A ‘Useless Piece Of Furniture’ For Her Statement On The Texas School Shooting

As is so often the case when there’s a mass shooting in the United States, the vast majority of Republican political figures in the U.S. offered up the usual thoughts and prayers while failing to address the larger problem of guns, anger, and violence which permeates this country like a metastatic form of cancer that sits dormant in people for years and then one day takes the form of a horrific tumor which spreads like wildfire and consumes the innocent in a flash of hatred and self-loathing.

In Uvalde, Texas, 19 young children and two teachers were shot and killed Tuesday, once again leaving the country stunned, terrified, and sick to its soul.

Into this open wound steps Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who owns a bar where the servers are encouraged to openly carry weapons.

Here’s what Congresswoman Boebert had to say about the Uvalde massacre:

Maybe not, but you can sure and as hell make it tougher for those who wish to do evil to acquire weapons of mass murder.

Keep in mind that this is the very same Lauren Boebert who posed fully armed with her children for a Christmas photo last year.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY was in no mood to hear Boebert’s empty homilies, and she made that clear in her response.

Others on social media then joined the debate, and they too had plenty to tell the Colorado Republican.

Clearly, thoughts and prayers are not going to do the job. But thanks to Boebert and her ilk in Congress, we are NEVER going to get the job done, and that means in the very near future we are going to turn on the TV or look at our phones and see news of yet another mass shooting.

You can’t legislate away evil, Lauren, but you can sure as hell vote it the out of office and send it back to the rock it crawled out from under.

Trump Complained About Pence Being Taken To Safety On 1/6 – Said VP Should Be Hung: Report

As rioters were storming the Capitol on January 6, 2021, then-President Donald Trump saw crowds of people chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” and said he agreed with them, getting upset when it became clear that the vice president had been whisked to safety by the U.S. Secret Service.

According to The New York Times:

Shortly after hundreds of rioters at the Capitol started chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” on Jan. 6, 2021, the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, left the dining room off the Oval Office, walked into his own office and told colleagues that President Donald J. Trump was complaining that the vice president was being whisked to safety.

Mr. Meadows, according to an account provided to the House committee investigating Jan. 6, then told the colleagues that Mr. Trump had said something to the effect of, maybe Mr. Pence should be hung.

It is not clear what tone Mr. Trump was said to have used. But the reported remark was further evidence of how extreme the rupture between the president and his vice president had become, and of how Mr. Trump not only failed to take action to call off the rioters but appeared to identify with their sentiments about Mr. Pence — whom he had unsuccessfully pressured to block certification of the Electoral College results that day — as a reflection of his own frustration at being unable to reverse his loss.

Of course, this shouldn’t surprise anyone who actually knows what the failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president is capable of.

For example, Trump reportedly made fun of his own father, Fred Trump, as he faded into the darkness of Alzheimer’s disease, as first reported back in 2017 in the book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man by Mary Trump, the ex-president’s niece:

“Among the family drama that Trump is set to spill in the book is how the current US president ‘dismissed and derided’ his father ‘when he began to succumb to Alzheimer’s,’ which he was diagnosed with in 1993, according to Simon & Schuster.”

Donald Trump is a complete asshole. He always has been, even as a child:

Dennis Burnham was four years younger and lived around the corner from Donald. He inherited his own impression of his neighbor from his mother, who warned that he should “stay away from the Trumps.”

“Donald was known to be a bully, I was a little kid, and my parents didn’t want me beaten up,” said Burnham, 65, a business consultant in Texas.

Once when she left Dennis in a playpen in a back yard adjoining the Trumps’ property, Martha Burnham returned to find Donald throwing rocks at her son. “She saw Donald standing at the fence,” Dennis Burnham said, “using the playpen for target practice.”

Should it surprise anyone that Donald was willing to see his own VP hang from a scaffold if it would allow him to remain as president indefinitely? If it does, then you simply haven’t been paying attention.

Paul Gosar Tweets And Then Deletes Lie That The Texas Shooter Was A ‘Transsexual Leftist Illegal Alien’

While we already knew that Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) is one of the most bigoted and disgusting people currently serving in Congress, something he tweeted shortly after a mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, killed 21 people was so tone-deaf (and completely incorrect) that he felt a need to delete the tweet a couple of hours later.

HuffPost notes:

Extremist Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Arizona) deleted a disturbing and offensive tweet Tuesday that falsely claimed the gunman who killed more than 20 people at a Texas school was a “transsexual leftist illegal alien.”

The lawmaker wrote the message in response to a Twitter user who wondered if the shooter was a member of the far-right, “the kind of trash that” Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Gosar “travel to speak to?” before deleting their tweet.

Gosar’s conspiracy theory about the shooter was also widely disseminated on right-wing media, despite its factual inaccuracy:

Gosar, an anti-immigration hardliner who routinely cozies up to white nationalists, was apparently promoting a false claim circulating on right-wing networks. Users shared images of a trans person unrelated to the attack claiming they were the shooter.

Who needs facts when you’re trying to spread a lie? Right, Paul.

Gosar is such a sorry excuse of a human being that his own family members have urged voters in his district not to support him. They have also suggested he should be held responsible for his role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Former Prosecutor Says He Believes Trump Gave ‘Blanket Pardons’ To His Family So They Wouldn’t Be Charged For Jan. 6

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner says he found it odd Rudy Giuliani, Don Jr. and Ivanka Trump, along with former White House senior adviser all agreed to testify before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection instead of delaying such testimony by fighting all the way to the Supreme Court.

Why would such high-level former Trump aides be willing to talk to the Jan. 6 committee? Could it be because they had no fear of being prosecuted for what they said because failed, one-term former President Donald Trump handed out sealed blanket pardons in the final days of the administration?

It should also be noted that Trump also appointed three new Supreme Court justices during his four years in office, giving him a nice 6-3 conservative advantage on the highest court in the land should any of those pardons come up for review in the federal courts. One of those justices, you might recall, had been accused of sexual assault and being a drunken asshole during his college years.

Also, if you accept a pardon, you waive your Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, so maybe Rudy, Don Jr., Ivanka, and Jared knew a long and involved appeal process would have been pointless because any court would have ruled against them since they had been pardoned.

There may be some fire connected to that smoke. With the Jan. 6 committee due to start public hearings on June 9, we may all learn exactly what behind the scenes machinations Trump put in place in order to cover his ass and those with a family connection.
